The South Jordan post office is probably one of the worst post offices in the State of Utah. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The employees are crusty. The service is painfully slow. There are times when there is only one worker and the line is out the door. The parcel bin at the self service is always locked. Now, I realize there are bins at the front where you can drop off your parcels, but that is beside the point. It would take five seconds to unlock the damn parcel bin. I see employees eating in the break room, stuffing their faces with junk food, while one worker is handling the line out the door. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. They keep their cool despite the long lines around the holidays. I had a situation today where a package said it was delivered to my box but wasn't there. They were so helpful and by the time I got home there was a message that they determined it was delivered to my neighbor. Thanks for being so efficient! read more

I've lived in South Jordan for 20 years. Sometime I may go to other USPS offices but this location is my much preferred. The lobby is usually clean and organized; the employees are always helpful and friendly. read more

First time at this post office and by far my favorite. The two employees working there were friendly. Amid was the one who helped me with my shipment-he was efficient, willing to help and very informative. My visit was fast and pleasant. The store itself was organized and clean. read more

The fact that I'm even taking the time to post a review here (especially a negative one) should tell you how big this problem with mail delivery in South Jordan is. I'm a "try to have the most generous interpretation of the situation" --- "understand before being understood" kind of gal, but folks, after three years of living in this city, this is a HUGE ISSUE. This South Jordan post office as a place to visit may be ok, but the delivery service they provide to South Jordan residents, especially in Daybreak, is not acceptable. Carriers will mark packages delivered yet they were not put in the right box, costing residents a lot of TIME and ENERGY trying to track down the orders they have ordered and not received via US Mail. I have seriously had banks call me and stop my cards because a statement was returned to them saying they sent it to an incorrect address. Maybe the USPS should make that their new marketing slogan, "We have the power to screw up your vacation by returning your mail - bahaha!!!" The best part is UPS is now subcontracting to US Mail and if you order something and the US Mail says they've delivered it, or you have issues with delivery, UPS throws up their hands and tells you to call USPS. You're totally screwed. Your sender has a delivery confirmation and you have no package... Joy to the world. If you call the USPS 1-800 number, you absolutely cannot get a live person to discuss the issue. Google "get a live person at USPS on the phone" or just check out this post (https://www.howtoselloncraigslistebook.com/how-to-get-a-human-at-1-800-ask-usps/) to see how that will go for you... The USPS continues to change their IVR (Interactive Voice Response System) so they don't have to take your calls. I guess as a government agency with no competition for local US mailbox access, they can do that. I'm beyond frustrated with our carrier and delivery. They don't care about their customers. They don't care about excellence or doing a good job. It's ridiculous that they can stay in business when they don't even put mail in the right place on a regular basis. Most of my neighbors pay for a UPS box at the local UPS store just so they can ensure that they get their mail correctly. That's ridiculous. read more

I have no words left for these guys and girls. I've now had 4 packages stolen with a combined worth of around $250. They mark a package 'delivered' and I never see it. The USPS website breaks whenever I try submit a theft report, and when I call they just say 'nothing we can do about it'. I am starting to suspect the USPS employees are involved in these thefts. read more

I had a time-sensitive and very expensive package sent to me first priority. It was signature required- the normal procedure for something like this. The USPS truck came up, put a note with some letters in my mailbox, and left. They left before I could flag them down. I checked the mailbox and it said that a signature was required for a package and "Sorry we missed you while you were out." I was home and watched it happen. They didn't try to walk the 20 feet to bring the package to my door directly in front of my mailbox and knock or ring the doorbell. I couldn't think of a justifiable reason for this behavior... I don't have animals to worry about. I have a level, broad, and clean walkway from the mailbox to the front door. There doesn't seem to be a rational excuse for this blatant negligence. It appears to me that getting out of the truck to deliver a first priority signature-required package delivered is too much to ask of an employee hired for this purpose. Perhaps I should have gone out of my way to request that the sender go through a different courier. We'll see. I am going into the office now to inquire and will update this review. 2 stars for now... hopefully I can give them more, let's wish them luck. read more

