Alright, I experienced some of the best customer service of my life in this post office. Ok - I might be exaggerating a bit. Still, as Becca D has noted, wonderful employees cover this location. Before I go to the service aspect of this review, its worth pointing out that this location is full service. You can pack and ship, get a PO box, passport services, etc. Their hours are rather standard, but also have time on Saturday if you can't fit them in during the week. Remember, rates are based on destination zip code and weight (outside of flat rate offerings). You can get an idea on shipping costs ahead by checking out the USPS website. Getting to that service bit. I've twice come here a bit lost and confused about which method would be best (i.e. cheapest but safest) to get my package to its final destination. The first time, as I scouted out boxes which I'd have to pay for, staff volunteered to help find me a 'free' box. Rather than buy a box ($4) or go for the higher cost shipping of a flat rate box (none of which seemed to fit anyway), she advised me on the priority boxes available, helped estimate the cost ahead of packing, and even provided tape once we found a workable box. The second time was a different employee, which I knew now to ask, but went out of her way in a similar manner as well. 'Snail mail' may not be a method I use often in today's electronic age. Still, it is good to know when needed, the good old postal service can come through in the clutch! read more

So sometimes when I come here and there is 1 person working, I am in and out quickly which is why I gave 3 stars. However, it seems like when there are 4 people working on one day, they can't bother to take the time to help people waiting. They're too busy chatting. This is unacceptable. People need to go on with their day, and the employees need to know how to be more efficient. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't do ONE things right or on time. Lost mail, wrong mail, no mail, liars, lazy, no show for work, locked doors, make their own rules, blah blah blah! read more

It's supposed to open at 9am. It's 9:10 and nobody is here!! Ridiculous! The worst post office around. Update: FYI. No service until 9:15. Absolutely insane. read more

They go out whenever they please. For two days they've been out from at least 2 PM to 3:40 PM for lunch. You can't call them and they have no accountability whatsoever. They come and go as they please. Happily, after 40 minutes on the phone, I filed a formal complaint with the office of the inspector general OIG, who's office is in charge of the post offices. Maybe this will help. read more

Worst post office ever!!!!! Customer service is the worst.missing a package that said it was delivered in mailbox, called UPS to inform them I didn't receive the package, two days later I get a call from the rude ass customer service girl, who is yelling and telling me that my package was delivered and hung up the phone,I recorded the call and will be in touch with the supervisor on Monday morning read more

There is one gentleman in particular who works here that has been so rude to me on several occasions for no reason. He does his job with such an attitude that I'm surprised he still works there if he seems to hate it so much. When I'm trying to send packages and somethings wrong, he tells me the correct way to do it, but he says it so condescendingly and in such a patronizing tone that I'm amazed he's still employed. Utterly disrespectful. Then he assumes automatically that I'm upset with him personally and not the situation in general. I have no reason to be personally upset with him until he starts being rude for no reason whatsoever. I know you're miserable at your job, sir, but if you're so unhappy that you feel the need to let your attitude affect it, you have the choice to quit and go work somewhere else. read more

Never have I ever felt so disappointed in humanity. "Ladie" w/braids made me feel uncomfortable because I utilized the coins from my center console, perhaps $2-$3!, she rolled her eyes, sucked her teeth and spoke under her breath as she reluctantly handled my shipment. She attempted to humiliate me! Not sure how, or why she got the job if she is this miserable!.. I switched Ridge Ave and Boom!, All was well and good until I saw her "floating" there, we finally had it out!.. I didnt go "Postal" on her but I did alert staff that she was nasty to me and I refuse to work with her ever again!! read more

Employees gave attitude when I asked if they had stamps and envelopes. They stated they didn't despite having a few in front of the counter.

