I have not visited the local postal office in years. I visited the Westgate location this afternoon to process shipment for a small return. I arrived before 12:30 and was out in less than 5 minutes. There was no line and it was a slow Wednesday. Carrie was very kind & professional. There is a certain stigma about Postal workers being disgruntled and unpleasant. Carrie did not match the energy of that stigma. She exchanged kind pleasantries, explained what was needed for processing and kindly helped with packaging my return. With grace. Treating me like a human being. There was nothing transactional or performative about our exchange. I put off going the post office for a few days now, because my experiences have never been pleasant. Applied to renew a passport in this location. It was the only usps I could find in the area with extensive walkin/no-appointment hours. I arrived late in the morning to find no line and great service! The process took less than 10'. Thank you! Also - there is ample parking. read more

"What could improve?" Deliver mail to correct addresses and rectify matters and financial losses when there is proof of not doing so after investigations and USPS employees confirming their mistakes. Keep promises to customers and residents when saying you'll fix the issue rather than give them false hopes and runarounds. read more

I don't usually don't leave reviews, but I feel as people should know what they're walking into. The lady that was suppose to "help me" was extremely sarcastic and honestly pretty unhelpful as I had to figure everything out on my own. She responded with attitude like I was bothering her. I have never in my life met a more incompetent business than the USPS in NC. They don't deliver mail....they drop it off. They don't deliver packages...you have to pick them up. There is NO way they have earned the title mail carrier as none of them would be able to do that job. Must be very nice to get this gov't cake job of sitting in a car all day, flying by then dropping a box of mail off. Forget about their so-called sorting. None of them can read. What happened to the days of your neighborhood mail carrier? What happened to "Neither rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"?? I'll tell you...they got lazy and spoiled. I really hope the Post Office ends up Privatised....cuz then there would be accountability!! read more

I just rushed here in the rain, mind you, to mail a package before closing time. I arrived with 5 minutes to spare but the department I needed access to had already left. Clerks could have better attitudes. But for the most part service is quick. Usually 2 clerks available. Wait time is roughly 3-4 mins.

When will the drop off box be fixed??? It has been broken for months and would really cut down on traffic if people could come before hours and drop off. Postman refused to take my packages, so I went to the post office. I scanned them all into self scan but the window to deposit was stuck. One of the only two postal workers told me I'd have to wait in line to give her my scanned package. WHY would you only have 2 windows open during christmas season? Worst passport experience in the Triangle. I've been trying for months to get a passport for my son. Finally had to make one here since it's the only one with evening hours. We drove here all the way from wake forest and we're one minute late for our appointment. We had tried to call them but of course no way to get through. Went to pick up a package from post office this morning. Their hours suck so the only possible day I could go is on a Saturday. Last Sat. I was OOT and the Sat before that is when I got a postcard letting me know a package needs to be picked up. Now, my postcard was dated a few days earlier in the week and I tend to check my mail only on weekends, but nowhere does it say on the postcard that my package will be held for a limited time. I was so peeved when 1st they hand me someone else's package, which I realized after I walked away. It was a Raleigh address, close enough! Then when they looked for my package again, they told me it's not here so it must have been sent back. Have a nice day. I mean.... I've been dealing with this post office for years, but now one of their employees has somehow officially lost or stolen a package of mine that nearly costed me 400$ from China! I took the full hit for their mistake, and someone else who works their should have been punished instead: if they have dyscalclulia, they need to be terminated immediately for this incompetence which caused them to put it in the wrong box. Finally, if they have a thief working therr, that theif should be caught with a sophisticated camera system that can cause them to see ALL po boxes from BOTH sides to make sure that employees are putting them in the right box and that no one other than the po box owner is taking them out! I figured this level of security would be implied to protect their customers and am very upset and aggravated to find out that that is clearly not the case at this post office! I notified Belinda also, and she's been ducking me ever since, just like she did Mary, probably because she knows she's trying to cover for their undoing theif operation over there! I want justice and hope switching post offices is sufficient because if the corrupt official is high up enough, they could still continue these heinous criminal activities... read more

These folks are a courteous as you can get for a post office. They are run very efficiently and you can normally get in and out within a reasonable amount of time. This is also a great location to get your passport and have a post office box. read more

