I know this may fall on deaf ears, but here it goes: A long-time Buyer and Seller on eBay here. For the past 13 years or so, this facility is a black hole of missing or extremely late distribution. I can easily recall 40+ instances where packages will stay there for a week or more before they move on. To say that they're incompetent is a gross understatement. I cannot think of a single positive thing to say about this place and can go for HOURS about the corrupt mismanagement that happens here. My opinion: shut it down and retire EVERYBODY. They always end up sending my packages to the wrong post-office and they get lost in transit. The only thing I can think of, they're either idiots or don't care at all about their profession. Even Amazon can't keep things from disappearing at Opa Locka. This is my third recent 'disappearing act' for packages that got as far as Opa Locka. First I ordered expensive computer drive, overnight- tracking went from 'possible delay' to 'updated to later delivery date' to finally 'undeliverable to returning to sender'. It never returned to sender. Amazon made me wait to send replacement until Opa Locka stopped changing the delivery date. The reorder was sent overnight again ... same thing, except this time I fought my way to a live chat person and practically cried (my computer was dying I NEEDED the new drive) so they overnighted by FED EX got it no problem. Amazon assured me that they'd 'depreciated' (something like that) USPS service for my orders. I asked if they could please have someone up at Amazon complain about - I'm sure Amazon is having a lot of refunds due to Opa Locka's vanishing point so maybe they'd have the power to actually get it investigated. The computer repair guy wondered why it had taken so long for me to call him back. When I told him what happened, he laughed. He and his friend had so much stuff stolen at Opa Locka they'd put up a petition to have the law investigate it. At last count over 800 people signed. Well, they did it again. This time I went regular shipping (thought maybe overnight package screams VALUABLE STEAL ME) and assumed that it would NOT wind up in Opa Locka's Lost Souls since Amazon had told me previously 'not to worry'. This time I fought my way to Amazon live chat (tip, keep going until you force it to ask 'something else' and then from there, you should get an option for live chat). This time I just got a refund and was told to wait a few days before trying to reorder. Luckily this time it wasn't anything urgent. I tried once more to get Amazon to add their voice to the complaints maybe if enough people who lose Amazon stuff at Opa Locka complain it'll happen. read more

I have a package going from VA to AL. On 12/10 it made it to Jacksonville FL, then to OPA LOCKA FL on 12/11.It stayed it OPA LOCKA for two days. On 12/13 it went to Miami FL, left Miami on 12/14 returning back to OPA LOCKA, then back to Miami, and now back at OPA LOCKA! Today is 12/16 and it is still at OPA LOCKA. Not sure when it will make it to AL. Can't find out why it keeps going back to OPA LOCKA. Does anyone have any suggestions? read more

Worst distribution center in the USA, it's like the movie Idiocracy! My packages arriving go to Opa-Locka center and then get sent to Massachusetts, the latest is now in Wisconsin at an Oshkosh distribution center, who knows when or if it will ever arrive to Miami. I'm now ordering everything from Amazon or from seller/providers that use FedEx. The people running the USPS are retarded, they have to be to send stuff clearly marked for Miami up north close to Canada. This is the worst postal facility in the country. Do a Google search on their name and read the stories. My story, which I'll summarize, is that my package sat here for 15 DAYS before being scanned, then took another 12 DAYS to be sent out. I received it a MONTH after it arrived at Opa Locka. AND, the package had been opened and re-taped, and most of the packing material was missing, causing the item to be tossed around during shipping. It's as if this facility is in a corrupt third-world country. And obviously the USPS isn't doing a THING about it. read more

If I could give the USPS Opa-locka Distribution Center zero stars, I would. My package has been sitting there for days, and I only live 20 minutes away! How does that even make sense? It's like time stops the moment a package arrives at this facility. No updates, no movement, just complete incompetence. This isn't the first time either--every time a package goes through this place, it turns into a black hole. Calling customer service is pointless because they either don't know what's going on or give you the standard "please wait" response. At this point, I could have walked to the facility and back multiple times, and my package would still be stuck in limbo. If you have the misfortune of your package being routed through Opa-locka, brace yourself for a long and frustrating wait. I am sent a package from Canada to Tampa fro el child BD on May 5th its May 26th and the package is sending back to Canada as their notes there is insufficient address! The worse services I've experienced in year. I called the Wisecards printer and mailing they are even worse services, the costum services actually the supervisor can't help as she can't ctt the distribution center in Miami! If I could give no stars I would - WHY wont any official oversight investigate the disastrous handling and sorting of mail through this distribution facility. I have had NUMEROUS pieces of mail be sent here from Broward county and they sit for days, and get delivered weeks later! I know there are many upset over the same issue, look at the blogs and complaints everywhere online - I have also had packages shipped from a purchase, sent to Opa Locka for sort and they are sent ALL OVER the country then returned to the original sender, with the sender having sent to my same address previously. How is there no accountability? This has to have a managerial arm that is completely complicit. Items disappear, Open packages and items removed, lost completely. My package sat at the Opa Locka post office for two weeks, and when I finally received it yesterday it was sliced open and the item that was stuffed inside of it was not what I ordered from the company. It's a small business owner and when I spoke to her on the phone, she was livid! so basically the post office stole my items. As much as Yelp encourages us to be "understanding" when leaving reviews, the performance of this distribution center truly is abysmal. This is NOT a covid/pandemic thing. Every package that I have EVER had go through Opa Locka has been delayed by five days or more.. Sweeping change needs to happen at this place. The USPS has really stepped it up in the past few years and I am generally understanding about short delays (I live in Hawaii, after all) but I now go out of my way to make sure that I no longer order products shipping from Florida because of the Opa Locka location. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I sent a medium flat rate package from Hawaii & it should've been delivered within a week, meeting me back at home in Fort Lauderdale. It was stuck "in transit" at opa-laka for 2 weeks and when we tried to find it they said the box was there and it was empty. That "it must've just came open" from the sorting machines. Absolute bullshit, and I forced them to deliver the empty box so I could see it. It was clearly opened by a person and the contents were completely missing. I lost everything inside including some makeup & hair tools and they refused to pay me anything for my lost items even when I opened a case and filed a claim. This is the worst USPS of all time & obviously the employees here are stealing whatever they want! read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Opa-locka, Florida

I pay almost $25/wk for Premium forwarding of my mail from Bedford NY to Bonita Springs FL. The boxes take forever to arrive. The last box, mailed in 3/20 has still not arrived as of 3/31. The local post office believes it was addressed incorrectly and showed me it's been to 18 different places. I fear for our US postal service. They never scan packages and if they do, items getting scanned way later, few days later than they should. One package have been during a 360 in Florida since 4/11/24. It have been arriving in opa locka and departing an arriving in Miami and departing, and arriving back in opa locka, this have been going on everyday since the 11th, someone have been picking up the package in Miami, at least four times this month. As of today may 1, 2024 someone have picked it up again, tomorrow, it will depart Miami, and arrive back at opa locka. The killing part about this is, it's suppose to be delivered to me in Louisiana, I don't live in Florida. I gave up on this one, I have another one there right now, it's been there since 4/27/20,it's been in transit everyday at the same time, 11:24 pm. It's only 8:13 pm., right now. Christ, I wish I could rate this place zero, and omit this place as an option for mail when ordering packages. The instant I know this place is a stopgap for anything I order, I add at least a day to the expected delivery day. Sometimes it's two. They're lazy and incompetent and hold things up all the time, and it's been this way for years. How they're in business, I have no idea, especially considering how no one has a nice word to say about this place. That's LOTS of people who rightfully hate this place.
