had an extremely disturbing experience with a postal worker, Tiffany, at this location. I politely asked if a worker could assist me by getting a heavy package from my car because I was unable to lift it myself. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee became hostile, used profanity, repeatedly asked me to go outside to fight, and attempted to grab my phone while I was recording. This entire incident was witnessed by other employees and customers. At no point did I behave physically aggressive, yet the situation escalated due to the employee's conduct. This was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and made me feel unsafe inside a federal building. Several employees had to hold her back from assaulting me in front of multiple customers. I expect USPS employees to de-escalate situations, not provoke them. This behavior should be investigated. read more

There are times I do have to come here, but I rue it. I RUE it I tell ya! First, this location is the most local to me and probably the only Post Office within miles (that I know of). It's small with about half the public area given to PO boxes. 9 times out of 10 coming inside here, there is a line - a very slow moving line. There are three counter spaces available, but usually only 1-2 very slow moving Postal workers at these counters. In all the years I've come here, the slow aspect of the way they clear out customers has become a tradition. I know it happens in other Post Offices as well, so this place is really no different. (I've always said if a private corporation bought out the US Post Office, things would run a lot more efficiently.). Besides the obvious slowness, some of the time the workers aren't overly friendly either - a given as well, since they're not required to be. There has been times that someone behind the counter will be courteous or even crack a smile, but it's a rarity when that happens. A few years ago, they had some sort of supervisor out in the front with the customers and boy did those workers' behaviors change for that brief period of time - they became faster and nicer....but once that supervisor stopped being there, it was back to the mundane gingerly approach. And to be fair, it's not all of them because there are some that are actually friendly and helpful as well. I mentioned the place was small with usually a line, but past that, the supplies available for customers to use is usually decently maintained and stocked. If you can nuzzle your way in to get a form or something, you can usually find what you're looking for. I always have things prepared before I come here, so I would probably advise getting a few extra for yourselves if you end up having to come here more frequently. The mail carriers branched out of this location are ok. My usual mail carriers to my house have always been very good - it's the ones who cover them on days off that are the problem. Thankfully, it doesn't happen too often. I've had three mail carriers over the years consistently deliver to my house and all three have always been great. The parking lot is busy and on a busy day, you won't be finding a spot so easy. A lot of people double park on the fire lane even if they're inside waiting on the horrendous line. On a typical Saturday morning the lot can be a madhouse and it's a pain to try and find a spot. If you have to come on a Saturday, I would advise you to come a few minutes before open. This place does keep the lot open for 24 hour Post Office box access and mailboxes. read more

I understand usps policy on when they close no one goes in. I got there at 4:01pm Understood. But usually it's on the supervisors to say if a good customers can go in after closing, that's just good business, like TD Bank. But when you ask to Mail something for your children to receive on x-mas that's not customer appreciation to me. The supervisor Kenny or Kevin in the photo was unprofessional and was not understanding at all. First thing he said was if I let you in what will my customers think? I went to the Yonkers post office on Tuesday to try to speak to the supervisor about my package within their office. I was appointed to the supervisor by an employee who tried to help me out. I'm letting you know that I was APPALLED as to the way as was treated by the supervisor. Even the employees there were visibly frustrated and angry at what he did. I was waiting by the service door to speak to the supervisor as the employee had instructed me to do. The supervisor came out and completely ignored me. He acted as if he were counting the customer in the area since Covid restrictions only allow up to ten in an area. One of the other employees had just did exactly what he did by the way. When I asked if he were the supervisor, he said Yes and I told him I was instructed to speak to him. He didn't even look at me and told me one minute. This is after 20+ mins of waiting. He disappears into the back staff area and for 30 more minutes I wait. One of the employees asked me why I am still waiting and that is unfair that I am sitting there like a duck waiting. 3 more employees check to see if he is in the building and cannot find him now. He disappeared out the building. Never even spoke to me about the issue. As a customer I feel disrespected and I would like to handle this the civil way by emailing you back about this. My package hasn't made any movement since May 2nd. I don't understand what's going on. It can't make progress if the supervisor of the yonkers post office, where my package is, cannot help! read more