If I did not have a P. O. Box here for over 25 years, I would never go in here. Used to love this post office with the old staff two years ago, unfortunately they retired. The new folks are very rude, not knowledgeable and disrespectful. Do not waste your time at this post office! They know nothing about shipping internationally, cost me a return shipment which was over several hundred dollars, they claim they did nothing wrong. They failed to notify me of our business P. O. Box payment due, got only a late notice and told to pay a late fee of "22.00" BOGUS! I have never had an issue with a late payment until now. Do yourself a favor and avoid them, hopefully they will hire folks who know what they are doing. read more

Best postal workers ever! Sure you'll wait in line for a decent chunk of time, but once you get to the front desk these guys have you covered. You can expect friendly service with a smile and useful information - and no I'm not lying. Did you know a small flat rate box will fit inside a flate rate envelope? Not the most sustainable solution, but your goods get the protection of their free boxes and the reduced shipping rate of an envelope. They're always willing to compare prices and offer options for your shipping needs. No frills, no fuss, no attitude. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

What a breath of fresh air! I had been going to the USPS in Penn Center but due to repeated horrible experiences there, I've vowed to only go to the Yunk USPS when I can on Saturdays. The hours of this location are kind of crappy seeing as they close at 4:30pm on weekdays, which is why I can't make it there during the week. But the Saturday hours work for me so problem solved! I've been here several times before but this is the first time I actually paid attention as to what was going on lol. I send out packages to my deployed boyfriend basically every few weeks, so having a good experience at USPS is important to me. What WONDERFUL employees at this location! I was happy just looking at their smiling faces and dealing with their friendly personalities. There was no unpleasantness or irritation that I was so used to at the other location. They were very helpful and pleasant overall, even nice in dealing with each other. The whole process of mailing the package is mundane to me since I do it so often, but I'm glad to have found a place that doesn't make my stomach want to turn when I walk in, lol. This location is pretty large and generally clean, although it looks like some stuff is missing here and there. The 0 wait and swiftness of the employees though doesn't give you enough time to linger on that stuff though. I've got several more packages to send for the remainder of my boyfriend's deployment and I will definitely be coming to this location! Thanks for starting my day off with a smile! :) read more

They actually lost my package, but it took 2 hours of being on hold on 3 different days (they never answered, just hung up after about 30 minutes) and 5 visits to the actual store before I could find this information out. When I went to the store they asked "why didn't you just call" I told them I did and they challenged whether I was calling on the right number. When they saw my call logs they seemed shocked, but still they were clueless. Pathetic, legit their employment is borderline a crime. Avoid at all costs, and honestly, a lawsuit may be the only adequate option for me. read more

Sad to say. . . The folks who run this cutest neighborhood post office once again disappoint the neighbors living here who rely on the efficiency and professionalism that this place has shown over the 30 years that I have lived here. Last Saturday 5/16/20, with a line of folks waiting at the door, this branch did not open at 8:30 am like the schedule has indicated. I waited 30 minute until 9 am when 2 female staff were seen walking around inside the dark post office. When several customers asked "Are you open?", they responded "No we are closed". That's it! No explanation. No note posted online. No sign on the doors. No regard for all the waiting neighbors' time and postal needs. When asked the reason for the unannounced closing, one worker answered "We had an issue". Really? . . Then post a note on the door early BEFORE opening to inform folks. Simple! We would understand. Enough said. read more

Myself and 5 other women were left outside confused from 8-8:10 am. No one answered the door, it was pitch black inside. The door says open at 8... the answering machine says it as well. I understand we are in a pandemic, but a little communication goes a long way and we had things to do and left read more

This place is poorly managed and remarkably inefficient. Plan to be here for an hour for whatever you're doing. No supplies either.

