Our apartment, which had roaches, had started as a small problem that had grown over the past few months. My parents had been using Merlin's for decades. For the same price, I am now sprayed for about 15 different insects with a different company. As well--Merlin's exterminator didn't bring to my attention--damage from a woodpecker. Without me showing anything- he knew exactly what I was talking about and went right to the problem spotted on the house. I asked how after all of these years using them- why they never brought this to my attention. He exclaimed that nothing could be done about it. This of course is false. There are some preventative steps that can be taken against woodpeckers. After thankfully firing Merlin's-- I of course hired other people. Ever since --mother nature's creatures have left me in peace.

Everything I asked her about he said he had already done. There were a couple things I asked him about and he said his hose wouldn't reach that far. So they had to send another person back on another date. Again that person showed up when I wasn't home. And I have no idea if they did any work at all. The guy that was doing the spraying kept having the chemicals blown back all over himself. He wasn't wearing a respirator were any protective clothing.

(888) 347-2010, which is the one I'm reviewing) and it saddens me that this is my first Yelp posting ever, but my experience with Chemtech was so negative for squirrel trapping/removal that I had to post. First off, they require full payment up front, which is already an issue, but hey, I had a rodent emergency that seemed... somewhat straightforward, so I figured it'd get resolved quickly and went with it. Second, they can't adhere to any kind of schedule. While setting an appointment, I was dealing with "Steve" who said I wouldn't need to be present when they made their first inspection of the our house and the problem. As a result, I didn't set an official appointment and when the next day rolled around, I got a phone call at 7pm on my way home from work asking, "Where are you? We've been waiting for an hour." Their "inspection" then occurred at 8pm in the dark with a flashlight, when no one could really see anything. Two nights later they put up a couple of traps over some holes that were in spots completely unrelated to where the sounds in the house were coming from and... that was it! No additional searching (particularly in the area of the house that I indicated the noises were coming from), no checkups beyond what was done in the dark at night. And no visits. I finally needed to get some repairs done and asked them two days before the repairs began (around 3 weeks after the traps went up with no success because... they weren't in the right place) to remove the traps so work could begin. No response. So I had the repairmen remove them. Steve went ballistic saying that "his property" had been removed and I "let someone touch his traps." and ended it with "This case is closed." So. Customer service = 0. Value = 0 (They got a LOT of money up front for a total of around 1.5 hrs of work). Success = 0. Avoid at all costs.

After two weeks, my squirrels situation had been resolved and Steve/Andrew came back to close the entry points. Steve was super responsive and professional during the two weeks of waiting and trapping. I was impressed that Steve responded to my call and gave me an appointment on the same day especially it was the day before Thanksgiving. (I should mention that I also received a free inspection from a big, national termite exterminating competitor company, who gave me the standard sales pitch with no context. Not only was ACE less expensive, they also gave me a better service guarantee with regard to monitoring and future treatments!) When ACE came to install the products we needed, Don and his co-worker got right down to business, and were speedy and thorough. I definitely plan on using them again for my future bug needs (though we hope not to have any)! (FYI, I believe they are Black-owned, in case you have an interest in supporting Black businesses. However, MOST importantly, you should hire them because they are EXCELLENT.)
