12/9/2025 Update Came back today and was yelled at, seriously really unfriendly mail carriers here. -------------------------------------- I have had both good and bad interactions at this US Post Office but my latest venture goes closer to the bad side. I came on my lunch to send out a gift that was to be delivered to Virginia, I thought it would be a fairly simple interaction considering my box was labeled and from labels I had purchased previously, when it was my turn to send my order the rep asked for the barcode from the label I told him I didn't have it, so he rung me up for another one not sure he heard me when I said I brought the label from home. The lady behind me wondered if she had to be in line to drop off an already postaged box and I said she could put it in the bin but when she went to ask the mail carrier he gave her so much attitude, while I understand that this time of year can be overwhelming kindness and empathy goes a long way. For being charged for already purchased and placed labels to the mean spiritedness I don't know if I'll be in there again to send out packages. read more

They don't have labels, they don't have markers, and they don't have change. For a US Post Office to not accept cash is ridiculous.

Conveniently located and never really a long line. The staff is efficient and answers questions and provides options when it comes to different services and rates. I really appreciate this. Do they always answer in a friendly way? No not really but do you really care so much for this or do you want them to be efficient and quick? I prefer the latter! So be patient and less judgmental so you can just get through the line and get your packages and letters out with minimal issues. Oh and fill out the survey provided on the receipt! read more

Horrible staff, Debbie is incredibly rude. She said my tape was "not allowed" with no reasoning and I had to purchase an entire roll of their tape. It was only about 4 inches of tape total. Highly recommend a different location. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

I've had a post office box at this location for a couple of years until it was time to move. 6 years later, life is taking me back to San Diego and I was lucky enough to obtain the same box!! I flew out for a weekend to prepare for my move. When I showed up at the post office, it was so nice to see a familiar face! The gentleman who helped me, has been at this location for as long as I can remember! He is still the friendly, happy, and helpful professional behind the counter. It was great to see a friendly face! He assisted with my application, updated my address in the system and gave me tips for forwarding my mail, placing a hold on my incoming mail until I return to pick it all up. He shared that the USPS.com services online will allow to do everything! It's that easy! I have been using the USPS.com service, after creating my account and registering my mailing address(es), I am able to see all the mail making its way to me, packages to expect and how it was delivered, purchase stamps and pre-paid mailing labels! It's utterly convenient!! Location: Mission Valley Mall, adjacent to the Macy's Furniture Store and Len's Crafters Parking: open lot behind and in front of Macy's Furniture Store with closest access to the post office. Facility: clean and organized, secured and easy access to post office boxes. There is no self-serve kiosk, however, using the USPS.com app is just as convenient, only better because you don't have to drive there. Print your label, affix to you package and drop off at any opened USPS or UPS locations! The store offers greeting cards, gift cards, packaging supplies, priority and express boxes, registered and certified mail options and of all sizes, and money order. read more

This has to be the most unhappy post office location. There is a noticeable pleasure in saying no, and no effort in helping how to send a package. Every time I go in, it's obstacles. Without solutions. Oh, yea, that would be customer service. Can't have that. You would think any manager would want their staff to be helpful. WORST EMPLOYEE & WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give zero stars I would. Had the most absolutely rudest greeting from an elder red headed clerk. Upon arrival I said hello and smiled asked if they had any customs forms and then looked around for a pen. She then immediately spoke In a demeaning tone. "AND NO WE DONT HAVE PENS." she continued to speak with sarcasm and a rude tone. I stayed quiet and smiled through the insulting interaction. Every time I got back in line because "it wasn't going to work" I filled out the forms , she pointed and exclaimed to fill out boxes she had not been clear about. Once again I got back in line she said again "not going to work" instead of being helpful and polite she was the most unprofessional and rudest employee I've ever encountered. She then told us to go to another post office at the end of the encounter because she didn't want to help us out. read more

I'm sorry, this guy looked at me and my package for the 22 minutes I waited in line and with a big racist smile told me he wouldn't ship my package cause my tape wasn't strong enough, when I use the same tape all the time. So I retaped it and then he told me no on the tape either because it's not clear? What???? I listened to his blabbering for 22 minutes on 3 guests and then pulls that racist ceus. Not cool white point Loma. I pay taxes, which means I own him. And basically I'm his boss, so I consider him fired. Horrible place read more

This is a smaller location, I needed to stop by while on vacation to pick up some postcard stamps. The folks here were really friendly - However the queue was rather long and their system seemed to be slow so it was quite a wait. read more

Parcel was delivered to my box and immediately returned to sender again? Last time they did this they were wrong as per conversation with Brandon of upper management. So, I know one staff member is an idiot, but she isn't actually the manager at this office. Who is? Perhaps they're the engine of the idiocy of this office. To get my parcel back I'll have to print another label and have the post iffice pick it up from the person who sent it to me. They're disabled, so it's challenging for them to make it to the post office in person. One thing I've learned about those who are troglodytes: they're not that way with everyone. So perhaps your experience at this office will be fantastic. But by the reviews left here it's probable it won't. read more

This little post office in point Loma usually has the best customer service. Kevin is an excellent employee. We have had him on several occasions. He is very consistent with his customer service. I have used the main post office before and not the same experience. They carry greeting cards as well as some packaging supplies. Keep in mind it is a smaller facility, but it will probably meet your needs for shipping/mailing. There are also a couple of mailbox bins on the street in front of this post office. If you just need to pull up and drop off your mail. read more

