Danika (Daniqa(?)) was excellent - patient, professional, efficient, despite the fact that I had about 20 oversized christmas cards that each needed individual weighing. She answered all my questions (some of the cards were international) - she informed me about the strike of the canadian mail workers (one of the cards was for Canada). Bear in mind that this is a few days before Christmas, with a long line of customers, each with multiple letters, cards, or boxes. Yet, Danika was consistently cheerful, professional and helpful. Kudos to Danika, and to the USPS for hiring employees like her! read more

Monroeville branch of the USPS is by far the worst post office I have ever had to be subjected to both in terms of the quality of their delivery as well as their counter services. If I have anything of importance to mail, I drive to Murrysville or Pittsburgh to deposit it. One can just not count on anything deposited in Monroeville, even if it is being sent to another Monroeville address. I have lived here 5 years, and I am told that this problem is well known and on-going. I have had residential service from 4 other post offices in my many decades of life and cannot think of more than 1 or 2 problems with mail. From Monroeville Branch, I have stopped counting and stopped using them as much as possible. I don't know anyone else who has had from their post office branch, the number and variety of problem that I have experienced with this branch. read more

Went for fingerprints at 9:30 and was told the lady who does fingerprints would be ready in 5 minutes. Waited around for a half hour with other customers who were there for other services who were told to wait 5 minutes. Apparently the fingerprint lady wasn't even there and when she finally showed up she told us to wait 5 minutes, AGAIN. When we said we've been waiting for a half hour the lady responded "okay well it ain't about you we don't all get to work at the same time" RUDE!!!! I will NEVER be back to this location EVER again!!! read more

Monroeville post office isn't forwarding mail. They don't answer the phone, just let it disconnect itself. First they failed to forward it for six weeks, now six months later they are doing the same thing. This is a problem because I need tax documents and financial statements for a deceased parent and I don't live in that state. These other institutions have been sending repeat statements but can't legally send them directly to me. Federal USPS phone number doesn't let you talk to anyone without some kind of official tracking number. I really wish USPS, IRS, Social Security were adequately funded so that it was possible to actually reach someone. read more

I stopped here on the way home for the holidays to purchase some global stamps. This post office unlike the one near me in Oakland reminded of going to the post office with my mom as a kid. The seasonal envelope and packaging displays, the PO Boxes, and the drive-around mailboxes. It was a Christmas Eve so it was pretty calm. Saturday morning, two weeks before Christmas. I needed to ask a couple of questions and expected the place to be packed with clients and with frazzled employees. The place was quite busy however I had the opportunity to witness the employees in action. Kind, calm demeanor, quick and efficient. Additionally, they took control of the situation. I've been in other post offices where people have to fill out papers and they just stay at the counter occupying the position and preventing the agent from continuing to serve other customers. While there were several people that needed to fill out additional papers, the agents politely requested that they step aside and return once the papers were completed. Overall, I have to give this experience a very positive rating and think that the postmaster of this facility needs to be congratulated on running a top-notch facility. Granted, this was just on one interaction however I left with a very favorable impression. read more

I'm a person who is inclined to compliment those who offer good service- and seldom complain, but I am prompted to lodge a complaint re: the Monroeville Post Office because rarely have I witnessed such incompetence- and inconvenience. Before leaving to visit friends in another state, I filled out a form in the post office- and the same form online- to hold my mail for the duration of my absence. Within the week, a neighbor who was watching my house called to say my mailbox was filled to overflowing, and mail was scattered all over my front yard. Of course, my neighbor was kind enough to retrieve the mail from my box and yard, and I called the post office to make them aware of this incident, and to ask again to hold my mail. Wellll--- I spoke with the postmaster, who had to be the rudest individual I have ever encountered. He dug out my form (buried in a pile, he said) but it had not been processed because his staff was "overworked." He actually said this was my "tough luck," and hung up on me. I called the P.O. 800 number, and the woman in their customer service department said they regularly receive complaints about this postmaster. Maybe this will mean this man will be terminated. My neighbor stopped our mail carrier and asked if he would hold my mail- he agreed, but continued to stuff my mailbox to overflowing. Fortunately, my wonderful neighbor faithfully emptied my mailbox until my return. I have always given a generous cash gift to my mail carrier at Christmas time- but not this year. When I asked for a small priority box, I made a mistake. I should have asked for the medium sized. My mistake. I have had nothing but good service. Today, I had exceptional service. I sent out a flat December 23rd and as of 1/12, it hadn't arrived. I had lost the receipt with the tracking. I gave her the charge information and she was able to track the package from that. And it was definitely service with a smile. read more

