Had a Passport appointment for 0930. When I arrived I assume they were helping someone else who had just walked in. My appointment time came and went with no urgency by the staff to help me. I eventually got waited on at 0950. If I wanted an 0950 appt time, that's when I would have booked it. This post office showed no consideration for customer's time. read more

All I can say is the negative reviews on here are very much appropriate! I drove over tonight to get mail and was greeted with a sign on the door that says they lobby is now NO LONGER open 24 hours a day. The reason given is due to homeless people sleeping in the lobby and vandalism. Incredible how your tax dollars pay for this kind of stuff and yet no one thinks to hire a security guard or have the local police do routine patrols. No! Instead, all the good law-abiding people have to suffer the consequences of others. I don't think it is supposed to work that way. Oh, and yes, the staff at this location leave A LOT to be desired in the area of friendly customer service. Nearly everyone there looks and acts like they absolutely HATE their job. Sad! read more

The clerks are not familiar with post office regulations. A nonmachinable letter can contain items such as pens, keys or coins that cause the thickness of the mailpiece to be uneven. She refused my letter because it contained a coin. I guess that is what happens with the quality of help you get now days. read more

Very pleasant and patient clerks at this location. They serve the customers and try to keep them going through in a timely manner. It is the customers who create a lot of the delays, by not having their mail ready to be taken care of. Customers show up asking for a pen to fill out the address or their box isn't even packed yet. It is not the clerks fault for the delays. Be kind. read more

I own an online store and ship everyday. I won't go into all the late shipments, but today almost made me laugh. The box reciprocal was full...as usual, so I could not drop my packages there. So, I went into the clerk area to drop my boxes in the basket on the other side of the counter. It was empty, so it was about a 4 foot drop to the bottom of the basket. I had a couple boxes that contained fragile items. I always package very well, but why drop 4 feet if I don't have to. I let the clerk know that I was just sitting these two items on the counter so I didn't have to drop them. She promptly tells me "I'm just telling you...those are gonna get thrown anyway"...as she shook her head. I'm sure she's not lying, but doesn't make a customer feel very good about leaving ANYTHING with them. It will be nice when Amazon takes over. I order at 10pm and its waiting on my step when I wake up. read more

The O'Fallon post office is not the one designated by my zip code, however, I come here because the people working are always kind and helpful. Also, they work efficiently so the wait isn't long even if the line is long. My guess is that other people who don't live in O'Fallon come here because they provide good service. read more

If I could I would give 0 stars, if you don't have staff to deliver my meds, please leave it blank, and deliver next day, please don't make up lies like animal interference and no access to property, and blame the customer for something you can't do!!! This has happened 10 times so far, please stop the lying, I have no commotion, or your mail man on my ring, during the time you are saying there was no access to my house, and you tried to deliver. Nice and friendly small town post office. I just stopped in during my lunch hour for a roll of stamps for work. The flow of traffic into the parking lot is odd but I'm sure it's fine once you get used to it. read more

There is always a problem with this post office. It's 840 and they are not open despite the hours being 830. They always have a line. Almost everyone there has a bad attitude. Al is the exception. He is a great guy and always pleasant. Try to go to him whenever possible. read more

This place is always packed! Granted, I don't frequent post offices, but when I do...I wait. For quite awhile. It's not their fault, people just have a lot of crap to mail! This most recent visit, I was very happy to hear they offered the commemorative Civil War stamps! I had been looking for these all over. The man that assisted me was incredibly polite and attentive. This isn't the closest post office to be but they process passport applications. When I first stopped by it was jut to pick up an application and ask questions about getting a passport for my son. It was extremely busy, long line and wait. Despite that, The lady I spoke with was very helpful and patient, I had tons of questions. Usually when you get to the front the clerk is mean and nasty but not in this case. She explained the fee, what not to write on the application, how to the fee is broken down and times for processing his application. Now, today I tryed my best to get here at 9am but didn't make it till 9:18am. Already there were 2 people waiting to get processed and 1 already being seen. The wait wasn't that long... I believe we were there for 45 mins. That included the wait in line of 3 ppl, processing our application and paying! It's best to have all paperwork filled out when you get there. If not, the wait could be longer! Zelda was Awesome... She processed my sons passport application, super friendly and fast! I normally don't go to this post office but at the end of the day I would go back if I needed too! read more

This is a decent post office, compared to other post offices. The parking is a little confusing. Make sure you come in on the left side and not the right side. You don't want to be going down a one way driveway. The staff is usually pretty fast. They have only misplaced my mail once in the 3 years I've lived there. read more

This is the single worst post office I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They lose mail on a regular basis, have cost me hundreds in late fees over the last decade for losing my credit card and car payments, they deliver other people's mail to me (including certified court and bank documents) and I'm sure my mail also ends up in other peoples mailboxes. When you complain about the lack of work ethic they tell you how hard their job is and whine that you shouldn't be complaining. Today they "attempted" to deliver a package that needed a signature. The man knocked, put a sticker on my door and left-- all in less than 15 seconds. He had the "sorry I missed you" note already filled out because he had no intention of waiting a second past his quick knock. By the time I got to the door he was gone. I literally only had to go down 8 stairs to get to the door and he had completely vanished. I called for redelivery and got an automated system that continuously cut the calls off. They seem to be oblivious to the concepts of good customer service and meeting the most basic requirements of their jobs. This is the rudest, most unreliable post office I have ever dealt with, and as a military dependent I have lived in a dozen cities. This place should be shut down. read more

I've been shipping with every company out there for the last 20 Years. Things to expect on flats USPS will be the cheapest if and i mean IF it makes it there. Most of the time it doesn't, if it does expect it to be damaged. Anything bigger then a flat a real shipping company will beat USPS rates and they actually guarantee the delivery date with USPS its a slouch and oh sorry it will arrive someday. Lines are outrageous and the employees they have in there are less then helpful. read more
