Not impressed. The parcel bin was locked. I realize at some post offices there are bins laying around to put your parcel in. However, at this location I couldn't see any other way to drop off my parcel other than to stand in a very long line and wait. When I got to the counter, I asked the bozo "is there a reason the parcel bin is locked?" In a lippy tone he replied "we're short staff and too busy to deal with the parcel bin". I replied " is there a way to unlock or un-jam the parcel bin?" He said " well, If you would like to work here, or if you know anyone who would like to work here, we'd have time to deal with the parcel bin." It would literally take them five seconds to unlock the damn parcel bin. They won't do it out of pure laziness. read more

Friendly people, but they need to do their job better. I brought in 10 Etsy orders today that I had prepaid for shipping and they just ignore the boxes saying "Fragile" and chucked them in the bin behind them which is about 6-8ft away. One of the boxes totally missed the bin and fell on the floor, I'm sure the items are broken now. It says fragile for a reason! I had a few customers last week asking for a refund or replacement because their products arrived broken. I shouldn't have to spend money to send replacements when I wasn't the one breaking them. read more

I would give our post office in Riverton a negative rating. To include their delivery. Mailboxes are moved without notification of the move, incorrect mail is left in boxes, packages are left with broken keys and no notice of what box they are left in, as they cannot label the keys correctly...AND they left packages without locking the locks! So anyone could get in and take them. This people is what our tax dollars are paying for, terrible service! Yo call them to make a complaint you are on hold for 55 minutes to get your preference of music to listen to (can spend money on that, but not a label to tell you the box your package is in or a notice of moving your mailbox). Spend the extra and use FedEx and UPS. Crappy service for our city. read more

Needed a key for our mailbox so I could check the mail due to the homeowner not checking the mail frequently enough and not having an additional key. I stopped in told the guy at the counter what I was needing he put in a request and told me it should be available on Tuesday ( I was in on a Saturday). On Tuesday when I got the call that the key was available I was concerned by the voicemail that was left for me stating that they had "REKEYED" the mailbox and the new keys were ready for pick up. I never asked for it to be "REKEYED". I asked for a spare key. When I got to the post office I explained once again that I was the tenant not the homeowner. Showed them my lease again and asked why they took it upon themselves to "REKEY" the box instead of making me a spare key. I was told that sometimes they do not have a master key esp in new developments. So here I had to face my landlord and tell them the box was rekeyed and hopw they didnt get mad at me. Which they did not thankfully but what a hassle. Here is my suggestion: Call the person and ask they if they want it rekeyed if you dont have a master key. Just some food for thought. read more

Unbelievably BAD service! Since moving here 3 months ago I've had packages returned for no stated reason and without any kind of notification left in my mailbox -- had to find out after the fact from vendors. My mail is sometimes delivered to me correctly, sometimes I don't receive my mail, but I get other people's. And then I have to straighten out my returned mail with banks, insurance companies, doctors offices, etc. NEVER had this problem before! Went on a Saturday morning around 9am. It wasn't to bad. There were 5 people in line. I used the kiosk to print out mailing labels for 2 MED flat-rate priority boxes. Then I printed out stamps from kiosk so I didn't need to stand in line. It was fairly easy as boxes are prices on shelf. There was only 3 of us using kiosk and we all used it at different times so no one has to wait for the other. 5 Stars for being able to do what I needed to do and not have any set backs. read more

Every time I've have been to this post office everyone has been so kind, efficient, and helpful. Specifically TAI and SUSAN are awesome. Tai just spent 15 min with me telling me all the ways he could save me money shipping things all over the country. Seriously what more could you ask for from an establishment!? I co-own a business that requires me to mail packages multiple times (sometimes daily) every week of the year. For quite a few years now we have preferred to ship USPS Priority Mail or First Class International. As a result, I have visited nearly every USPS location in both Salt Lake and Utah counties on multiple occasions. Of all those USPS locations, I prefer to use (and am a regular customer) at the Riverton USPS location. The reason that I prefer the Riverton USPS is twofold: 1) the staff is faster at processing orders than most other locations, and 2) the staff is more informed, helpful, and personable than most other locations. In fact, I would always ship from Riverton if they stayed open later throughout the week and on Saturday (some other locations are open between 1 and 3 hours later than Riverton). If you need to mail something and you are in the Riverton or Herriman area...you won't go wrong at the Riverton Post Office. read more

