90% of employees there are VERY RUDE! They need to be replaced and reminded that they work for us! Having said that Ms. Chrissy is always smiling and super professional and friendly, She is the one and ONLY ! Thank goodness for her! If I could give zero stars, I would. The staff at this location are consistently rude, dismissive, and flat-out unprofessional. They talk down to customers and act like you're a problem just for needing basic services. On top of that, this location has a real issue with packages going missing or not getting scanned. I ship for my business, and I'm required to get a receipt as proof of drop-off. If something isn't scanned, I take the hit -- financially and with my seller account. So no, the kiosk and the drop box are not acceptable options for me. And yet, when I wait in line to get a receipt, I'm treated like I'm doing something wrong. I've even been told I "shouldn't be doing that" -- which is ridiculous. I have every right to wait in line to protect myself and my business. This place needs a serious attitude adjustment. Most times you are greeted with a smile and a "Can I help you"? They move like they are busy, and most times, they are. The conversation ends with "Do you need stamps?, followed with a smile, and you are out of there. It is a pleasant experience except for the person in front of you with some complaints, that hold up the line. read more

Submitted a hold mail form three times and no one can seem to explain why they do not have my mail or where the forms myself and husband filled out. I went into the branch because I was missing some very important mail. Mr. Fernando tried his hardest locating my mail but had no luck. Well after I left he continued looking because he must've realized how important this mail was and call to say I was able to find your mail Sir. The postal driver bent a flat package and jammed it into my mail box! Looking at it you would think it was a hard covered book, 8x10 size! They had to know they were damaging what ever it was! I had to get out of my car to fight to get it out, concerned I may not ever get it out! Once out, I realized the 2 tempered glass covers for my iPad were inside and of course both were cracked! The driver HAD to FIGHT to get it in there! The box was bent to fit in, there's a lip on the outer edge of the box and it had to be jammed in, and didn't want to come out passed that raised lip! More is going wrong at the post office on Second St. in slidell then covid-19 can explain! Please stop hiring idiots! #YouHadOneJob! #NotRocketScience! read more

If I could give this a zero rating I would. Yesterday I was outside when the postal carrier passed by. I waved at him, he waved at me. When I went to my mailbox, there was an "Undeliverable" package notice. The carrier had my 4 packages from Amazon.com in the truck and did not bother to deliver them to the door. The next day my wife drives the 6 miles or so to the post office, takes the notice to the post office and asks why they did not deliver them. The worker at the post office shrugged shoulders and said "I don't know. Maybe they were too big" Yes, the boxes were big. No they were not heavy. If the post office had no intention of delivering the packages, they should not have accepted them along with the money for the postage. This is the second time in recent history that the post office has done this to me. read more

It's the main branch of the United States Postal Office in the city of Slidell. The lines are crazy long. The employees are crazily annoyed. None of them are hawt. The only redeeming quality that this P.O. has is the little machine that you can print stamps from with your debit or credit card. I like that I can choose my icon on my stamps. I always get a heart on them because I'm a girl and I like hearts :) Other than that? Nothing. I refer to this particular branch of the USPS as purgatory. read more

Ms. Kiashuanua (excuse my spelling) made my first time post office/passport experience so lovely. I made a passport appt online and could not remember my appt time nor could I find a confirmation email. I thought I made an appt for 1145 but really it was for 1045 So when I showed up at 1100 she kindly informed me that I had missed my time and was helping me set up a new appt when a spot became available due to a "no show." Instead of having me come back at a later date she took it upon herself to go ahead and fit me in. She even helped me fill out part of the application that I had missed. It's so obvious that she truly cares about helping others and has a servants heart. Despite being busy she never got overwhelmed or frustrated. Instead she took the time to show love and kindness and so much patience to a total stranger. so thank you, Ms. Kiashuanua, for being wonderfully you. you made my experience a memorable one, never change! They say my packages are delivered to my door step or in my mail box and they are not there. They will say they made an attempt to deliver my package and they didn't because I was home and they did not even try. I have only lived in this city for a month and a half and I dislike the mail carriers here. read more

something screwy is going on at this location. we recently put a mail hold thru the mail (yellow form) and asked for our mail to be delivered. it never was. went in to inquire and the response we received after checking back room "mail is coming in slowly" we received nothing which is impossible. had to file a complaint with the inspector general website this morning. i can't imagine covid being the reason asked about that and he said "some services are impacted by covid, but not mail delivery" well, we never received three weeks of mail that was put on hold! read more

