Why close the door to your business early? The only answer sloth. Or, unless you're the USPS. I got here 10 minutes before closing and they closed the door right in front of me as I was walking up to the front door. I knock three separate times and nobody answers, and I'm about to leave, when finally one of the more responsible employees actually walks up to the door and tells me the other door is open. Great, I get to mail my package, and the same responsible employee with a man bun/ponytail points to the drop off area. I want a receipt (how can I trust these employees to make sure they scan my packages with so many lost package complaints?) so I was directed to go around the line only to end up at the counter that was right next to where I was standing where the lady could have said I can help you right here. Yes let's be inefficient and make the customers loop around and walk more when it's right in front of them. That's totally logical, and on top of that she doesn't say a single word to me. Can you not speak or can you not speak English? I thank her and she says nothing, makes no eye contact. At least the same responsible employee says thank you when I walked out the door. I never had high expectations for the USPS but this experience has been the worst. They shouldn't be closing their front door, which is much easier to access, BEFORE CLOSING TIME.They had one person at the door, one person at drop off counter, which I have never seen anyone sit at drop off (overemployed USPS), and two other people at the regular counter. This place is obviously over employed and it's making their staff lazy. read more

This review is for the passport service. We usually apply for passports at the local libraries and try to avoid the post office because we do not want to burden the postal clerks even more on their normal workload since they look so exhausted and annoyed most of the time, however due to library closures during the pandemic post office was our only choice. We had previous experience witnessing how people were treated at the post office on Del Mar in San Gabriel, decided we should avoid that location and try our luck at the temple city one. So despite making an appointment online for the passport service, upon arrival if there's a line out of the door, you still have to wait in line with everyone else. After you get up to the counter and express your purpose, they send you to the passport counter and wait. Then they ask you few more times to confirm your time of the appointment while continuing helping other customers at the counter. Finally I got helped by Virginia. She's the kind of person who would tell you "listen to me!" and wave her hand at you to tell you stop talking to demonstrate her authority. There are few other things about her: 1. She's unaware of the Global Entry Card as a form of ID. She seemed like she has never seen one. It's issued by the federal gov't and should surpasses state issued ID such as a non federal compliant driver's licenses, unless it's a real ID. 2. She carelessly told me to write the check for passport book fee, without even checking on my form, which clearly marked both passport book AND passport card. 3. I did my homework before I went in so I could minimize the time spent in the post office. I brought all the required copies of certificate and IDs and I read on the US department of state website knowing although there's no expedite passport service at this time, there is a 1-2 day delivery option you could choose to have the passport shipped back to you once it's made. Again, Virginia was not aware of this and she kept telling me like I was a fool, "Listen! Listen to me! there's no expedite service!" I had to tell her calmly that I was not referring to the expedite method but there's really a 1-2day delivery option. She finally agreed to look at her computer and was able to understand what I told her was correct. The moral of the story - doesn't matter how much you come prepared hoping to make the postal workers job easier, if they are not being well informed themselves, you are still not saving anyone any work nor time. read more

Due to covid, the post office opens the back area for people to drop off the packages. DO NOT drop package there if there are any valuable inside. People can in and out easy. This is an easy target for bad guys to steal packages I left a package on Monday and now Thursday, it is still not showing in system. I asked for receipt at the time i dropped off, it was the post office guy said there is no receipt due to covid. I went to post office today and they said nothing they can do. Now they told me if you have any valuable in package please line up at front and get the receipt. But there is no sign warning people at the back at all!!! This post office is decent and gets busy during the afternoon. The parking lot is small so be prepared to park on the street. There's usually 2 post office clerks working. Mostly Asian workers here which I don't mind because I speak the language but they speak perfect English. read more

I see a lot of bad reviews but I have not experienced any problems with this branch. Often those who apply for passports want same day turn-around and this is not always possible. The frustration I have seen vented at these poor post office workers, I wouldn't be smiling either by the end of the day. Dealing with the public can be so difficult. I have always been treated very courteously at this USPS office and I am almost afraid to tell others how much I like it here as foot traffic is busy enough, but thank you to all the employees here for doing their best to handle our mail well! read more

