US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Salem, Oregon

It has been 5 weeks since i moved into my new apartment and the key I was given for the mailbox did not work. I went to this location to initiate a new lock installed and was told it would be 2 weeks. In this time, I have been having to go from the location on 3624 Commercial to the 1050 25th st. The difference in customer service at this location is astounding. The large man with grayish hair is the most incredibly rude and dismissive person and from several other reveiws, I am not only one reporting him as such. I went in because informed delvery said my pkg was delivered to 3624 Commercial P.O. due to there being a hold on my mail (until I get a new key) this pkg was a medical test ordered by my doctor and was time sensitive. When I went to the counter, the rude employee was at the next terminal over and listening to the conversation. The girl at the terminal just kept asking for me to show her the informed delivery email. I asked her to please go check for my pkg, she refused to leave the counter and kept saying it isn't here and basically saying I never received such an email as they don't take pkgs there (???) the rude employee next to us chimed in with a "its not here" at which point I started to walk away from the counter trying to hold in my anger at both of them, but failed when the girl behind the counter said WOW like I had done something wrong! I lost it. The big guy kept yelling HAVE A NICE DAY to every word I said from there on out. He is rude and dismissive of customers without reason and if the complaints here are any indication, he should not even have a job anymore. I sure wouldn't if I treated customers the way he does at my job! Beware here..oh and I did finally find the Informed Delivery regarding my test and YES it was delivered to the 3624 location and SENT BACK tot he sender that same day! No attempt to send it to the correct location, nothing. No wonder they both knew my pkg was not in the back since they sent it back to sender! If you can, go elsewhere,do so. read more

Whomever carrier is - there is ALWAYS problems here. Neighbors get your critical mail. The package system is a complete fiasco! The boxes all had no identifying number, so you had to try all of them. Now the package key I have for box B doesn't work in Box B! It's a postal nightmare that never gets better! read more

I hate to write bad reviews, but this has to be shared. I ordered a package that required a signature, and when it didn't arrive, I requested a redelivery through the USPS website. I waited home all day, and even put a note on my door saying that if I didn't answer, I would be in the backyard and to just go to the gate. After a couple of days, I went to the post office address posted on the delivery slip. That post office said nope, it's not here, it's at your local post office. So, I went there. The postal worker said that the box was marked that a redelivery was attempted. No it wasn't. He then said, "I have no idea." It wasn't his fault, but he wasn't very friendly. A few months ago, my medication was delivered to the wrong address and I had to hunt down the postal carrier to find it had been delivered to the wrong address. Now I pick up my meds at the pharmacy. I told the postal worker this too... no response. I really want USPS to survive, but the way it's going, that too will be privatized. They need to do better. I gave two stars because when I have had to mail a package, I had good service. read more

The U.S. Post Office Is A HORRIBLE Department To Deal With. Our Mail Carriers Jam So Many Pieces Of Mail Into Our Mailbox, It Is So Hard To Pull Out Our Mail. We Went To Our Local U.S. Post Office To Talk With A Supervisor. We Even Brought Him Back To Look @ The Mailbox. We Have A Long & Narrow Box. It Is Just One Of About (15). The Supervisor Opened Up Their Side So We Could Get Our Mail. I Noticed That Their Side Was An Open Rectangle. On Our End There Is A Lip Up Top. That Is Why We Cannot Get Our Mail When Everything Has Been Jammed In. We Talked To That Supervisor, AGAIN! He Turned Out To Be A Waste Of Time. It Wouldn't Stop. read more

I had some trouble trying to locate my package I contacted corporate and quickly received a call from Nate. He informed me it hadn't arrived at his location yet. He also offered some suggestions for the next place to look. 2 days after my original call I received another phone call from Nate he made me aware it was out for delivery that day! The follow-up call was way above and beyond what I expected. Very thankful for the assistance throughout the process and attention to detail!!! read more

If anyone is looking for a fair review of this USPS location this is it. Over three years, I have shipped out large and small items ranging in high to low values at this location without any challenges. I want to mention Daniel by name, he has helped me save money and time in every conceivable condition including long lines and fellow time crunched customers. Daniel as an employee serving the public is an example of an ideal service specialist, he is always focused on the best possible solution for each customer. Getting into his line you know you will be taken care of without delay or misinformation. If you want to get things done at the post office Daniel is there to do just that. Get it done. read more

Great service, friendly staff. I mail packages from this location regularly without problems.

Useless. Rude and incompetent. Went in to pick up mail that our jerk mail carrier refused to deliver and asked to speak to the supervisor, John, because we were honestly stumped as to why the jerk mail carrier refused to deliver our mail. John couldn't be bothered to come speak to my dad, an injured 86 year old man leaning on the counter in pain and heavily relying on his cane. The equally useless and rude teller, Daniel, who called the supervisor went to get our mail and then rudely brushed us off, getting increasingly annoyed when my dad tried to explain the situation. There wasn't a long line and there were at least 2 other open cashiers. Why he couldn't take 5 minutes to politely talk to my dad, I have no idea. He acted like it was his right to behave rudely and without basic consideration for people--we weren't even being rude at this point. I mean I can go there but I was holding back and letting my dad try reasonably ask for help. I hate it when people disrespect and ignore the elderly like they don't matter. Though for all I know, that could have been Daniel's MO with everyone. So frustrating because there's not a damn thing we can do about it. There's no complaint department for a government office. read more

Absolutely USELESS employees at this location! The carriers constantly mix up my mail with the neighbors. On several occasions, we had packages that required a signature and the carrier didn't even bother coming to my door, yet stuck a "Sorry we missed you" notice in my locked mailbox out on the street. IF they ever answer the phone (which is rare), they lie and tell you they'll send someone out the next day to redeliver and no one ever comes. The heavy set girl with the glasses at the counter needs a serious lesson in customer service. She's rude and snotty. I've never come across such inept and moronic employees before. Must be nice to be able to be terrible at your job and never get fired. read more

Worst post office, ever. Worst customer service. Worst mail carriers. These people could care less about our mail. I have had my mail delivered to my neighbor for over two years. We unfortunately have the same last name and building number. For whatever reason, check unit letter and first name is too difficult. She's gotten stuff from social security, pge... My dvds, packages. Has admitted to opening and tossing stuff. I have spoke to the manager 4 times. I have filed a claim and not a single thing has been done. How unsettling. They won't comp me a box, either. Even though their carrier is, and has admitted to messing up my mail!! Never thought I'd consider which post office I'll have when looking for a new home. This is sad. read more

I never thought I would bother reviewing a post office but I also never thought I would be treated so poorly in one either. When my son and I walked in, it was completely dead. I had a package to return and the printed return label so I walked up to the counter and the first thing that the lady (I believe her name was Ester) says is "those should be ready before you bring them up." Fine, that may be true but who trained her in customer service? So now I'm feeling awkward and go to turn around and she drops the tape gun in front of me on the counter. I tape up the package, a small plastic bag/envelope, and ask if there's a slip for the return label. She snaps at me that I need to tape that on the front. I look down and my son is visibly nervous by how rude this lady is being to me. Apparently I'm not good at taping paper to a package because I leave some of the bottom untapped and when I hand it to her she says "Are you really just going to leave this like that?" in this ridiculously snotty tone. I say yes and get my receipt and leave. Three minutes later I walk into the UPS Store a bit down the road for a couple other completely unorganized returns that happened to have UPS labels and the wonderful older gentlemen there tells me to bring them over to the counter and that he'll just take care of it. read more