This "service" is the absolute worst. Not only have I now filed multiple complaints, but have begun to look into pressing charges against its workers and this office. They have removed our packages and held them multiple times, made complaints about over hanging trees (that were city and HOA compliant), and complaints about our dogs (after they routinely tell them to "shut up" through our fence). Their egregious lack of professionalism and ability to problem solve has left our family feeling discriminated against and extremely frustrated. read more

I purchased an item that was delivered to my house by USPS. The problem is they placed it right in the middle of my driveway leaning against my garage door. Of course, it got run over. The only way that could have been prevented is if I would have opened the garage door, then walked outside and did a walk around of my vehicle. This could have been prevented if it was just placed to the side of the garage door. I made a claim through USPS. They instructed me to bring it into my local post office which is thus location. They told me verbally that my claim would be approved and took the item, a $90 value. I thought the issue was solved. A few weeks later I received a letter from USPS saying my claim was denied for not bringing in the item. I appealed and stated I DID bring the item in. My appeal was declined. So now, I am not only out the $90 but I also don't have the damaged item to return to the original vendor to try and get a refund. How can a business TAKE the item, then NOT PAY for it. This Post Office is the best in SLC! They take care of people fast and efficiently. I have had 0 issues along with many other people I have spoken with. The employees become more friends than just someone who works there. I read the statements above and was disgusted by what they left on here. They are acting like the guy who delivers their mail is horrible when all Mail officers miss packages and sometimes can't carry a huge package to your door. They have a rule about how big the package can be otherwise you have to pick it up,,, if you don't like that use UPS then lol These guys deserve 5 stars across the board, they have never screwed up on my mail, that's usually previous to this office. read more

They never answer their phone, it'll ring busy, or go to a recording saying they aren't available to pick up the phone, no option to receive a call back or leave a message. Then the kicker comes when they actually answer the phone, they make it sound like you're greatly inconveniencing them, and they try to get you off the phone as soon as possible, or put you on hold, or have you call some other place. They're not good at problem solving when you have a concern. This is a horrible place to work with when calling in. Use UPS/FEDEX for shipping if you ever get the chance, not the USPS, especially the one in sojo UT read more

Pure trash. We are ALWAYS getting our neighbors mail (even from a different street name/address) and now we have a missing package because our pathetic mail carrier CAN'T READ ADDRESSES TO SAVE THEIR LIFE! They need to start hiring competent employees who can actually read. read more

The absolute worst postal SERVICE!! Keyword is "service." Our postman forgets his job is for the postal SERVICE. He is rude and never ever knocks on my door for package pickup request even though I write in the description, "PLEASE KNOCK ON MY DOOR AND CHECK IF ALL MY PACKAGES ARE PUT OUTSIDE." He comes at irregular times and sometimes I have packages ready I just need to hand him. I'm running a business out of my home and shipping 5-25 packages a day. Is it really so hard to knock on my door?? He refuses to!! It's disappointing with people who choose to be in the service industry are big ol scrooges and have no place servicing people. I NEVER post reviews. Especially bad ones. But I haven't been this frustrated in a long time. I moved to South Jordan 6 weeks ago and this is the 2nd problem I have had with the South Jordan post office since I moved from Sandy. This last problem: I had a package "delivered" on Saturday that was never actually delivered to me. I tried to contact the post office...busy signal ALL day. So I thought to myself....I bet the package will be delivered on Monday. Monday morning I called at the crack of dawn, they told me the package was delivered to a house on the street just below mine. I tried to find it: non-existent address. Then I tried calling them ALL morning. Busy signal. My phone said I tried to reach them 117 times and it was still busy. So I went in. I told the employee there and he said "ya, it's probably off the hook!" I told them my dilemma (again) and they said that they would look in to it and call me back. All day, still nothing. I tried calling them a few hundred more times (not exaggerating here) with a busy signal on the other end. So for the second time in one day I had to drag my 8 1/2 month pregnant body with kids in tow to see what was going on. (I'm being persistent, but need this package tonight) and this is the reply I get. "It's been so busy I haven't had time to do anything with this." Then when I told them about the phone line "we have just been so busy." Vague answers. No apologies about me going in there for the 2nd time in a day. I am an understanding person but you guys need to PUT YOUR PHONE BACK ON THE HOOK! There needs to be a reliable form of communication with their patrons.