DO NOT USE PASSPORT SERVICE HERE!!!!!!! Had came prior to walking in today around 2pm. The last time I came I asked for all the require documents that I have to bring and I also asked the man that handle the passport service whether I should just walk in when I come again with all my documents. He said yes. Today, I have to pull my kids out of school and walked in around 2pm. The same man was not helping anyone. When I walked up to him, he showed me an appointment list!!!!! WTF!! I was trying to reason with him on how hard it is to take off work and pull my kids out of school and there is no way I can do this again. I politely asked him if he can just help me out since it only takes around 10 minutes. He advised me there is nothing he can do. REALLY!!!! You are not even doing anything!!! And you just want to make sure you can get off work on time!! Anyways, I randomly picked another post office on Del Mar Ave in San gabriel and drove straight there. The lady Diane was super helpful and walked me through all the steps from beginning to end with great patient. There are no appointments and all we have to do is simply wait in line for your turn. staff were very kind and nice in dealing with an 80 year old Karen who came in to complain. unfortunately, the manager was out dealing with an accident, and she was throwing a tantrum and wouldn't leave without complaining to the manager and was walking around the whole office complaining to customers. the staff kindly told her to take a seat and not cause so much commotion, but there was a young boy and his father sitting on the bench. she righteously marched up to them and rudely told him "You know you're supposed to give up your seat to the elderly right?". the father told her that she could have just asked nicely and she shouted at him to "Go back to your country"... the staff did end up having to notify the police because she would not stop being rude to customers and causing ruckus, but they were so nice in trying to help her even though she was being crazy and racist, and they also helped stand up for the boy by telling her to stop bullying the kid. great service in trying to calmly mitigate a Karen's racist rant and unreasonable behavior! read more

