Lenora at the front counter provided absolutely the worst customer service I ever experienced. She expected me to read her mind when I walked up counter when I said I'm picking up. It's sad that people as miserable as her works for our government. Walking up she instantly got standoffish and started giving me attitude about what I was picking up. Like tell me what you need from me first and I'll provide tracking etc. then she tried insinuating I was at wrong post office despite email with this address. Finally when she returned with package she gave me attitude about it being marked for redelivery despite email saying pickup. Wasn't asking for much just to be treated like a decent human being. I HATE this USPS office with every fiber of my being. They never fail to completely waste my time. The first time was a few months back when our mail was being broken into. I was having to go to this office to pick up my mail and the employees sent me on a wild goose chase trying to get why was incredibly time sensitive mail. They told me my mail was delivered to my mailbox, so I went home and checked my mailbox. No mail. I drove BACK to the office and they swore up and down they didn't have my mail. I left and eventually went back that same day and lo and behold, my mail was at their office the WHOLE TIME. Second instance they wasted my time was today. I went in to find out what I would need to do and complete to get a replacement passport since mine is destroyed. The woman tells me to wait by the door. Then, as other people after me start asking about passports, she tells them they have to make an appointment because the guy who does the passports only takes the first 4 people of the day (what in the hell kind of janky system is this? why are my tax dollars paying this clown?) so I ask the woman if I even have a chance of talking to him an she tells me to continue waiting. After over an hour of waiting, she asks me what I need and I tell her I just need a replacement and she tells me I need to make an appointment. I don't think a single place or person has ever made my piss boil quite this woman and this heinous post office. Thank you for continuing to waste my time and tax dollars. read more

The clerks at the desk are wonderful. No complaints. But what's with the supervisor, Alex Vargas, who REFUSES to come out and talk to a customer even though they are willing to wait all day? His message: "Go home. I will not see you." When I am standing there with a tracking confirmation for something that was NOT DELIVERED to my address, he owes me an assurance that he will look into it. I went to the main counter for an Amazon return (third party seller). I used a pre-printed received return label and purchased my own shipping package. Im used to the self adhesive labels that you use to slide the pre-postage label into. This post office says you have to buy their tape because they don't provide the self adhesive labels and they don't provide the tape. read more

This US Post Office is located on Chicago Avenue between University Ave and MKLjr Blvd, in Riverside - close to UCR. I've never had any issues coming here. I utilize their Self-Service kiosk for Priority Flat Rate packaging instead of waiting in line. It's a little sketchy in this area - there's usually a homeless person right by the stairs leading up to the front door. But they usually just mind their own business. Overall, no complaints here. It's easy to find and they're open on Saturdays. Plenty of parking too! And bonus: They have some beautiful Birds of Paradise to the right of the Entrance. read more

The employees here have generally been nice and helpful to me, about what I've come to expect from other post offices. A few months ago, I picked up my mail from here when the mailboxes at my apartment were vandalized. It took some time, but the workers were nice. This post office does have problems, though. Years ago, I dropped off a package in the drive-thru mailbox outside, and it was neither scanned for tracking nor sent. A worker said that criminals sometimes tamper with those mailboxes. The package drop off inside the building gets jammed half of the time because the workers don't clear it often enough after people have put too many packages into it. Last year, I dropped off a small envelope, which did not have tracking, that contained something I sold on eBay into the mail slot inside the building, and the buyer says he never received it. Yesterday, the self-service kiosk could not scan the tracking barcode on my package, as it usually does. It made me a little late for work. After work, I drove to a post office in Moreno Valley, and the self-service kiosk there was able to scan the tracking barcode. read more

