When it was obvious that the old flooring couldn't be salvaged, he found replacement wood that matched the original. He scraped off the old finish, sanded, and finished with food-safe tung oil, creating a beautiful soft sheen. He was prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced for a high quality job.

Paul and his staff were very helpful in discussing the attributes of wood core laminate verses stone core laminate. My wife and I chose the stone core option because of its resistance to humidity, water and large temperature changes. Paul assisted us in choosing the right color, for each space, and let us keep several samples, for enough of time to make a decision. The onsite meetings and installation were accomplished at the appointed times. The installation including moving appliances, in the kitchen was accomplished in one day. We are very pleased, with our new floors and highly recommend Superior Floors for your next flooring project.

Requested…read morethe same wood as the rest of the house, sand down whole house and stain everything the same color. As soon as I saw the new flooring I knew it wasn't right. I researched and learned that they put down #1 grade red oak. The house has select grade (higher) WHITE OAK. And the floor was poorly laid with H joints everywhere. The president John took no responsibility. He accused me of lying by way of wanting a free floor. He kept trying to convince me the entire house was red oak (I went the extra mile and had it chemically tested. It's white oak). John stated that it was "awfully funny that I suddenly knew so much about floors" (of course once I saw something was wrong I wanted to understand what that was). John proceeded to rip a chunk out the corner of the living room floor for testing, as opposed to the closet where I asked him to remove it. See photo. Outrageous (for photos see google review) We took a HUGE LOSS on this floor. John REFUSED to remove the floor they installed! We had to pay another company to clean up this mess. It set us behind by MONTHS as post-covid construction is booming and it was difficult to obtain the correct wood at that time. Summery: wrong species of wood, wrong grade floor, layed over my old subfloor but charged for removal and replacement of subfloor, poorly layed down. Refused to remove the floor. Accused me of laying despite all evidence presented to him. I regret not suing this company, something I have never done. But we just did not have the mental energy in the middle of this remodel to take on a court case. *Update through replacement process we discovered they did NOT take out and replace the existing subfloor - which they charged me for. They put the floor in over my old subfloor. See photos on my Google review.

Enter Jeff Mahedy and Affordable Floors in New Windsor, NY. Jeff came to the house, gave us a very reasonable price and assured us that it wouldn't be that bad...and he was right. On the day the work started, Marcio did a great job of taping up just about everything and putting up plastic that kept a great deal of the dust down and after the sanding and stripping, did a fantastic job of staining and putting polyurethane on the floors. The floors look better than new and we couldn't be happier. They are smooth, the finish is excellent and the value of our house just went up! I would highly recommend Affordable Floors, and they are family owned for over 30 years. Their service and quality of workmanship are excellent. If you have to do this messy job, let Affordable Floors do it for you!

He has been the best contractor I've worked with so far - great communication throughout, and I'm extremely impressed with the results. He really seemed to care about the work he does and worries over the details. Some key points about my experience: - The owner and his sons actually did the work. Most other contractors I've worked with have the owner show up for the estimate, then send a different crew (which doesn't speak english) or even subcontractors. - The price he quoted was the price he stuck to, even though there were complications with the wood I provided, and with my crooked sub-floor. - I received 3 quotes before choosing Wayne, his price was in the middle. During the estimate he actually measured my entire house and asked about details, whereas others just took a quick look around. That's probably why there were no "extras" on the final bill. - He knows a lot about different woods and finishes and was open to do whatever I wanted. I went with non-standard rift and quartered oak, and a matte 2-part water-based finish. - When he was finished my house was clean, he must have a great sawdust collector. Overall highly recommended and I wish other contractors did business like him.