Bad customer service on many occassions. They would not allow the use of the Postal App on a Smart Phone to scan your package because it's a "camera". This is a Postal Service provided app and I can't even use it to scan my package. "The tracking number is on your receipt." The passport associate with goatee and John Lennon glasses guarding the door after closing wouldn't even hand me a Priority Mail Envelope to use the APS. Is this him or management policy? Virginia, at this Post office was an absolute NIGHTMARE to work with. She had a horribly unprofessional attitude and an impatient demeanor. I get it, you hate your job, and you're about to get axed any day but, this doesn't mean that you take it out on your customers. I asked about the pricing for two things that I wanted to mail out on Wednesday, 4/25/14. She kept being rude & impatient to me. She just couldn't deliver. When I asked if there were any supplies I could purchase or borrow from her, She told me, "you're on your own with everything, we don't have anything for you." What kind of customer service is that? I wrote her name down onto my notepad while I was on the side doing packages and once she looked over & saw that I had written her name down, she started going bi-polar and treated the next two customers nicely. (WEIRD MUCH?) Then off to being her rude self. I had to leave and mail my stuff at a different post office due to her incompotence. She's also very lazy. I had a box that I didn't need, and normally Post offices would just go ahead and take them away and place them back for you, but she was like - here you put it back. UNSECURE PO BOXES. This post office has ruined my life. PO Break ins are regular here and I've been a victim of full identity theft. The thieves hit up 70% of my accounts and also opened up mall credit cards. They need to replace these PO boxes with secured keys. Steer clear of this post office! Try every possible way to avoid VIRGINIA!!!She is a ROBOT!!! Absolutely the RUDEST employee there!!! Believe me, she has the magic to ruin everyone's day. Went there to take care of my passport service. OMG, first of all, she doesn't smile or do any greetings, just grabbed my paperwork impatiently from my hand. Then asked me questions but won't allow me to answer anything more than yes or no, if I say something other than yes or no, she will raise her hand right in front of my face to stop me. Hmmm...lady robot, you're the one that processing my stuff, if I wasn't allowed to even say a word, how the hell that you know what I need you to do? Or if I have any other questions such as getting the tracking information or a receipt? It's really disrespectful when her "talk to my hand" sign is up in my face. Anyways, I can tell that she hates her job a lot and she is stuck with it for some reason, but that's not my fault, and she shouldn't give any customers a shitty attitude like that. We're the one who put money into her paycheck. I'm always so "lucky" that she is the only one available when it's my turn. Besides this crazy arrogant lady, one star for this small post office because it is located at a convenient spot, but only has 5 or 6 parking in front of the office, there are plenty of street parking instead, plus they also open on Saturday as well. I've only been here a handful of times because I usually prefer the post office on Duarte in Arcadia, but every once in awhile I'll come here if i'm closer to the area. The older Asian man who helped me at the counter was INCREDIBLY rude. So be honest...I did not want to come here based on the reviews. I literally called 15 passport facilities to try to get an appointment with no luck so I had no choice but to come here. So on I went in on Saturday, June 4th at 8:40 am and there was already a line. The Post Office does not open up until 9 am. So at 9 am, a guy comes out with a clipboard and tells everyone in line that Passport Service is by appointment only and they can only take 6 people. So if you're behind 3 other people waiting to get their passports and if you're a family of 4 that needs passports, that means 1 person will not be getting their passports that day. You can try and ask nicely and see if they will let you squeeze in one more person. So anyways, back to the guy with the clipboard. There are times listed on the clipboard in increments of 30 minutes starting from 10am - 12:30pm. I signed myself up for 12:00 pm and my Daughter for 12:30pm. I was nervous because the line was long but people brought their whole family for 1 person to get a passport so I lucked out as the 6th person for the day. Let me just add that I had my paperwork filled out from travel.state.gov . I made a copy of my drivers license front and back (it needs to be copied on the same side of the paper), and I had my original birth certificate. So after I got my appointment, I rushed over to get my passport picture taken and then I had a few hours to kill. I came back at 11:40 am with all of my paperwork listed above along with my passport photo. Charlie was the guy that helped me. He was so nice and very funny! I was so happy I got him instead of the mean lady that usually does it (based on other reviews). I came completely prepared with my paperwork and additional docs and he was done in 30 minutes for 2 passports. I mentioned about the mean lady to Charlie and he said she was out sick that day! Phewww! Someone was looking out for me because I do not have patience to deal with meanies! Lol Overall, I had a wonderful experience here. The employees (aka glorified cashiers) are a sorry bunch who stare off into the distance while you try to talk to them about your postal needs. Hey guys, I realize your lives didn't turn out the way you wanted it to and are stuck looking at brown boxes and white envelopes everyday, but don't spread your negative vibes onto your customers. Ok so I've always been told that going to the post office is usually a pain in the butt. Long lines, bad sevice, rude customers, etc. The Temple City PO is cometely opposite from all of that. I usually go around noonish lunch time so the lines are short if there is one. The service is where this PO shines. They are REALLY nice and helpful. On my last visit, I had tons of questions about how to renew my passport and the lady helped me out by telling me exactly what to do, how much it will cost, and where to mail it and what I needed to include. After I filled out my forms and went back to mail it via certified mail, another lady helped me by taking everything out and double checking that I had everything and certified it for me. How awesome is that?! The staff at this PO really needs to be given the credit they deserve. Great customer service and amazing staff!! read more

One of the authorized passport acceptance facilities around the area, and therefore the passport line is always packed. They only take 8 appointments a day with the last appointment at 2pm, so make sure to call ahead and put your name on the list. The gentlemen that helped us was really nice and patient. Very easy to process if you have all your document together and ready to go. Make sure that you fill out your passport application form in black ink, have passport photo ready, bring your driver license as second form of ID, birth certificate must be certified copies...that's some notes I took. I have been coming to this USPS for years. Everyone at this post office is great with the exception for VIRGINIA!!!!!!!! She is seriously the worst person ever. I don't understand why she is still working there. Not only is she rude, she acts like an unreasonable DICTATOR. She ruins people's days. I went in there wanting to mail a package. I wanted to take a picture of the address of my package to show my sister that I have mailed the package & confirm the address is correct. VIRGINIA told me that I am not allow to take a picture of my package inside the building nor am I allowed to take my package outside if the stamps has been affixed on it, which is fine. I understand. So I told her to sell me the first-class stamps separately and I won't put it on until I take a picture of my package WITHOUT STAMPS on it OUTSIDE. I can even leave the stamps at the corner of the counter to show that I am not going to put the stamp on before I take a picture of my package outside. Because I just don't want come back in line to buy the stamps bc the line takes forever, and I have already made it to the counter. She tells me she can't sell me the stamps --- The regular old school first class stamps!!!! WTF. Bc I refuse to do things exactly the way she tells me to do. Even though I want to do is absolutely fine and legal. This is the second time I had problems with her and only her. There is definitely a reason why she has so many complaints on YELP. That people would take their time out just to point her out. If she wasn't being so rude and unreasonable, I wouldn't have said anything. read more

