She answered all my questions (some of the cards were international) - she informed me about the strike of the canadian mail workers (one of the cards was for Canada). Bear in mind that this is a few days before Christmas, with a long line of customers, each with multiple letters, cards, or boxes. Yet, Danika was consistently cheerful, professional and helpful. Kudos to Danika, and to the USPS for hiring employees like her!

I understand that I showed up a couple of minutes before closing, but I didn't realize that until he mentioned it. I even asked him if he had time to help me, and if not, I would have gladly come back the next day. Instead, he snatched the box out of my hand and was very passive-aggressive. A lady walked in right after me, and he was rude to her as well--she only needed stamps. After she left, he made a smart comment to me, saying I was going to be the reason more people would come in, even though no one else came in besides that one lady. After I finished writing everything he needed, he took the box and the marker out of my hand and slammed the marker into the cup on the counter. I completely understand that people have bad days, but there's no reason to be aggressive or treat customers that way. Hopefully next time he chooses to be a bit kinder.

How does this poor Postal worker get anything done with such a short break? I can tell you how as I sat in the parking lot at 2:13 waiting for the door to open at 2:15 again walked in. I was the first customer there had some cards that I was sending out for Easter. They were a little heavier, so I was concerned that they may need a little bit extra postage on them so I asked the employee if he could tell me if they were OK and certainly the first couple he just grabbed them from the box that he has sitting next to him and shook them a little bit and went. Yeah, these are fine and I added some other others that needed stamps after I purchased them and I asked him to check these also he says " I don't have time for that"was only nine additional cards and he said" I'm starting to get a line" maybe two more people behind me constitutes a line but satisfying a customer is certainly a bigger deal for US government employee so I'm just saddened by the fact that he felt that he didn't have enough time after his little lunch break and he was probably worn out from you maybe lunch I was his first customer at 2:15 and he couldn't find the time to finish up my purchase so sad! He also recommend recommended that I find a post office that had more than one employee so he didn't have to strain himself doing this. Very unbelievable task of checking the weight of a card.!

From the outside you would just pass this place up. Much like I did on several occasions. Honestly, this is the only thing in the building, all other businesses that once took up shop here, left. I wouldn't come here for my post office needs, especially since the one in Swissvale is much nicer, and doesn't look like a haunted house on the inside. One thing that is better here is space. There is a ton of it in there and you are not crammed in waiting your turn to get to the counter to buy your stamps/send a package. Even though this place seems uninviting, from my one visit there, it is very busy. People are actually using it.

There is always a line or wait. On many occasions the front clerks either are tied up with other…read morebusiness, are slow or just ignore you. My mail carrier is always late. Apparently this street is near last on his route-arriving after 4 pm. Why not rotate delivery order once in a while so everybody has a chance to get their mail early for a change? On the pkus side, money orders are inexpensive and debit cards can be used, not just cash. There also is no fee for cash back transactions.

One Thursday in the summer of 2023 I came to the realization that I had not received any mail for…read morethe better part week, not even junk, which is strange. Suspicious,I checked the porch on the side of my house which I rarely access or even see except when I mow the lawn (my mailbox is on the front porch) and saw that my mail had been piled up on the floor of the side porch itself, where it could easily have been blown away. The next day I paid a visit to the McKeesport post office and spoke with the person who I took to be the manager. After explaining the situation, she asked me to wait a moment and returned sometime later, having apparently made it a telephone call to letter carrier who had delivered my mail and placed it on my side porch. The reason she gave to me was that the letter carrier, a sub for regular carrier, who was "just a little girl" couldn't access my mailbox because my shrubbery presented a physical obstacle, which seemed unlikely because only days earlier my 80+ year old neighbor paid a visit to my front door and had no problem at all making it past my shrubs, which I am certain would not have hindered access to the front porch. Not long after that, because of reports of mailboxes being broken into and personal checks being stolen and "washed", I began mailing my bills inside the McKeesport post office. I started to become suspicious when I received notice that the AT&T that I had mailed on time had not arrived. After days on the phone with AT&T customer service, they told me that it had finally arrived. I accepted that as a one-off. But a short time later I got a letter saying that my water and sewage bill I had mailed at the McKeesport USPS--also on time--had never arrived. Even more suspicious now, I inquired at the post office but they could not help. It could've gotten lost in the mail, I was told, or "detained at a sorting hub". Anyway, I had mailed the bill in March, and in July, when I received a bill that was suspiciously low, I called Westmoreland Water Authority and was told the March bill had arrived days ago. When I mentioned that I had mailed the bill months ago at the McKeesport post office, the customer service rep told me that that post office is a known problem. In May 2024, I walked into the McKeesport post office to mail a birthday card that had a gift card in it early in the month, which I handed to the postal employee working the window,hopefully to arrive in time for a May 7th birthday. Well, that birthday card never arrived. When three weeks later I decided to investigate at the McKeesport post office, I was given the same excuses. Could've been sorting hub, could've gotten lost. A strange coincidence: the following day the card arrived at its destination! This summer after ordering a small item, weighing only a couple ounces, from Amazon, fulfilled by a third-party vendor and sent to me through the USPS I received an email from Amazon in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday, the day that it was due to arrive, stating that an attempt to deliver it had been made but thatthe item was "undeliverable". The next day, Saturday, I paid a visit to the McKeesport post office to investigate, asking to speak to the manager. I don't remember his exact words, but the explanation of the supposed undeliverability of the item was not clear. I had come prepared with both photos and video on my phone of my property leading to the front porch where my mailbox is, which I showed the managerand asked him if there is enough clearance for the delivery of at my house. His answer was "Yes." The gentleman went into the back of the post office and moments later came back with the very item that was to be delivered to my house. If it was undeliverable the previous day, I wonder if I had not stopped by the post office, when or if it would ever have been delivered. And lastly, the reason why I'm writing this post, yesterday another item from Amazon arrived on my front porch via the USPS, it was a book packed with paper in a somewhat oversized box. Even though the box was sealed with blue Amazon tape, it was clear to me that one of the glued sides of the box had been pried open. The cover of the book inside, which was paperback and cost over $40, was creased in the middle from top to bottom. Certainly, that could have happened at any point from the time of its packaging at the place origination, but in light of the fact that there was a problem with my previous Amazon order that came through the USPS, It stands to reason that the two incidents are connected, possibly due to the fact that I did report the very first incident (the mail being left on my side porch in the summer of 2023). By the way, since May 2023 I have not placed single piece of mail in a mailbox in McKeesport or White Oak, and have had no problems with my bills arriving on time. If someone in authority at the USPS would like to discuss these matters with me, please leave a response here.
