I've actually never had a major issue with service, but I do tend to visit here in the early afternoon on weekdays. The self-serve kiosk is a huge help. My major complaint lies in the inconsistency of their deliveries. The first class envelopes that I send sometimes go missing or arrive days after I originally intended. Send Priority Mail if and when you can to prevent this from happening. USPS in general is an outdated institution. This location is overall a mixed bag. read more

The Sunnyside USPS office has to be the worst Post office ever, starting from the mail men assigned to routes several times they have left my packages outside of my mailbox in the main lobby of a building with 100 apartments. (Who does that?) Other times they claim to deliver my packages and who knows where they leave them. This is one of the worst post offices I have seen. Starting with the terribly long lines you endure while waiting to send pkgs or other business to the lack of professionalism by postal workers and mail carriers, this place deserves NO STARS!!! If you live on 45th street hopefully you will get your pkgs and mail delivered PROPERLY. So far I have had lots of missing mail, wrong names and addresses in my box and pkgs gone missing. Sad that people don't care about doing their JOB the right way anymore, all they want to do is breeze through the day and collect their paycheck at the end of the week. read more

I am deeply disappointed by some of the employees that work at the Sunnyside Post Office. I believe they are "hard workers," but they do need training on etiquette. Being a postal worker means that you help and serve others and if that's not your thing, GTFO. Some will tell you anything to make you go away or leave them alone. They won't make the "extra" effort to help you (it's your job and that's what you get paid to do!). I also know that at the end of the day, a negative review isn't going to change anything but if the Post Master does read this and wants specifics, I'll be more than willing to share all the horrible experiences I have had with this location. read more

The hours here aren't good, the lines can be a slog, and the temperature is always either freezing or burning, but I had decent experiences sending packages here until today. I get to the front of a long line, and the postal employee (a nasty older woman with glasses) tells me I have to fill out the tracking number form. I've never had to fill out this form before, ever, and I've sent many many packages using it. It's just a personal FYI and the post office doesn't use the filled-out part. She said to fill it out and get in the back of the line. I went to the UPS store and paid so much more, but it was worth it not to deal with this horrible woman. read more

Usually pleasant people. Do not go here before noon. Over crowded and one person trying to service the whole line. They will not ship anything for you before 10am. So if your in the rush, it'll be a big mistake thinking you'll be in and out of their fast. read more

This place is F-ING joke and deserves negative stars! They are the laziest and rudest bunch of people I've ever encountered. I can't stand how the carriers just leave the mail bags in the middle of the sidewalks. Letting your mail to be stolen. Then the carrier is to lazy to walk a measly 8 steps to let your package with you but instead gives to the Super! They wonder why everyone hates the post office and why they are losing their jobs. Somehow I always get letters that are not meant for me. Usually I put them back in the mail box. But it is happening too often. I wonder if my mails also get sent to different addresses. I have always thought this post office to be mediocre at best, but today I was really annoyed. It was my understanding that they open at 9am, but although the door was open, there was a clerk in the window, and she was giving people their packages, she explained to me that she could not mail any packages until the official opening time of 10am. First of all, it is ridiculous that a post office in a metropolitan area has such limited hours. The little post office in my parents' rural upstate NY town opens earlier in the morning than this. Second, if you are going to have the door unlocked and an employee present, it is just annoying that 9am-10am is not full service. read more

It's conveniently located in the heart of Sunnyside, off of Queens Blvd. on 44th Street. As most reviewers mentioned: don't expect to find parking and office hours are a typical work day shift, 9-5pm and Sat. 9-1pm. I've never had issues with staff at the office. They're friendly and during many of my visits; I'm in and out within 20 mins. A bit of a musty atmosphere with a wall-hung TV on NY1 in the background. My concern lies with those that deliver mail. It's not illegal to write on mail but whomever delivers my mail writes passive aggressive messages on them constantly. I don't always have control over how a sender writes my address - some do not include an apt. # - but it will have my name, which is also on my mailbox. Most cases, I end up with a piece of mail (with his/her writing) proclaiming, "if it happens again - you won't get your mail" or I get a "sorry we missed you" yellow slip. I've spoken to the PO Master but complaints go unattended to. Does this happen to you? read more

I just went to pick up a package and it's Saturday. I didn't know they close at 1pm. It was 1:15 pm when I got there. The guy standing at the door said the windows were closed but when I said I was coming to check my P.O. Box he let me in. I stood there for a good 7 minutes before I got someone's attention and they took my yellow slips and grunted all the way in the back to fetch my packages. When the packages came out they were very big and I said I can come back in 5 minutes with a cart. He barked at me saying no I could not do that and to come back on Monday. The Asian man was extremely rude and made me know that I disturbed him by asking for help after the PO closed. My question is if he was going to be so rude because he was working after the place closed and agreed to find my packages why didn't he just say the post office was closed to begin with instead of going out of character and try to be nice. Lovely people working here, kind and friendly and patient. I have never had a problem and have been going to this PO for more than 10 years.

It's the US Postal Service, so there's only so much you can expect. The hours are lame: window service doesn't start until 10 AM. But the people are pretty nice. Some of them actually seem to really enjoy their jobs. read more

It deserve one star because one of the staff, a Chinese, was very rude. Some of the staff are helpful, but some of them like I mentioned about needs to be educated or needs to be remind of how to treat the customers. I know some customer are rude too but while working, you have to be professional. Being rude and disrespectful show how our American society is declining to a ghetto culture. shady post office with lazy workers, the mail man mark packages delivered on bad weather days when they are not delivered, because of this i have to contact shipper for replacement item, only to have the first item show up days later, today it 2/24/2016 happened again saying my package was delivered and left with individual at 5:16pm, glad i have a video cameras now in front of my house and will be filing a complaint with the post office showing them no mail man came and will also be sending the footage to the local news. read more

Danielle at the Sunnyside PO is an ANGEL!!!. My tax documents said they were delivered by the Woodside post office and they WERE NOT!! The tracking number said they were but it wasn't. Danielle came to the rescue and helped get an email to the Woodside Post Office, which is a total disaster area, they never pick up the phones, let calls just drop, absolutely the WORST!!! After hours literally of trying to reach them, I called back to Sunnyside, Danielle jumped in to help by sending an email to the Woodside office in hopes of finding the package that they DID NOT DELIVER ALTHOUGH THEY SAID THEY DID!! Rhonda . She is my favorite . I sell in EBay and I always need it help with shipping. I use post offices from NY to Baltimore depend where I need to travel from workplace. I travel a lot. Back to this post office next to my house , every time I see Rhonda I know that my experience will be top notch. I never knew her name until last time when I decided to ask because I knew is time for me to let everyone know what wonderful she is. She never been bother by my accent or my lack of experience with shipping. It might not be the fastest but when is turn I know that I get full attention and outmost help. read more

Every time I get a package from UPS or FEDEX. No problem. If my packages are sent via USPS. Big problem!! The other carriers have no issues getting in the building and ringing the bell or dropping with the super. But they can't!! They say "couldn't access the building" ???? Sounds more like they don't want to carry packages and they bring them back to the station and let people go through hell to retrieve them. I have gotten notices of delivery attempts while I was home! Even saw the delivery man from my window carrying ZERO packages out of the truck. What's going on? Trying to make an appointment to bring a passport application. They don't pick up the phone! I live 2 blocks away and if I can avoid going. I am happy. They look so miserable and entitled to treat you like dirt at this location. The line is not the worst, I have seen people yelled at for asking the wrong questions. One Asian lady tried with me and I gave her a polite and diplomatic FY back. They are way too comfortable. Does anyone review the service from each locations or the feedback from customers???