This is a little rinky-dink Post Office nestled into "The Village" of Point Loma. Recently placed on a list of Post Offices slated to be closed in a federal cost cutting measure, the Point Loma location somehow escaped the hatchet. Though it is small and perhaps under-utilized, the well-connected citizens of the area probably put the right kind of pressure on the right kind of people to save their P.O. Why I had to ax 2 Yelp Stars off is: absolutely NO PARKING. There is a little street parking, if you are lucky but otherwise you are on your own down there. Take your chances in the pharmacy parking lot across the street. Another Yelp Star withheld due to a mailbox drive-up drop box on the (right) passenger's side of the car. Which means to mail a letter, you gotta pull up, park the car, jump out and stick it in! I also miss the stamp machine all the P.O.'s pulled out but won't whoop off another Yelp Star because that is not their fault. I hope this little baby P.O. can hold on. I go out of my way to drop a quickie letter here to help keep their mail volume up. read more

I'll start off with a positive note. When I stopped in the other day to pick up some flat rate envelopes just before they closed, the lady behind the counter was helpful. She asked me, unprovoked, if I needed any help while I was looking at the Priority Mail flat rate stand. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh that experience. The only parking that is available is on the street, and this is a busy street. The drive-up mail drop boxes are on the right side, meaning you have to park and get out of your car to drop mail into the boxes. And what I find most inconvenient is that there is no package drop off in the lobby. This means you have to wait for when the retail desk is open to drop off a package, which somewhat negates the convenience of paying for shipping and printing labels at home. read more

UPDATE: I found out by going into the post office in person that the package was not delivered because the UK post office put a restriction on the package and had the person I sent it to pay an import fee. The US post office says they have no control over that. Not their fault. I am very upset with them!! I spent $60 to ship a gift overseas, and I just tracked my package and it says "item undeliverable due to fees" I SPENT $60!!!! what the heck. I tried to call them but the regular post office number doesn't have anything but that recorded voice and it never gives you a number you can punch in for this problem. If you call the phone number for this office it just rings and rings and rings. Customer service? I don't know.... read more

I should have read the reviews before I came here, and I would have gone the midway location (where I ended up anyway). One of the people who was working was super nice. Unfortunately, I ended uP at the other counter, where I had the worst postal worker I have ever encountered.She told me to go somewhere else if I didn't like how she was treating people. So I did. I like this little post office tucked away in Point Loma. I don't know if I always time it right, but the longest line I've experienced was only two people deep and I found parking right outside the building. Sure there's no parking lot but that's expected for this area of Point Loma. The only time this place is misery is in the summer time because there is no AC and only a weak fan is keeping the staff cool behind that counter. Actually drove to the Midway branch US Post Office today because Debbie refused to help me. I had one small clothing item tucked into the Flat Rate Cardboard envelope. Envelope sealed completely. Because it was not flat Debbie refused to honor Flat Rate Fee and insisted on charging by weight $14.35 When attempting to show her that the envelope was securely sealed she YELLED for me to "BACK OFF" I simply drove out of my way to the next post office who accepted the flat rate package for $5.35 like Debbie should have. I did go back in to Canon Street to get Debbie's name and I did take the time to file a written complaint. This is not the only time with her. Nearly every time I use that post office Debbie is arguing with someone in the line. The USPS needs to do something about her. read more

Completely disappointed by the service here. I came to ship two items expecting to have access to padded flat rate envelopes but the clerk informed me that its my responsibility to order them online. This is the first post office I've encountered that has told me that. As a result, i ended up paying DOUBLE what i was supposed to for shipping. An absolute scam and complete unprofessionalism from this location. Heres an idea: why dont YOU order the envelopes and keep them stocked for your customers?? I've ordered supplies online before and they usually take a few WEEKS on average to arrive. A rude and unreasonable request. I really hope that the higher ups in this company take note and correct this. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. I live right across the corner, that's why I ended up going back to this place-just because the location is super convenient. The lady working there (M.L.) is the absolute most horrible experience when it comes to customer service in my whole life. During my last visits (including the one today), she was arguing with the clients in front of me. Last time her vicitim was an old man, today she was really nasty to a friendly young lady. Instead of taking care of the next customer in line (me), she called the young lady's employer to complain about her. WTF is wrong with this lady??? Is that the duty of an USPS employee? I do have my doubts. Even though she went to the back, everyone could listen how she was complaining about the young lady. Oh, during my last visit, M.L. said to me that she can refuse service to everyone because I told her that I think she treated the old man in front of me inadequately. The staff were, unfortunately, very rude to all the customers I saw them helping, including myself. They were also experiencing technical difficulties with the card reader and went about telling everyone in a very unapologetic manner, not offering to let those of us who had been waiting for 30+ minutes keep our place in line after grabbing cash from the ATM. Next time I'll drive to a farther-away post office, I'll still save time. read more

I have never had such compassionate and personalized service in a long time. Mia, our mail carrier, and Rosie, stationed in the Post Office both went above and beyond for an issue I was having with 3 boxes I sent to my brother in New Orleans that were never delivered and sent back to me. They ensured that they were resent back to him and delivered! This was truly appreciated since my brother is handicapped and was unable to go to the post office in New Orleans to pick them up. After waiting in a long line, I got to the front and asked to purchase a box larger than the boxes they have on the store floor. The first lady was helpful and went to look for a box. The other lady told her to stop looking for a box and tend to the rest of the line. Meanwhile I was standing there and never got help -- as I'm packing a newborn baby and three bags of gifts to mail.
