Does this mean someone stealing packages from the store? since it has no record for packages to be moved to the next facility. They just don't care your stuff. Without receipt and scanning record, you could not even initiate any investigation or claim loss. read more

I spoke with the delivery supervisor, Augustina, today to track down a package and get it moving to its destination. She was persistent in tracking it down, explained the reason for the issue/delay, and seemed committed to getting it moving. She mentioned that my postal carrier out of that office found the error and took the initiative to resolve it. I am so appreciative. read more

This is a nice post office pretty good size too. The staff was quick and helpful and answered all of my questions . Parking was easy to access I can be a little bit challenging at times to get out because there are two very busy roads right outside but it's not that bad . I decided to get a PO Box here because I am new to the area and they were quick to get me taken care of and gave me lots of options as far as how long I might need it for a different payment plans . So that made things very easy and less stressful . This is a great place to get your mail in my opinion . read more

Always a long wait very dirty very unprofessional the us postal service is a scam sure they send mail WHEN THEY WANT TO but they make you pay for a tracking label to guarantee that whatever your sending gets sent otherwise they will deny anything and everything when your letter is lost nothing is documented unless you pay for it to be which proves the fact that the us postal service scams and preys on peoples anxieties in order to make more money and this location enables everything wrong with the us postal service. I think every piece of mail should be recorded and documented regardless of a tracking label otherwise who's to say this organization is even trustworthy enough to handle a simple letter . I guarantee years from now there will be a massive lawsuit against the us postal service and their crooked system but until then we are left praying that are important letters get to whoever we send them to and hope the employees do their jobs which is messed up considering our tax dollars pay for them to do what they are being paid for I think it's time they are reminded and held responsible for every mistake they make on our dollar.so far speaking for myself the us postal service cost me 150$ just this year alone from losing my letters and hurt my credit and denied everything saying it's over their heads every time I tried resolving the issues. Newark DE post office is ridiculous. Never enough people working. Can wait over an hour. Mail delivery doesn't come half the time. When it does it's not mine. If it comes it's after 6:00 PM. I've never seen anything like it. Postage rates keep going up and service keeps going down. I won't even mail anything from New York anymore. Half the times it never gets to its destination. I have a post office box here and have no complaints. I do not always pick up my mail in a timely manner so the staff has to put it aside until there is a big bin of mail. Despite this the staff doesn't give me the stink eye, they are simply friendly and helpful. Long lines? I guess it's relative; it's certainly not like the DMV. The average line is probably 4 to 9 people. I just read something on my phone while I wait, so no complaints here. Why the three stars? The person who delivers my mail to my physical address is an another story and a sad one at that, hence the p.o. box. He/She constantly puts my mail in the wrong box so I lose small packages to a grabby neighbor. Some weeks I get the grocery store flyers and some weeks nothing. I don't really want to complain! But，I'm really angry and don't accept this attitude。I went to ship things there three times in the morning, and I was rejected three times! The reason is that two days late on my label, it said that day's label can only be sent and asked me to change the label again! I went to another post office three times and it was delivered , no problem at all. Do I have to send the label on the same day I bought it, and it will not be sent after two days? I am writing this review because I feel bad about the negative review this particular office has been receiving. it is true that lines in this office are long, but it is also because they are open so much longer than any other post office in the area! So I see lot if people dropping off packages before or after office hours (like me). I've also had some amazing positive experiences here, like the rep who told me about "media mail" allowing me to post a book to California for under 3$, including tracking! I routinely mail documents and packages overseas and the service team are always super-helpful about the customs forms and informing about insurance. For those who are annoyed about high wait times, Let's face facts. We go to the USPS office only if our package doesn't allow you to apply for an electronic mailing label or is too precious to drop off using a kiosk and/or we want receipts by hand. Or (like me) you dont want to pay 100s of dollars to FedEx or UPS. In all these cases, our package is something complicated that is going to take TIME with manual processing. So expecting the representatives behind the counter to complete it within microseconds is a little harsh. read more

People like to cut in line and act like there isn't a line of 10 people already waiting. Oh and not to mention the guy got frustrated as decided to empty his drawer in the back and make us wait. Considering he gets a pension through the government I wouldn't complain. I would just do my easy job for twenty years and retire. This has been the most pathetic post office I've ever used. It's been this way for years so apparently since they are the sole one close by, we're stuck. I was there today (2/8) at 2 pm and there was a line out to the door. ONE person behind the counter. Given the number of university students that use this place whoa be it unto you if someone is getting passport help. Even the kiosk didn't work, it was out of stamps recently In late December the four boxes outside to collect mail were overflowing approx. one hour before they were due to be emptied. YOUR Government at "work". I don't blame the clerks, it's the supervision that sucks. read more