I have been to many post offices in my time and I have never in all of my days seen a government employee more lazy then the CLERK at the counter by the name of Jodi. I have been into this location several times and every single time I am there, I have multiple packages. If you have multiple packages and Jodi sees it, she will purposely take her time so she does not have to help you. In addition, If she is unable to stall long enough to have someone else take you, she will mozy around finding meaningless things to do such as check her receipt paper, start taking thing to the back or pretend to be doing things on the computer just so she doesn't need to take another person. I physically witnessed her take a customer and they did not know which service they wanted to use to ship, priority or express. So she turns her sign around to say closed and tells the customer to go to the next open attendant because she is taking too long and it is her time to leave. This person does not deserve a job as this is her behavior on a daily basis and there are at least 4% of the United States population that would actually be happy to have the this job and actually do the work. I really hope this review gets to the proper location. read more

Really poor customer service here. Can't really say if they're intelligible or just incompetent. Ordered my glasses online over a month ago and I've not received them so I tracked the package and it's been sitting in this facility for quite some time. I decided to come and pick it up, so I give the worker my information and tracking number. After the third time repeating the tracking number to him, he says "this number is way too long, you don't have any other number I can use?' It felt like he was blaming me for complicating his life with a tracking number that I didn't even choose... he then continues to say 'I only know as much as you do' which didn't really help me, but more so waste 20min of my life. His attitude was very nonchalant and sassy, last thing anyone needed to deal with after a long wait in line. This is not my first rodeo with poor customer service here, it's every time and it's a shame since it's the closest postal office to my home. If you could avoid stopping by here, you should for your own good. read more

USPS is terribly understaffed at their Mnvl Blvd location; their great little store within a store is long closed - it was great!; they are always out of supplies; the parking lot is in disrepair; the line is frequently out the door; my local carrier comments on frequency which packages are delivered to my home - and not in a yay! thanks for using USPS kinda way... So, that's the 3 Stars explained, as I see it. Forgot to mention: I hope I will always be a card-sender and I love (love) stamp artwork! The postal service leaves a lot to be desired. I went Tuesday early morning and paid for 1-3 day priority as I had time sensitive material. I was told guaranteed delivery by Thursday. Sounds good to me. I get a notice on Thursday that it will be delivered by Friday. Ok, not a big deal as long as my documents and check are delivered by Friday. I wake up Saturday morning to a text message of unexpected delay. I paid extra to have this shipped and when I file a formal complaint I am informed, it has been delivered so no refund. Next time I will use FedEx or UPS. I am thoroughly disgusted at the lack of customer service the postal service provides. I got an apology so I guess that is acceptable in their eyes. I needed to renew my post office box. I followed the guidelines for mailing in a payment. After 3 weeks I was notified that I needed to renew my post office box. I checked my bank statements and ALL of the checks written before AND after the one for the post office had been cashed. So, I tried calling. No one ever picks up. So I went there and explained what happened, said it was mailed 3 weeks ago. The wom working there said that it didn't matter. They probably hadn't received it yet. So when i attempt to call about this issue to get it straightened out i get no answer. 3 hours of listening to a phone ringing gets very old. Best place in the universe to people watch, especially if you like watching angry muttering people on line. Staff moves with the speed of drug addled sea turtles. Best day was when the clerk decided to go get something in the back and left the customer standing there for half an hour. He was still standing there when I left, too tired to weep or fight back. I'm sometimes mystified why nobody has jumped the counter and started whacking people in a fit of impotent rage. Today was amazing - I came in at 11:30 and the line went almost to the door. The customer service + mail delivery are sorely lacking. We are often receiving someone else's mail, for which I feel there is NO excuse. I receive mail for my house number but for a totally different street name...I also receive the mail for my next door neighbor...both happen all too often. Remedy? Common sense. While walking up to the recipient's house, flip thru the pieces to ensure the address line is correct ~ simple, quick & easy! The customer service is appalling. It wasn't always so bad; I've lived here for 30 years. Now? Long lines being served by lazy, incompetent employees who should be schooled on how to efficiently & pleasantly deal with the public. Example: the last time I had the displeasure of having to walk in for additional postage, I had to wait in line for 20 minutes (There were 4 people ahead of me, & 2 clerks who were busy gabbing to each other about break time.) When I finally got to the counter & the woman laid my mail on a scale, another woman came out from the back to inquire had either dropped a twenty dollar bill outside of the employee restroom. Answer: no. (Here on out, I'll refer to her as WFB...woman from back.) So WFB stands there for minimum 5 minutes, interrupting, rambling on about how she found it & didn't know what to do, distracting my clerk to where she was repeatedly turning around to converse with her. WFB finally walks away. As I'm getting ready to pay, incredibly, WFB reappears! She is still "anxious" about what to do & asks my clerk where she thinks she should put the money! My clerk leaves her station & proceeds to leave the work floor with WFB!! By then, my patience has worn thin & I'm seething. After about 5 minutes, my clerk returns to finish our transaction, without a word of apology. I remained silent, as I could feel my blood pressure was up, & it just wasn't worth it to say anything...they clearly don't care. Which brings me to my final comment ~ the manager is rude, nonchalant, & accepts no responsibility. The buck stops with him & the results speak for themselves. A package was scheduled for delivery on Sunday Sept 10. When it did not show up, I checked with the Amazon and found a message: delivery could not be made due to the inability to access the front door/driveway. This is pure BS. I was home at the delivery time and there was no blockage anywhere. One of 2 things happened. The delivery person went to the wrong address. The delivery person just made up the delivery problems for whatever reason. And have you ever tried to reach your actual local post office to talk to someone: FORGET IT! read more