So here I am thinking - how do I write an objective review for a post office? I've reviewed a couple locations before, but it's always been for a specific function, like a passport application. And then it clicked - well I'm here for THE specific function of the Post Office system, it's raison d'être, and the thing that you just take for granted - yes, I needed to mail something! Obvious maybe, but in my case I have family in several states as well as in other countries, so I do tend to sometimes find the need for an actual postal location to assist. I guess you could say "I don't often mail things, but when I do, it's a parcel or going international so I do it at the Post Office". This is my local Post Office, and as such a location I have visited quite a number of times over the year since it opened up. Having a large, full service, and easy to access Post Office location like this with lots of parking was a great boon for us in the Riverton area when it first opened. It has friendly helpful staff who can help advise on the best type of shipping methods to meet requirements for delivery time, cost, safety of your package etc. Sure it can get a little busy here at peak times and of course more so during the holiday times, but mostly service is really fast which keeps lines to a minimum. read more

Never in my life have I been so frustrated with an entity. I have had nothing but grief with the delivery of mail from this post office. It is apparently incredibly difficult, and therefore ridiculous of me to assume that the carrier can check an envelope to make sure it has the right address. Every single day I'll find my neighbor's mail in my mailbox, and if I'm lucky, he'll bring me mine. This becomes frustrating when there's a critical, time-sensitive, $4000 check I'm expecting and my neighbor is out of town, so I have to check both our mailboxes every day and sort through all of his mail and learn more about him than I want to make sure my stuff isn't in there. I've complained directly to the postmaster about this before and always receive the same response: "Oh, that mail didn't specify if it was Unit A or B." Absolute horse, cow, bull, and other large farm animal 'produce.' If anything is addressed to my name and not "Resident" it has our Unit declared on it, because we've never given it out differently, and I've never received anything addressed to me without my Unit declared on it. Spam mail is the only exception to this. In addition to that, the carrier marks things as delivered when they haven't been. More than once I'm expecting a sensitive delivery (can't stay in the sun/weather long) and I get the tracking notification that it's been delivered. I go out to check and it says "delivered into recipient's mailbox." Yes, my 24"x18"x24" package fits perfectly in my less than cubic foot mailbox. I at least DID receive it two days later. UPDATE: I just found out that a few days ago a postal worker from this location came clean about how it is a frequent occurrence to scan packages as delivered when they haven't been. Apparently Public Relations Manager Dave Partenheimer of the USPS said, "The reports you are hearing are not accurate." MAYBE YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT BECAUSE YOU MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK! It takes at LEAST 20 minutes to jump through all of the options to get put into a 30 minute queue to speak with an agent if you call in by phone. Your only other option is to come in during their open hours which are conveniently when anyone who doesn't work night shift has work. That's some top notch dictator bureaucracy right there. Everyone's happy because nobody complains because nobody can complain, right? If you live in Riverton, get a P.O. box in a different city, it's not worth the risk, headache, and pain. Horrible, horrible horrible. I love Riverton, but this is enough to make me look for other cities to move to. read more

We placed an order with Amazon which, once it was shipped, indicated it would be arriving as 2 orders. Everything was still set to arrive on the same day. We were away from home for just a few hours and after arriving back home noticed one of the two orders had arrived and was left on the porch. Looking at the tracking information for the second part of the order it indicated that we were not home and they didn't want to leave it on the porch. Why would they leave part of the other then decide they didn't want to leave the rest? After a few hours we noted the tracking information on the second order changed to say "Delivery Attempt: Held at Post Office, At Customer Request". We did not request it to be held at the post office! We have a ring door bell and have only one recording of them delivering the first part of the order. They never came back or made an attempt to deliver the second part. The only thing that makes sense is when they dropped of the first part of the order they must have overlooked the second part at that time and only noticed their mistake later in the day. So in order to cover their mistake they are claiming we requested it to be held. read more

These guys deliver our mail and in the last 7-8 years we've always received at least one other persons mail or they received ours every time. packages are constantly not in our parcel locker near our house and the keys are always put in the wrong mail box so you end up having to wait even longer after your package was "delivered" hoping one of your neighbors checks their mail soon and finds your key that was suppose to be in YOUR mail box. Worst company to ship or receive a package through. They have the most annoying automated phone receptionist that makes you jump through hoops just to get in line and wait on hold, then your phone call is never answered because this is the USPS. This company needs to be dropped. read more