I went to get my passport here. I had to get there early, before 8:30 to sign up for a later "appointment". I went on a Monday and was the 2nd person in line. VERY soon there were about 8 people behind me waiting to sign up as well. Not all of them made it in that day! Marilyn was the lady who helped me with my information. I printed out my online Priority Mail Express International form and bring my package to this post office. I asked the USPS Employee "Denny or Danny" for Customs Form Envelope. He didn't look at me, and just say "NO" He didn't tell me any reason why he cannot give it to me. I was confusing, because they gave it to me last week. He keeps doing his own things without any assistance or explanation, and he never look at me, so I decided to asked another man, he told me they don't provide Customs Form Envelope, and I have to prepare my own or buy it. The reason I want to use online service to prepare my custom form, it is because I want to save USPS's employee's time and my time, I know USPS employees have to spend a lot of time on it if I use "Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note." Today all I ask is a Customs Form Envelope. Do I have to use "Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note" and waste everyone's time to get Customs Form Envelope? Their customer service is very terrible, and unacceptable. I wish USPS can send someone to see how well their service is. read more

Wow, I've never been the first to review a place! I'm also surprised that there's not a review for this post office already. I was inspired to write this after reviewing the Arcadia post office. I used to work in Temple City and one of the few things I miss about my job is going to this post office. That sounds a little strange I know. But I had to come to this post office fairly often and I would walk there since it was close by (plus the lot is small which made walking more sensible). It gave me a nice break from the office. The postal workers here are very friendly and helpful. It's usually pretty busy and I've never seen them get annoyed with a customer (or vice versa). Most of them speak Mandarin and Cantonese in addition to English, which is very fitting for Temple City's demographic. You can even get a sense of community here since when you see the customers and workers greet each by name. They even noticed once when I didn't come in for awhile! The people who work here are what gives this post office 5 stars. I was waiting in line once and overheard a sweet exchange between one of the workers and a customer. He was showing a lady the different stamps they had. He showed her some new superhero stamps to which the lady responded "But you guys are my superheroes!" (Awwww). read more

I had dropped off a BIG package that came with insurance. However, my package was never scanned. I was really worried because I don't know where the heck the package is or if it was stolen. Luckily, the package was scanned into different state. I was told that if your package was never scanned in you wouldn't be able to claim for LOST PACKAGE INSURANCE. I hate USPS services. I will be looking for different shipping services because all post office isn't consistent with there services and there customer service is EXTREMELY POOR. read more

She didn't tell me the amount of the charge before she printed out the stickers. She just printed it and slapped it on the box when protocol I believe is, they ask you if the amount is ok. When I told her that I won't pay that and to go ahead and remove the stickers, MAN!!! She was slamming the sticker on the receipt and giving me the evil eye. LOL!!! Crazy woman!!! I usually go a little before noon and I've never waited more than 5 mins. I suggest going during off hours to make your visit a more positive experience! read more

If I could rate the service here I would give it a 0 star. This place has terrible service and I will never come back! It was my first time filling out a passport, and I had made some mistakes with the pictures and application. Instead of having an employee help us with our mistakes, the employee Jaime (pronounced Hi-May), would give us attitude by being rude (sighing, sounding frustrated, talking back, etc.) and at one point he threw his stuff onto the table and walked away. Stupid usps temple city! I have request change of address since Sep, but I haven't received any mail being forwarded!!! 3 month, I wondering what these guys doing there? I have called bunch of times regarding to this issue. They told me once that this problem has been solved I will be received forwarded mail soon.