Beyond a HORROR! I don't even know where to start except to agree with all the negative reviews already posted. I haven't gotten any mail for 3 days now.....I've lived here for 35 years and have always gotten at least junk mail every day. I know I have mail/bills floating around out there somewhere.....this isn't the 1st time recently that I've been mail-less for days either.....I once received 2 bills a month after they were due....property tax bill.....after it was due. I know my delivery is just being skipped because I didn't even receive the Times Express this week.....the delivery person gets the house above me when he/she does the upper part of the street then pulls below my house, does one side, then up my side then into the truck.....Maybe it would help if they'd have ONE PERSON delivering in this area....not someone different every day or every couple days.....let them LEARN the route. When you call the post office you get some screaming maniac answering the phone.....nasty as can be.....although I have to say last month when I called about the poor mail service I did speak to a very pleasant lady. read more

I concure, the WORST post office in the nation. It was a sad day when the US Postal Authorities chose to close the Plum Borough Post Office for processing of mail and moved operations to Monroeville. The staffing of the counters is poorly thought out, and the staff that is there is VERY slow and often inadequately trained. I mail as little items as I can, as they are consistently lost or arrive late. I had mail sent from the Punxytawney Post Office arrive at destinations closer to Monroeville quicker than from the Monroeville office itself. There's a reason why this post office has such terrible reviews: It's the people who work there. Are they slow? Yes. Do they seem to hate their job? Yes. Are they rude and unprofessional? Absolutely. Today I dealt with a woman who as Rodney Dangerfield would say is the inspiration for twin beds. This woman, a middle aged white female who always wears her blonde hair in a braided pony tail, refused to wait on me because I dared to stand up for myself when she LOUDLY began to argue with me in front of multiple customers about a custom form I had filled out. I needed to get out of line because I didn't fill it out to her Nazi inspired standards. It didn't matter that I had another package she could ring up - as I corrected the other custom form - which did have the custom form filled out correctly. NO! I needed to get out of line immediately Why? Because she said so, that's why. And what was wrong exactly? I didn't write a "1" for the quantity of items in the package. It didn't matter that I wrote "poster" under the description. Not "posters", plural. Just poster, singular. Utter stupidity on her part. Stupid, ignorant, and unprofessional. What kind of employee loudly argues with a customer and then walks away from their register to get a so called supervisor to make the customer leave? What company allows such atrocious behavior? The Monroeville, PA post office, that's who. Anyone who's ever run a business will tell you the key to success is your people.