The epitome of poor customer service and even poorer employee training. I spent an hour at this office today trying to ship a package to Germany and had to leave before I was able to complete the shipment. I was redirected to the end of the line twice, the second of which was due to the clerk requesting I write all the information on the box. This was after she redirected me to the end of the line to fill out an SLI. Why she didn't tell me to also write the information on the box at this time... I don't know. While waiting I witnessed 4 other customers leave unhappy and empty handed after waiting for 30 minuets or more. Shippers: Save yourself time and headache and ship FedEx, UPS, or at least go to a different USPS location. USPS: Give your employees the tools they need to perform their job correctly and efficiently. Failing to provide these tools is unfair to the employees and causes your organization to loose revenue. read more

It is unfortunate but the customer service is sadly lacking. The woman that was behind the desk barely seemed to want to respond and when she did she was ignorant and not helpful. When I am able to I go the the post office in Lafayette Hill. Never had a problem and everyone is very friendly. Stay away from the manayunk post office if possible. read more

Staff is Hit or Miss, but usually more helpful, and want to help you get your item to the right place on time. The scale is usually broken, but they will weigh it at the counter. Free parking is a definite plus, thank you postmaster for this! Wish they had longer Wed or Saturday hours. read more

I posted a negative review of Manayunk post office and it was removed in a day! Inappropriate to remove it and apparently the information about their lack of commitment to customer service and rudeness at the window is correct. read more

The employees here are very helpful & willing to offer shipping suggestions when deciding on the best option. They also do passport photos/books here. Only critique is that the hours are odd & inconvenient at times but that's not the employee's fault. read more

Has free parking! That's the main redeeming quality. Line can get very long and there is typically only 1 person on duty manning the desk. Staff is generally friendly though. read more

Very upset with an employee there. Simply went to get something post marked and she had the audacity to fat shame my 6 month old baby. She not only called my child overweight but continued to criticize that I fed him baby foods too early and ask what his pediatrician thinks about his weight. I do not recall it being part of post office employees job description to fat shame infants and judge my parenting skills. read more

I love the post office on Main st. but hate the delivery service since they changed the carriers route, I get other people's mail some not even in phila. I miss my old carrier who was great for the past 16 years. I know the new carriers are not use to this route but they need to be more careful. too many different carriers . I think it may be time for me to do all my corresponds online . But I really love the people at the office on Main st. read more

This post office is worlds better than it's counterpart up the hill on Ridge avenue (go there and do not expect to be out in under thirty minutes, even if you are the only customer in the building), plus you can apply for a passport here. Found at the upper end of Main street near the firehouse, it is a clean and bright location with pleasant and competent employees, it has a functioning AC system, and it actually has a parking lot underneath that is even serviced by an elevator (very clutch considering the PPA swarms down here like river rats). A bit farther away from my house than the Ridge ave. P.O, but after today's visit to main street I will never go to the Ridge location again. read more

I used to feel bad for the workers at this post office because they apparently sit in complete misery for 40 hours a week. I wish that they could find jobs that they enjoyed more because every last employee is the most unfriendly rude unhelpful miserable unhappy person I have ever encountered. Even though this post office is the closest one to my house I will still go to the one on ridge just to avoid the horrible experiences I always have there. They make you feel like you are the biggest inconvenience to them. They are always pretty horrendous and they give you a receipt with a survey on it which I never fill out because I don't wanna leave negative feedback for them because I would feel so bad for them. However today this one man was especially rude AF and I Just don't feel bad for them anymore because at some point you just make a choice to be a miserable person. The girl that's always there is awful too. read more

Rude clerk. Wish I knew her name. She should not be in customer service. Horrible attitude.

This is the best post office ever. The staff is great. They do seem a bit understaffed, often only one register is open, so the line can be long during peak hours. But the folks working there are wonderful. read more

Let me just start by saying that I live across the street from a post office (not this one) and I will be driving to this location from now on instead. I went there to have my passport application processed because, unlike the 30th & Chestnut location, they allow you to make an appointment so you don't have to spend a whole day there. I was going to go on my break from work, but I was called to a job on my way over. I called the post office, and much to my surprise, they agreed to fit me in later in the day after the last appointment! When I got there, the woman at the counter and the man who processed my application were both super friendly and gave me great service. I have never had this type of experience at a post office; it made my day! read more