Had to have my mailbox re-keyed when I moved into my new house. They got back to us in a few days and said that it had been completed. When I finally got the keys and tried them today they don't work. We had to pay 20$ to have the mailbox re-keyed and we still can't even get our mail due to them giving us the incorrect keys. The only plus side was that since I went at 11am I was able to get in and out of this post office with in minutes. read more

Do not mail anything mission critical here. My rent check was stolen from an express mail envelope that disappeared in transit recently. It was mailed from here. They aren't interested in taking those reports here, or anywhere. You can fill out a form online and a machine will email you back tell you what claim number it's being ignored under. Nobody human will ever be involved or interested. Foreign students you would be well advised to treat USPS with the same distrust and skepticism that you have for the same government agency in your country. FedEx and UPS are both much more reliable, and unless the only destination address you have is a P.O. Box you can use either just fine. read more

Not mind long lines, that's expected. The service is horrible. I get much better service from the post office in New Castle. I was told it was the main post office, mail from other offices goes there, but I mailed a tracked letter to a small town in Maryland. I send one every 2 weeks. This one went from Newark, Delaware, to New Jersey, to Washington D.C. to Baltimore. Was told 7-10 days for a letter. So I hand delivered a second one round trip was 1 1/2 hrs. If I could give 0 stars I would... trying to get a passport processed was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever had to deal with. They took so long, they don't answer there phone to make an appointment but when you go into the office they say you need an appointment... I called 6 TIMES the day before and not a single answer. This post office always has a ridiculously long line. Once you finally see an employee the service is great. But, seriously, don't plan to just "run in" to this location. More than once I have given up and left after waiting ten minutes or longer. And the facility really needs to be renovated. read more

This post office is consistently understaffed during high peak hours. I visit regularly (2-3x week) and I could identify high traffic hours yet during these times they consistently have minimal staff available, often one staff member is working when lines are out the door. Staff are also very short and at times rude. As I shared, I'm there often so I do recognize that sometimes the customers can be short and inconsiderate as well however the attitudes, unprofessional sarcasm of one staff member in particular (Mr. Smith as referenced in another post- he didn't have his name tag ) and negative talk once the customer leaves makes this a very tense atmosphere. read more

So, this post office has sunk to a new low. Came home at 5pm today (8-13-16) to no mail delivered and the package to be mailed out still sitting by the mailbox. The red flag was up so they didn't 'overlook' the 18" x 18"x 9" box that was to be mailed out today through parcel post. It is now 7:19 pm and looks like we won't be getting our mail delivery again today! This is not the first time we have not received our mail on a Saturday. Whatever is going on down at this post office - they need a change in management. Oh! and the box was placed at the side of the mailbox at 7am this morning, so yes - it was out in plenty of time to have been picked up IF our mail had been delivered today. I agree that the lines can be long but, alot of the people that are on here complaining don't follow instructions, come unprepared or at the very least don't know how to address an envelope. Instead of complaining work on yourself before you come to the post office. read more

We have to wait every day until 4 o'clock or after to get our mail. When everything is getting ready to close. Absolutely horrible!! I don't care about the long lines. I expect good service when I get to the front, so everyone else should be given good help too. BUT the clerk that helped me refused to print a shipping label, tried his best to loudly humiliate me in front of my wife and other customers, wouldn't let me use a pen or marker to write the address and then kicked me out of my spot when he made me walk half way across the room to use a broken pen on a separate counter. The WORST customer service ever. Long lines are the norm. Surly clerks behind the counter. The couldn't care less about you or their poor service, the gray haired bearded guy who works in the passport area- is a complete miserable, unhappy, JERK. And the fun does not stop here. I travel alot for my job, and each time I fill out the yellow "please hold my mail" card and hand it to my carrier- or mail it in, within plenty of time. 4 times in the past year my mail was never held for me as I requested. When I returned home my mailbox was overflowing. Completely unacceptable. Their mail carriers also leave a lot to be desired. I have asked my regular carrier to NOT WALK THRU MY FLOWER BEDS.... yet he still does. WTF??!! The 4 mailboxes out front, for drivers to reach out and place their letters in the chute- are always packed and stuffed full, so much so that the letters are jammed up the chute. Obviously someone is failing to do their job by emptying the mailboxes on schedule. 2 phone calls to the office resulted in me getting screamed at by some miserable woman. So much for that! I called the regional post office supervisor in NJ and got a much better response. It's funny, because the Main Street post office just a few minutes away- has great service, which is where I go now if needed. read more

Arrogant, nasty, rude, self entitled employees...not just one...every one I have dealt with. If you want a prime example of lazy government workers...just check this place out. These people have zero respect for anyone and the level of low grade management is astounding. And the disgust isn't just reserved for this dirty run down location...no...the delivery people are even more vile. Have watched them deliver to the mailbox, go out and get mail to find a recipient not home notice...not one but many times....yes these lazy people don't even bother to get out of the vehicle, they just say your not home. Have also witnessed them throwing packages at peoples front door from feet away. Seriously need to fire every single person in this branch..starting with the managers. read more
