I decided, after a recent visit (of which I had to make an appointment just to get in the door to…read morebrowse the tiles), that I was going to purchase all of my tiles and supplies elsewhere, as I was not given the time and attention that the customer before me was receiving. I made an appointment for 2:00 PM on a recent Thursday and I waited outside in the cold while the sole staffer continued to help the customer before me, who was clearly running over her allotted time of appointment span. Another older woman then approached the door after what seemed like almost 5-7 minutes, let me in, and when I told her I had an appointment for 2:00, she pointed to the younger woman and said to me "Oh, ok... she'll be with you as soon as she can." Then the younger woman came over to me a couple of minutes later and apologized that they were running late with their appointments and I could just take a look around without assistance. The older woman did nothing to assist me or the other staffer, even though she clearly seemed like she wasn't doing much. Well, after almost FORTY minutes of waiting well past my appointment time (what a joke), I just walked out!! Unbelievable !

When I picked out the wrong tiles for a wall, she rolled her eyes and made fun of me. I was looking for floor tiles. When I went back to place an order and return the 2 samples, she accused me of taking 3 not 2 samples. She was the one who handed me the 2! Jen and Doreen make you feel like you are doing them a favor! I did buy tiles from there, but would never again. Jen and Doreen should not be in customer service. You can't make someone nice or care. They don't.

I researched and learned that they put down #1 grade red oak. The house has select grade (higher) WHITE OAK. And the floor was poorly laid with H joints everywhere. The president John took no responsibility. He accused me of lying by way of wanting a free floor. He kept trying to convince me the entire house was red oak (I went the extra mile and had it chemically tested. It's white oak). John stated that it was "awfully funny that I suddenly knew so much about floors" (of course once I saw something was wrong I wanted to understand what that was). John proceeded to rip a chunk out the corner of the living room floor for testing, as opposed to the closet where I asked him to remove it. See photo. Outrageous (for photos see google review) We took a HUGE LOSS on this floor. John REFUSED to remove the floor they installed! We had to pay another company to clean up this mess. It set us behind by MONTHS as post-covid construction is booming and it was difficult to obtain the correct wood at that time. Summery: wrong species of wood, wrong grade floor, layed over my old subfloor but charged for removal and replacement of subfloor, poorly layed down. Refused to remove the floor. Accused me of laying despite all evidence presented to him. I regret not suing this company, something I have never done. But we just did not have the mental energy in the middle of this remodel to take on a court case. *Update through replacement process we discovered they did NOT take out and replace the existing subfloor - which they charged me for. Enter Jeff Mahedy and Affordable Floors in New Windsor, NY. Jeff came to the house, gave us a very reasonable price and assured us that it wouldn't be that bad...and he was right. On the day the work started, Marcio did a great job of taping up just about everything and putting up plastic that kept a great deal of the dust down and after the sanding and stripping, did a fantastic job of staining and putting polyurethane on the floors. The floors look better than new and we couldn't be happier. They are smooth, the finish is excellent and the value of our house just went up! I would highly recommend Affordable Floors, and they are family owned for over 30 years. Their service and quality of workmanship are excellent.