Well, this is my post office so I'm happy that they get my mail to me on the day to day. BUT, if you have to actually go here for anything be prepared to wait in the slowest moving line, ever. I've been here many times too, it is not just an isolated event. I've tried mornings, afternoons, weekdays, you name it... Go elsewhere (unless they are holding your package captive and you have to go here). read more

Clerks were friendly and premises were clean and fully stocked. Got my passport processed here and was the recipient of a short line! (The greatest gift a post office could ever give you) Underground parking is a plus and Manayunk has a million things to do if you wanna walk around right after. read more

DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT go her and get your passport done!! Made an appointment 12:30 and went there just to hear the guy that does it goes to lunch at 12:30!!! Cashier tell me I can wait until he comes back at 2:30 but he may not do it!! Are you kidding me. Mind you they took my info when I made the appt and said I would be called an hour before to make sure I still can keep the appt and I hear nothing! Had been calling them since 12 and got no answer!! Called 10 Times!! HORRIBLE! Go to the one on 1 Union Ave!! So much better read more

Every time I go to this location there is only one person working. The younger women who works there is great, very helpful and friendly but it would but nice if she had someone there to help out. Long lines and long wait times, and if you are behind someone who is getting a passport, then, you will be there for a long time. read more

The worst excuse of a post office I have ever gone to. They lost 75% of my packages I've sent through this center. The employees obviously steal any packages you drop off. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT IS NEEDED read more

If you do a change of address expect to hear every excuse of why your mail is still being delivered! The staff is rude on the phone and they just don't seem to care. I later did a change of address and I still get mail at the old address months later...called looking for a package and was told I could pick it up at the post office!! Really? Went there and no package, so tomorrow I will waste some more of my time looking for my mail read more

The office workers are so kind but it doesn't make up for the fact that I went in here (a passport facility) for a scheduled appt. and filled out all the required papers to renew my passport based on what the staff told me. Turns out she had me do the WRONG paperwork and she submitted it incorrectly. Now I have to pay the $200 fees again to do on my own what she should have done. Mind you I waited very patiently while this took almost an hour as she had other customers. The appointment is to ensure everything is done correctly! The nice personality doesn't give back my $200 unfortunately. read more

This post office is the WORST. They have mis-delivered my mail over 5-10 times in under a year, and I constantly get other peoples mail. I will not order anything worth a decent amount of money because it's doubtful it will show up. When you call to file a claim and discuss this issue all you will get are rude people who couldn't careless. I think they might do this on purpose. BEWARE. read more

Location is convenient on Main Street and it's great they have their own parking lot for customers. If it weren't for the parking garage, I wouldn't come here as getting a space on Main Street would be difficult. When I first started coming here, there were two employees that were very helpful and pleasant. Lately the person who's been working the counters is lazy and rude. Please bring back the hardworking employees who cared about giving people good customer service. read more

The manager here is totally useless. Sorry I can't find a better word to describe her than this. I brought in two express mail failure receipts. Both clearly stated that the packages were delivered later than the guarantee date. She refused to give me my money back, citing that it doesn't say LATE on the website. Excuse me, I do not think it ever says late when it's late. The delivery date itself reflects lateness. On top of that I wasted almost one hour waiting for her to print out the tracking number and go over it. I am not sure why the government wastes money hiring these unproductive people. It was such a simple job, anyone with half a brain could get it done within 10 minutes. Eventually I got my money back at another post office but I still had to go through hell and some insult before they gave my money back. If you are not willing to refund customers, maybe it is time for you to stop offering the money back guarantee service. I am not here to defraud you! I am just asking for what I am entitled to. Disgusted! read more

This location is up there with the one in East Falls. It has horrible customer service, terrible deliveries and god forbid anyone waits on you when you go there! I am so sick of having packages and mail delivered to my office that don't belong here but in the mail boxes!!! I am not the postal woman, this is not my job. Lazy and there really is only one good woman who works for your company that delivers in Manayunk. It shows too, she works harder than any of the others and actually delivers the mail where its supposed to go!!! I am so glad i do not live in this god awful city anymore. read more