The staff at the Riverside Post Office are very unkind and rude. My experience here was extremely unpleasant. The staffs had no service mind and were very rude. At the end of the service, the screen on the pay pad asked for a rating, but the staff clicked the "good" rating by herself. Customers have no choice to rate how bad the service actually is. She begins to tell me it with mail courier, but to my understanding, it should be returned the mail if you were not able to deliver it, regardless if you ask for mail receivers, or else why would you place a door tag saying it will be at this location for customer to pick it up. Came here today to mail out a package to my family, and Mohamed I believe was his name was so kinda and generous to me, however he had to go to lunch and I had to continue my transaction after packaging my box with lendra or leondra (not sure on the spelling), and she was so incredibly rude and had a rude and unpleasant tone to her voice. I work nearby this post office so whenever I need to mail packages I come here on my lunch break to do so. I have only been to this location a hand full of times and each time the staff were courteous and helpful. Depending on the day of the week lines can be long. I just came from the post office 20 minutes ago and I was able to walk right in and be helped there was no line. A postal worker helped me and he was very kind. The United States Postal Service in Riverside California is conveniantly located off of The I-215. This is a large facility open till 6pm daily and is a full service post office. The workers here are courteous and always willing to go the extra mile to be sure the packages they handle here are done correctly. They also have an after hours self serve machine and passports are done here as well. read more

Terrible service, and rude worker. I walked in a worker was processing a passport. I said "excuse me do you have any more of the yellow papers for minors." She started panicking. Walking back and forth saying "I can't stop when I'm verifying" she walked away to get the paper then turned around and said to her current customer, "people can't respect that I can't stop when I'm verifying," I asked the lady a question all she had to say is "one moment I can't check at this moment." Our current courier (Rick) started our route a couple of years ago. In the 25 years I've lived in Riverside, he is by far the most accurate, hardest working, and most considerate mailman we have ever met. This USPS office must be doing something right to have hired him! Background - many years ago, we had a mail hold placed while on vacation. Another delivery person didn't follow protocol and left mail in our mailbox, for burglars to correctly interpret our home to be unoccupied. They stole everything of value and trashed our house. So we were traumatized by that event and have been paranoid about mail in our mailbox while away ever since. We never told our mailman about that, but unbelievably this last vacation, we saw him on our doorbell cam walking our long driveway when there was no mail to deliver and checked to make sure it was empty. So today at the post office on 4150 Chicago Ave., Riverside, CA 92507 I had to have a envelope with a first class stamp on it to be stamped with todays post mark date as it was going to the Federal Department and date deadlines are important and the gal at the second far end window at about 9:05 am said it would be $2.00 for her to stamp it by hand and than it would sit in a bin for two days. What kind of bull is the post office serving now. The stamp prices go up and the service is horrible. Question is I called the higher up contacts who monitor all post offices and there is no such rule written. So did this gal have a broken hand she couldn't lift the stamp, need lunch money, coffee, tips, gas for her car??? USPS has really outdone themselves hiring this gal. Why worry about our mailboxes being robbed when you can get robbed at the post office for $2.00. Someone needs to really investigate this location. It use to be top of the chain now its like we owe them something from us just for walking in the post office. What happened to good customer service. We are your customers. We put food on your tables. If you are unhappy with your job get happy. If you don't want to be there don't. But the customer only wants to know that the already overpriced stamp on that price of mail gets where it needs to go. read more

Two days in a row my mail wasn't delivered at all. They skipped my home. I had an outgoing letter as well both days that was never picked up. I've called and spoke with John, hoping he will help resolve all the issues I've been having with USPS. I've had my carriers drop off mail that isn't even addressed to my address, on several occasions. Who is getting my mail?? There have been many, many times when i know that they haven't delivered my mail to me. Probably put it in someone else's mailbox. Call me crazy but one of my favorite errands to run is to the post office. I don't know why, I guess it just brings me a certain amount of joy when I put that stamp on a letter/package and send it off to family and friends. I have found Riverside postal employees in particular to be especially pleasant (for the most part at least), specifically at this location. They get through everyone's mailing needs efficiently as possible and with a smile. Services I use: 24/7 Postage Machine: When you want to skip the long line (if there is a line at all) or send your package during non-operating hours this location has a 24/7 postage machine. You put your letter/package on the scale, answer the required questions, and after you pay (CREDIT CARD ONLY, $1 minimum purchase), the machine pops out a stamp and your letter/package is ready to be sent, no middleman needed. They sale stamps, greeting cards, packaging tape, and decorative or plain packages. Usually I will get a Flat Rate Priority Envelope or Box ("FREE" of charge, property of the postal office, comes in Small $5, Medium $10, and Large $15), take it home so I can go all out decorating the outside of it before returning back to the post office to send it out to my loved ones who get it in about 2-3 days. Cash Back: If you use your debit card to purchase something here you have the option to get cash back if you need.