I would give this place NO STARS if there was an option! Mail and packages are constantly missing or not delivered. Package status states that "no access" when delivering packages even though the business is open and the doors are wide open. One time the manager stated a package was delivered to another address which turned out to be a diner parking lot. They found the package two days later. This post office is horrible. They lose your packages, they give you other peoples packages. They dont scan their packages on time, so when you get there they have to dive into the big bin to find your package. THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE. I went out of town but before I did, I filled out that yellow card asking them to stop my mail and to have to redelivered when I returned. Easy as pie, no? Well, my mail never was delivered even after I returned. On day 3 of my return, I went into the post office to find out what the deal was and they said... "We don't deliver because you might have too much for our carrier to carry." "Fine. So why do you guys offer that on your yellow card?" "Oh....Someone forgot to scratch that off..." "Fine. Then why didn't you bother delivering my mail...any mail...after my return date? Why did you continue to hold it after the date?" "We didn't know when you were going to return..." "What? It's on the yellow card!" She then proceeds to hand me 5 little envelopes. WAAAAYY too much for my carrier to carry. Here's the deal from what I've witnessed in NYC post offices. 1. VERY bad management 2. Over paid with no fear of being fired 3. Slower than molasses in January...always. Not to mention my own carrier seemingly won't take my out going mail. Just shoves it right back into my mail box with new mail. Even if I wrote on the envelope, PERSON DOES NOT LIVE HERE. Doesn't matter. Bills need to go out? Doesn't matter. It must be a foreign concept to actually do your job. I can't wait for everything to go paperless so I won't have to deal with the post office. Better yet...give em big time competition! I do not live in the area but am reviewing on behalf of the experience of my relatives. One relative mailed a check to another relative to help out with groceries. It took 10 days, yes 10 days for 10704 to deliver to 10710 (both of these zip codes are in Yonkers). This is not the first time this has happened. Mail has been missing such as catalogs and subscription magazines. When you call the post office to complain they state they will look into it. You either never hear back or your catalog or magazine you have been waiting for magically appear (a month later than expected). I think this office should be investigated. I know it is a busy location but mail in general has gone down over the years. Being busy is also no excuse for 10 days for mail from 10704 to 10710. My relative could have walked there and back in the same day. Maybe there are not enough employees at this location. Maybe there is just not enough supervision of employees. These days, many people use email and text to contact their friends and send e-cards. Bill pay is a big thing as well but with the holidays coming people will still want to send a package out to their relatives. My advice, either mail your holiday packages priority with delivery confirmation from this post office OR go to a nearby post office, perhaps another Yonkers post office or possibly Mt. Vernon or Woodlawn in the Bronx. The good people of Yonkers who have problems with this Post Office need to speak up. Maybe things will change. All the best! read more

Worst Post Office ever... I have been living in Yonkers for 38 years and this post office has just gotten progressively worse. I didn't think it was possible but today I not only experienced the usual rude service but I unfortunately witnessed a young man who tried his best to remain patient with the staff be harassed and eventually walk out. Whoever is in charge of mail in Yonkers 10710 area is the worst mailman I ever witnessed in 50 years . We get mail up to 10pm at night I can't make this shit up and some times no mail for days . I mailed something to myself to see how long it would take to get back and it took two weeks these people aren't short handed their lazy . If I can give zero stars I would. This is the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. I thought the one in Harlem was unorganized, I was wrong. They held the mail for my house without notice, they never answer the phone and the "supervisor" would rather make surprise house visits than give a phone call regarding missing mail. When they finally started delivering our mail the don't bother putting it in the mail slot, so once again, our mail and packages go missing. read more

Yonkers, NY 10705 - I work for a company that is serviced by this post office location. Packages do not arrive during business hours - the carrier repeatedly indicates that the business was closed at 4:00 or 4:30! Business Was.Not.Closed! I wonder if the carrier even bothers. You can't get through on the telephone either. No stars at all for this location. - had to select one to post review! Zero customer service and delivery service. Bad enough I have to deal with them for business - so happy I don't live here. One of the worst in a generally bad lot. USPS is their own worst enemy. Complete overhaul needed! This post office has some of the most incompetent, rude and lazy staff I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, this is my local P.O., so I have no choice but to deal with them. It's mind-blowing how many times this place can botch a simple job. I've had way too many instances in which I've had to contact the office itself via phone due to a missing package. It is difficult for me to arrange to go to the office because I am disabled. However, don't waste your time trying to call their office number. They will actually pick up the phone and hang it up on you, because apparently, doing the job that they get paid too well for is too difficult. read more

I went to drop off some packages on Sunday night and was unable to since the drop was jammed as it almost always is so I left the packages on the side as I have done in the past and they still were brought to where they needed to go. The area was disgusting and covered with what look like garbage and stuff thrown everywhere. (Guess I'm trusting and its inside at night) Come to find out that I dropped the packages off to USPS but they were for UPS... I panicked and called the USPS location and finally got somebody on the phone and they had no idea about the stuff that was unable to fit and had to be left... told me to call back in about an hour and the phone rang for about 45 with no one answering ... finally someone answered and said that they person said that if they were there that they were probably brought to the back... How difficult is it for the person who opened up to know if they saw a box of diapers and a small brown box with it when there were only 3 there to begin with? I was informed by the representative at the USPS line that it was ok because they do business with UPS and that it happens all the time and they just give it to them so send out... I got no answers from people who didn't sound like they even knew what they were doing. Such a nightmare and I don't know where my packages are!! read more