Worst Post Office in the valley, we ship 50 packages a day yet, mostly droppd off at a different Post office but on Saturdays to the Riverton one. Not anymore, they audit every package that goes through here and have no idea what they are doing, charging more for packages than they should. Riverton needs to retrain their employees who are auditing their packages because they are completely wrong and causing tons of grief to our delivery customers who have to pay more when the package arrives. Used to be great here until the lady who worked the commercial side on back retired, we sure miss her. Please go to any Post Office other than the Riverton one! read more

Worst post office ever! I wish I didn't have to give a star. On several occasions our post man says our packages have been delivered when they clearly have not been. I even went in to the post office yesterday and the gentleman that helped me came back with a sheet of paper saying it had been delivered but surprise surprise NO package was delivered. Totally on board with all the reviews stating they have not received their mail or they receive their neighbors mail. The mail carriers in the Riverton office apparently are too busy to ensure the mail they are delivering is to the correct address, which I am pretty sure is their JOB! Its beyond frustrating when neighbors come knocking on your door with you mail and then its your W2 forms from your job! All I can say is I am thankful my neighborhood is honest and willing to take the extra steps to make sure the mail is going where is needs to since it is apparent the mail carrier does NOT! The Riverton USPS home delivery is the worst delivery service I've ever experienced. Whoever delivers will not bother to get out of his vehicle to bring a package to the door, nor does he leave an attempted delivery notice. The only way I know the items weren't delivered is when I check the tracking and it says delivery attempted. It happened again today, while we were home, so I know no attempt was made. If I had the choice of using UPS for all my deliveries, I would. I've complained in person, but no one seems to care. I guess there's no "service" in their service. read more

The carrier for Heritage Crest Way in zip 84065 likes to mark the parcels for our business "delivered to front desk" (shows on tracking) but does not deliver till the following day. This has happened repeatedly. I'm sure if I complained to the Riverton Post Office it would go nowhere. I love this post office my mother had a great experience- there was a mixup in the mail that was delivered she called the manager and the manager went out and met my mother at her mailbox to take care of it I thought that was going above and beyond the call of duty - anyway I think they're awesome all the people at the front desk of always been really professional and very helpful I don't agree with the negative reviews I think this is one of the best post office is that I've ever been to. When we moved into our new house it took over 6 months for our mail situation to get sorted out because of this place. Now we avoid having to deal with them at all costs. They always deliver our mail to the wrong house so we are constantly swapping mail with our neighbor. I find many associates to be dismissive and rude. Not all associates, but many. They probably do not get paid enough but being friendly and courteous goes a long way. Most staff is not very knowledgeable. The people that deliver our mail are always kind and helpful though. The pick ups take a week to 10 days usually. read more

I gave the Riverton USPS location over $7,300 in business in 2015. One of my shipped packages made it to the recipients door step and no one was home. For SOME REASON they didn't leave it on the door step or bother to leave a note they just shipped the package back to me. I took the package back to the Riverton post office and they demanded I repay the $30+ dollars to ship it again. The young new guy there argued that the post office gets paid to "make delivery attempts" not to actually succeed. HOWS THAT FOR A BUSINESS MODEL??? Last week we had a letter to go out, sit in the mailbox for three before it was taken by the mail carrier. We had the flag up, so we know the mail carrier did not even stop to pick that up. In the past 6 days of possible mail delivery, we have had one day of mail, but companies that we have ordered stuff from, state that the post office stated that delivery could not be made. We have had someone home all day each of those days and not even a doorbell ring. The post office home delivery in Herriman is horrible. We consistently have our neighbor's mail left at our house and some people's mail that live streets away from us. I do not how to fix this, but it has to be fixed. read more

We live on five acres and everything is accessible. They have no problem dropping our packages on the road by the mail box anytime (actually have watched them throw them onto property). This post office is the worst. We watch 3-4 times a week, the post man just drives by our mailbox without stopping. When you try to call the Riverton post office, it just sends you into an endless loop. When I have mailed letters/packages from this post office to other cities in the state of Utah, the recipients either never receive their mail from me or receive it 3 weeks later.