Spoke to the manager on the phone about an issue in regards to my package and an error in address and she was extremely helpful. However, I came in one day to pick up a package, and one of the employees told me that she wouldn't let me pick it up and that I have to wait until it's delivered. As I was leaving and opening the door, she said,"today is not the time for that." with a smug look while enjoying a few laughs with the other people picking up there packages about it. The line is always out the door here. I'm not sure if it's because there is only 2 workers here at all times but they are always packed and always busy no matter what time of day you go. Id almost rather go to ups and pay the extra money. The rates are pretty expensive, even on their "flat rate" shipping boxes. They have a self service kiosk where you can weigh your package/envelope and choose your price/shipping rate etc. but it's not very self explanatory and one lady I witnessed (while in line) was trying to buy a stamp and ended up buying a $5 stamp instead of the one she actually needed for her package and couldn't get help from any of the actual post office workers. You can get passports here, they have envelopes and such in a small shipping counter. When coming here, don't expect to be in and out. Expect your experience to be a 20 minute ordeal. read more

I have complained a hundred times over my carrier ignoring my scheduled pickups and nothing is done about it. My carrier chooses to leave my scheduled pickups outside of my front door, and not take them, so many times and I'm losing my cool. I've been inside of the office complaining about it, and I've called to complain about it. She's even had the audacity to place my incoming mail ON TOP of my outgoing pickup and left my pickup. It is her job to take my scheduled pickup so I don't understand how she still has a job after years of complaints over this laziness. I have a business and my packages HAVE TO GO OUT! read more

The post office lost 2 skirts that I was returning to an on line company. I learned that you should definitely insure your packages. USPS will send you generic emails stating they are really working hard to locate your package, and after they don't actually do shit, they send a final generic email with a completely fake computer generated apology. Put your trust elsewhere! There is no sincerity or appreciation. read more

Like you I read the reviews before going but bc it was the closest office and I was just dropping off a package I thought it wouldn't matter. I never knew there could be much difference between post offices. The staff was not friendly at all, made a point to take their time and do as little as possible. I notice that most of these reviews are over a year old. I am coming to the defense of the office because I received exceptional service in April of this year - much better than I had at some times in the past. Most of my problems then (in fairness) related to lines and waits which are not within the employees' control anyway, but as humans we are programmed to like instant everything! The incident happened on a Saturday which was an important deadline for me and I hit some snags in preparing my item for mail, so I had to break every law, probably including those of science, to get there before closing and I made it with only 5 minutes to spare! I still had to finish the registered mail cards, but they jokingly promised they weren't going to throw me out. The lady who took care of me was extra patient and helped calm me down and was a great help in getting it done and in the mail. She could tell I was a wreck and that this was a VID (very important deadline)! Kudos are well deserved for these folks who could have easily tried to rush me out of there! Many thanks! read more

I ordered item online (tablet). I checked on the status of the order and it stated it was delivered. Contact the company I ordered from and they advise do to delivery status w/ postal service I must speak w/ the post office. First contact the Manager told me that it was delivered to the wrong box and the delivery person would be putting a note in that person's mailbox referencing it and she/manager would call me back. She never did, I called and left her several messages. When the manager finally called back she stated she did not receive any messages from me and act as though she completely forgot about the postal service delivery a paid in full item to the wrong box. It ended up being that there was nothing that she can do....she ask to write a letter to where I ordered it from but again I explained to her that do to your post office confirming it was received and delivered (wrong box) there is nothing they can do. The manager NEVER offered to reimburse me my $50 for the package that THEY PUT IN WRONG BOX and I got an apology instead of the ordered item or money back from the post office mistake....there should be a liability holding the post office for losing or delivering packages to the wrong address (which she admitted). I would like to see how she would feel if the tables were turned. read more

If I could give this post office zero stars, I would. The customer service by the management is, by far, the worst I have ever dealt with. I know of small children with better manners and communication skills than what is presented at this location. First, my mail carrier failed to deliver an overnight package to me. It was a very important package in which contained personal checks. When I inquired to my carrier, I was told that I was incorrect and that I had received them and forgot about it. When reaching out to management, both Sam and Donna assured me that they would look into this and locate it. They also assured me that the overnight postage I had paid for would be reimbursed to me. That was in June. It is now January and I still have not received reimbursement. Additionally, over a month later my package finally arrived in my box only because the person who was delivered my package was nice enough to finally put it back in the mail to be returned. I was never called about it or followed up with. No one even bothered to investigate the situation. I decided to let it go and move on with life. In October, I put a forward on my mail to become effective several weeks later. I was out of town and when I went to check my mail, everything in my box had been removed. Since the USPS only recognized that I had a forward beginning in November, my packages and mail were all returned to sender or lost in transit. When I went to the post office to speak to management about this, Sam was extremely rude, began raising his voice at me, told me that the issue was my fault, offered no help, and called me a liar. Donna, once again, stepped in and actually was helpful, but stood by without saying a word as Sam continued to berate me. The happiest moment was moving and no longer having to deal with this postal service. If you are looking for helpful service or professionalism, go elsewhere. read more
