I've read all the horrendous comments on Yelp about this post office... Not wanting to pile on, I feel I have to add my 2 cents in... I am from Boston & split my time in Pompano Beach having an office & home fairly close by. I needed to purchase a book of stamps as I had forgotten mine & my Pompano office was out of them, so I stopped by and naturally wanted to pay with my company CC. When I handed the woman at the counter my CC for a $10.00 book of stamps on 1/23/2019 at this PO, she looked at my as if I had 2 heads. She then demanded that I furnish a picture ID with my purchase. I informed her that this was highly illegal & especially egregious as we were in a federal building. Without missing a beat, she simply repeated the same request of my photo ID. I once again explained to her that asking for a picture ID with any CC purchase was & is illegal. She informed my they have done this for years & if I wanted the stamps I had to comply with her demand. I did & I have the receipt to prove it. I have filed a complain with the USPS, but based on some of the troubling comments on here already, it seems that nobody is minding the store... Somebody needs to look into this & I'll be contacting a dear friend of mine who is a class action attorney...so please advise if this has happened to anyone else...Thank you!!! read more

This branch in Pompano Beach is consistently efficient. I mistakenly threw my priority package into parcel post bin. Someone fished it out and put it in priority so my package arrived in Phoenix in 2 days. TY Postal workers. And a week ago I found myself number 16 in line and one person at the window. She handled everyone in 15 minutes. That's efficient. read more

I've ordered a Dooney and Bourke pocketbook for my wife. Nothing came in the mail so I took my wife to the post office on Monday 23rd to see what was going on. They said they signed for it and she should be receiving it the next day. I can't see why they couldn't gave her the package if it was in the back. she had her ID. She waited till today and no pocketbook, she didn't get it. So We went to the post office. They said it was delivered on Monday 1230pm how was that possible, we were there at 4pm on Monday. I'm pretty sure it was stolen by an postal employee. They didn't care. As long as their computer said it was delivered. It was delivered. They won't even ask the person that supposedly delivered it. read more

I love that they have a self service machine which weights and dispenses postage which is open after hours, however they never have any envelopes or boxes. The counter service is friendly, now if they could only stock up for after hours...Also, make sure you bring your own pen and tape. read more

The USPS is absolute garbage. I hope President Trump gets rid of it. Have a confirmation of mail being delivered after a mail hold. Not delivered. No one answers the phone. Post men/women know nothing. You can't trust the USPS to actually deliver anything in a timely manner anymore. Just more of my tax dollars at waste. read more

This past Mother's Day 2021 (Sunday) two of my packages were taken.  Follow-up states they were left at the front door, but my ring camera states otherwise. I live in a gated community. I never saw the truck enter my complex. Fed-ex delivered that day faithfully, but nothing from USPS. All of the leg work I had to do to get to the bottom of this mystery was unreal. I spoke with the manager (in person), who was very kind and helpful and stated she would try and get to the bottom of it. She took time to see the pictured timestamp on the boxes when they came through the branch. The deal is that the USPS (at our branch in Pompano Beach) brings in weekend help, let's just say they aren't very helpful and (some) seem to help themselves. There was a time when the USPS was known for their dependability through rain, sleet and snow. The other problem is that our mailbox is outside of our gait, a lot of the time the USPS will NOT leave packages in lock boxes, and will just leave them on TOP of the mailbox (FOR REAL). My butcher box full of frozen meat was just left there. Thank God for my kind neighbour who called me and picked up my box. I thought living in a gated community would render my packages safer, I never imagined it would render them "AT RISK". There needs to be ACCOUNTABILITY at this branch! At the end of the day I received an email from the USPS that said nothing could be done about my lost package... imagine that. I have to say that I have seen an improvement in the last month, very thankful for this. I continue to be kind to those that are diligent and thank them when I can, especially when they drop off at my house (which they should do) . We can't blame the whole system for the few. But, continued monitoring of  the current systems that are in place (especially on the weekends) will improve quality and dependability.  I think the USPS can be better than it ever has been and am hopeful. There is no reason why they can't implement systems like FedEX, where pictures are taken to prove that the package is where it should be, safe and sound at our front door! read more

This post office has lost 3 packages dropped of for shipping. Very incompetent facility staff. Slow and lazy.

Absolutely terrible Post Office. Went in to ship 4 boxes priority and planned on having them all insured for 5,000 each. I brought one card to pay-- but had a payment issue. Tried to resolve it on the phone outside but long story short I have to go back and ship them tomorrow. I went back inside to tell them I need my boxes and I'll be back tomorrow to ship-- and they've already sent my unpaid for packages to the back room/ possibly the truck (why?-- I never paid...) so it takes another ten mins or so to get my boxes back. I wasn't upset or complaining about the wait. Instead I get my boxes back and between the 25 mins of me handing them to the man behind the counter to getting them back, the corners are all busted up and there's about a 2 inch HOLE through the side of another one. Absolutely insane ! They never even left the building. Can't stand stuff like this. It just seems like no one even cares about their job or something... i went back in and asked what happened to my boxes there's a huge hole in the side of one and I got nothing but blank stares. Thank god everything inside is ok. I am shipping very important valuables and would be devastated if they were broken just because of an employees neglect. Can't stand this place. This is the worst mail delivery neighborhood I have ever lived in.....I moved to Pompano Beach 33062 and did a change of address a week before and put my name in the mailbox.....I got mail the first week but it's been 3 weeks now with NO MAIL! I hate to think it but I could just see the guy on my route...one day, it's raining, he says screw it and just dumps all the mail on his route in the canal. One of the worst Post Office locations I've ever been to in life. No parking! Always just two counters open! And always a line no matter the day! Pompano Beach has too many residents for such a small location with NO STAFF!! I hate having to go to my Post Office!! read more