Update July 07 2017 I went to USPS at 1 Floretta Pl, Raleigh, NC at 11:15am on June 5, 2017 to renew my US passport. An Asian woman clerk criticized my picture, "You must have a smile" and sent me home. I then read the US State Dept Passport Requirements online and it reads "you must have a neutral expression OR a natural smile". My picture is perfectly neutral and even has a hint of a smile. On top of that, this Asian woman has an unpleasant attitude, with no smile and rude expression. She also added, "I can send it out for you, but it's not going to go through". She apparently enjoyed agonizing her customer and caused unnecessary worry and potentially extra work for her customers. Update: June 27, 2017: I sent my passport out for renewal using the same, identical picture that the Asian clerk said, "You must have a smile". I received my renewed passport June 27, 2017 from the US State Dept. How wrong could she be? She apparently enjoyed exercising authority but passing out wrong information. The USPS management must retrain this woman clerk, and its staff, or their review rating will continue to decline below a "1" rating. Reviewed by a USPS customer, SCC. For PASSPORT applications, this post office is outstanding! The dedicated passport area is great, with a large and comfortable waiting area. There is a line for walk ins too. The employees were courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable. Last year I applied for one of my kids passports at the Post Office in Wake Forest, never again! This office is SO much better, NO comparison! I was seen right at my appointment time, and was in and out as quick as it could possibly be. read more

Long line, 2 active out of 3 cashiers and one of them on the phone wearing AirPods. Never seen employee on personal calls taking customer. I am sure this is not custom but it don't seem to have any management in place to enforce policies. He maybe the manager but well slow service not recommended if you value your time and your belongings. read more

My carrier will only pick up packages (USPS home pickup) 50 percent of the time, never if it's raining or looks like rain. They also shove packages that don't fit and packages that clearly state "Do NOT fold" into my mailbox, wedging them in. Horrible service! read more

This is an excellent post office. Using Google Maps I found it pretty easily the first time but was not visible from the road at first. The customer service is great... the staff is knowledgeable and they return a smile, making it a nice transaction. I usually have to wait in line, but I don't mind. When it is my turn they spend whatever time I need to post my packages, they are thorough, and they get it right. This is my preferred USPost Office. ***Also, there are the blue USPS boxes at the entry of the upper driveway... I like it that the boxes are on the driver's side. read more

Unpleasant passport application experience. They work very slow. I made an appointment a week ahead, but they are completely uninterested in scheduled appointments and, by default, they process everybody like as walk-ins. When I pointed out that I actually have an appointment and whether that will change the speed at which I am processed, they said that yes and... processed me in the order of walk-ins. The most outraging is their scheme of criticizing pictures that people bring and offering their in-house service for $15.00. It has happened to people in front of me. When I presented my picture they found that my ears cast slight shadow on the background (as you would expect from a camera flash). I do not know yet whether the Department of State will reject my picture, as my application is still being processed, but there is no mention in the instructions that shadows like this are unacceptable unless there is something casting a shadow ON a face. Also, these shadows were barely visible, as I took pictures in full daylight (bot not in broad sunlight) and the flash was only used as supporting source of light to (sic!) eliminate shadows. I think this scheme fully classifies in legal terms as racketeering (which according to a legal definition is offering a paid service to solve non-existing problems) since I was not the first person whose pictures were challenged. I hope I am wrong and they just try to help people. read more

I use this post office as my main location and I'm always pretty pleased with the service there. There is hardly ever a long line and I don't think I've had to wait more than 5 minutes when there were people backed up. One word of warning though is if you go to get your passport you will need to set up a appointment. This is no joke but I showed up first thing in the morning with every shred of paper and ID I could possibly need to get my passport and the lady told me I had to call a phone number to set a appointment. I looked at her, looked back at the empty lobby behind me, back to her and asked, with a completely bewildered look on my face "Are you serious?" Turns out, yep, she was serious. The phone number they give you is less than responsive also. I had to spam the number about 12 times before I got a real human. Finally, when it was apparent no one else was showing up she was nice enough to lend me some advice on my application. Other than the passport hangup this is a great post office. read more
