I have a long history of police in my family, taught me the difference between good and bad. I've always defended police, got onto those that called cops piglets, 12, useless, and outright egotistical airheads. Today, my family may be disappointed in me but I now believe defending those who are and want to be cops is wrong. You truly are, a bad apple my only hope is that you don't infect the bunch unless it's too far gone who knows this newer generation of cops are not as honorable police once were known for. I believe ticketing me for merging from one highway to the next and not putting my turn signal on could've been a warning. I to be completely honest with you forgot this one time to turn my signal on and you the public servant to treat me as if I've committed the most egregious of crimes. After claiming both his license and plates were invalid (proven to be not true) he was arrested adn the car was impounded. I however was left on the side of the road at 1:00AM in Cahokia, IL. Not the best place for a white boy to be stranded at 1:00am. When I asked for an officer to stay in the area until my wife could pick me up they just laughed and drove away. The officers themselves were unfriendly, rude, and insulting. I hope to god someone takes every officer in this place and teaches them a thing or two about human decency.

I thought they weren't even supposed to pull you over for anything below 9 over...? My friend just got ticketed last week for 41 in a 35... I guess these municipalities need their money... bad!! When I think of the police station, I see myself walking into a building full of officers at their desk doing paperwork, drinking coffee and hauling in criminals (apparently I've seen too many crime shows). Well to my surprise that wasn't the case. I actually walked into this large hallway, extremely quiet.. wasn't too sure what to do. To the right is the window for the records department, to the left, a window to dispatch. On the windows there's a sign "Dispatch can not hear through the window. Please pick up phone to your right for police services". Okay! An officer answered the line, I explained I needed to make a police report. She took my name, number, address and said she would send a officer to me. Wait.. what?!? I'm in the lobby! If I knew I could just call and have a officer come to me to make a report, I would've! Instead she sent a officer to come and take my report in the lobby. While waiting I was able to observe the bulletin board with helpful information to citizens in Fairview Heights. There's a MedReturn drug collection unit, where you can drop off unwanted prescription. If you need a gun lock, just ask, they will provide 1 free of charge. Better safe then sorry! Even though it looks empty, there are people there behind those dark mirror windows. At the end of the day... if I had to go back I would, by I'm hoping I don't need too!

After waiting about 30 minutes, an officer escorted me to the house where it was. He spoke to the residents of the house. Without a warrant he was unable to enter and only could question the individuals on the front porch. While I didn't get my phone back, I appreciated his transparency, sincereness, and willingness to help. FYI... the phone is in that dude's house. GPS was turned off when they saw a cop car out front.