I just got a call from Patrikia letting me know that she had Forever Frog stamps. I requested some a few months ago when I came in on other business and I mentioned to her how they reminded me of my mom (who we lost to cancer 5 years ago) because she used to collect frogs. Last week Patrikia waited on my again and remembered my story. She didn't have any frog stamps at the moment but took my phone number and called me today to let me know that she'd found some. The worst PO on the planet. Put mail on vacation hold. The PO delivery person delivered for two weeks anyway. When the box was full they kept delivering. Neighbors called said mail was all over street. Call the PO in Pompano but they don't answer the phone. Lost much of our mail filed complaint with our congress women but USPS in Washington said sorry basically. We mailed a letter 1 block and it took 10 days to deliver it. New to area and so far, " I'm far from impressed." It's two days before Christmas and my packages did not make it to MY HANDS. THE PACKAGE HAS VANISHED! Mail carrier Darryl, who is NOT my regular carrier, CLAIMED to have left it outside my apt. Unfortunately, a neighbor was watching him to check her box ( which he left open) explained to the Police, "he never left a package." In the end, my Grandson gift for Christmas will be 50$ that USPS will reimburse. The Supervisor Gail was not very concerned and it really killed my holiday spirit. This could have all been prevented had your carrier PUT THE PACKAGE IN MY HAND OR JUST LEFT A PICK UP NOTICE, SMH. So sad, he's only 9 years old. read more

this post office is the worst. ive not received packages and mail for years but its finally coming to a head. im receiving other peoples mail and recently received a replacement creditcard that was already opened by someone else with "sorry i opened your mail" written on it. i have also recently not received a gift card given to me. I wish there was another way to send my bills! The pompano post office has seemed to loose 40 plus checks of mine being mailed to my suppliers. The mail is not arriving to the destination nor is it coming back to me. WHERE IS IT!!!!! This has become a real issue I am considering just doing wire transfers and not even using the US Mail. Very spotty delivery. Different delivery person about every week. Are refusing to deliver to a home because the mailbox is on the house and not at the curb. I wonder where one can complain regarding a Post Office that just does not do its job. If it's customer service or mail delivery, the Pompano post office is a joke. We get our mail if any, at 8 o'clock at night. Never ever have I seen anything like this. If you go and complain, no one to complain to, dthey say. No one there in charge. Very sorry place. Post Office has POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Two trips to the post office and numerous phone calls still have not solved the problem. I sold a manual on Ebay with a fixed shipping price that was computed on the Ebay site. I paid for the Priority Mail label on Ebay. I took the label and manual into the post office on 6th Street, Pompano Beach, 33060, where I received an envelope and tape to attach the label from Asian Postal Clerk. I was later notified by buyer that there was additional postage due as a result of the wrong envelope being provided. I have provided all documents concerned to the 6th Street, Post Office, Pompano Beach. 11/10/2014- I spoke with the Aisian Clerk and Ms Franco, supervisor, 6th Street, Pompano Beach Post Office, (954) 781 8235, Issue: Aisian Clerk mistakenly gave the wrong Tyvex envelope instead of Flat Rate envelope and thus there was an additional charge of $7.15. The Clerk admitted to the mistake. Ms Franco said for my buyer to call her since he had paid the additional postage in Ohio. Ms Franco is rude and poor customer service. I live down the street from the post office. I get everyone's mail but own. Christmas and Bday gift cards sometimes never make it to my house (thank you friends and family). Now things I buy from Amazon aren't showing up to my house, hmm. If the number on the house doesn't match the package then don't put it in the mailbox. The delivery service from this Post Office is just horrendous , for the most part most of these mail carriers are doing a fine job but there are some who just don't care . Just like any private business these employees who are underperforming should be held accountable . During the past couple of months I either have to call or visit this Post Office several times to complain about my packages and mail being delivered to someone else's address . I do sympathized with some of these postal workers who are sometimes overworked but I was taught that whatever you do in life you should do it to the best of your ability. Today I was expecting two packages from this Post Office that were scheduled for delivery based on their tracking numbers . Well , after checking my mail box at the end of the day I did not received any of the packages or a single piece of mail . After rechecking those tracking numbers both packages were supposedly delivered at my mail box . Even though this Post Office usually opens at 8 : 30 A.M and closed at 5 : 00 P.M no one answers the phone from 8:30 to 9:30 and after 4 : 00 P.M they just take the phones off the hook . Sometimes my neighbors does the job of the Postal carrier and delivers the packages to by door. I do believe that the supervisors for this Post Office should start holding the underperforming mail carriers responsible for their poor performances or they themselves should be replaced. read more

This is the closest post office to my office. We use it quite often to mail items, buy stamps, etc. However, when I ordered an item online, the tracking information told me that it had been delivered but I never received the package. When I tried to call the Pompano Beach post office, the phone just rang and rang and no one ever answered. I thought maybe it was a one-day problem. But every day that I have called (about ten days in a row), no one ever answers the phone. When I told the staff about the problem, all they said was, "oh yeah, we heard that from other customers." When I explained my problem, they told me that I had to complete a form and their manager would try to locate the carrier that delivered the package and get them to redeliver. When I called the 800 number yesterday, I was told that they couldn't find the package and the case had been closed. No one had ever even told me about that. But the person on the 800 number told me to submit a claim. I just did that but the automated response was that I waited too long and my claim may be rejected. This is extremely troubling and doesn't leave me with many options and there is no one else to complain to. I have also heard from the other tenants of the Pompano Citi Centre that their USPS mail has been lost or delivered to the wrong location and the Citi Centre staff is NOT allowed to open anyone's mail boxes. Again, very frustrating. So beware when ordering online, perhaps have it delivered to your home address instead. read more
