Let me share my experience with this place. I used to physically go there to mail items that were important to my business. And the employees there did their job as expected but did it in a way that made you feel like they were doing you a favor. But that is not the worst of it. Today I asked them why my package hadn't arrived when it said did arrive online, and it was because they sent it to my old address. Then I asked them how is that possible, since I had made sure that most of my mail would be forwarded from my old address to my current address. One of their employees (whose name shall be withheld) said, "that forwarding request only lasts for one year." Now I know for a fact that is BS because the last letter I got had a yellow label on it that says "forwarded from (previous address)" just two bloody days ago. And it gets WORSE! I went to my old address and thank God my former receptionist saved not just my package but all my mail from April 2024 and so on (keep in mind that was two months after telling them to forward my mail to the current address). Again no thanks whatsoever to that bloody post-office on 2nd Avenue. If anyone wonders why I'm this indignant, that mail I was supposed to receive were reimbursement checks from various health insurance companies, credit card processing statements and 1099 forms that my accountant needed from last year. With that said, that post office (the one I'm writing about) needs to shape or ship out. Thankfully with "the man" in the White House, he might trim the fat out of this place. read more

Earlier this week I called and spoke to a female employee at the NHP USPS who informed me I could get my fingerprinting done at this location. I confirmed the date and time I would arrive at the post office and received verbal confirmation from a real, live, person that I could do this. I took an Uber to get there because my car was in the auto shop. Upon my arrival, the male employee told me I couldn't get my fingerprints done, despite me having a barcode which indicated they were a USPS location that completes fingerprinting, a printout of my pre-registration, and having called a few days prior to confirm I could do it at this exact day and time. He said the machine "wasn't activated yet," and could not tell me a definitive time it would be fixed by. I asked to speak to the manger, a female employee, who told me that no one would have told me to come this date/time as the machine was broken. I didn't speak to an operator, I spoke to a live female who told me she worked here! Absolutely ridiculous. She refused to do anything to help me, despite me paying for a package a few minutes earlier. She said there was nothing she could do for me and that I'd have to call their supervisor Fran when she was back from vacation. The story changed, of course, and Fran was the only one who could fix the fingerprinting machine... it's not that "it wasn't activated yet." Despite having print outs of my registration, a bar code in my email, and calling beforehand to check, I wasted my time and energy. I will be calling Fran when she gets back from vacation to fix this. Disgusting customer service and attitude from the employees and a lack of willingness to help. read more

Trying to check if they have a package they claim I told them not to deliver to my house and they are holding it at the facility. There is no listed phone number for the facility just a useless 800 number that provides no information and doesn't have a live agent. So I had to travel to the post office and of course they could not find the package or determine where it was even though I had a tracking number. They sent me to the annex two blocks away and gave me their phone number and of course it rang and no one answered so I went over there and no one answered the door even though I saw people in the building A day well spent. With this unsatisfactory situation it is no wonder they are going bankrupt. Zero rating!! read more

Super busy post office After my post office that i just went to was having a problem with their machine to send a package to china (returning) an item. The lady was very helpful in helping me choose what it was i wanted to send the package back to china with. Insurance vs no insurance. Signed delivery vs not signed. So many options and boy does the prices add up! Although the place was busy the lines kept moving. Parking is limited so beware of the signs! read more

This is not my first experience with Monique, and every time it has been unpleasant, painful, almost like doing hard time in Rikers. She is slow, lazy, unprofessional, has NO WORK ETHIC, and she would never make it in a private sector job for even an hour. I would suggest that you have her retrained, but she is untrainable. Not only was she rude to me with an attitude, but she was mumbling something about me as I walked away. I would drive for an hour to another post office to avoid dealing with this POS. It's employees like her that make people choose Fedex or UPS for their transactions. SMH read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had my mail held while I was away on vacation. They lost my mail!! Now they don't want to speak to me about it. They hang up I suppose every time they see me on Caller ID. I will be filing a complaint. This place is the worst. read more

I live on the Queens side of NHP and as a result my mail get mail delivered from this Nassau post office. I have visited this post office less than a dozen times in decades because other offices are closer to me. However in terms of delivering mail they are pretty bad. For a decade the mailman would deliver everyday after 5 pm, sometimes as late as 8 pm in the dark. Finally they took him off the route and gave us a new mailman who delivered before noon. That was great but as time went on, this mailman now works the route maybe three days a week and many weeks doesn't work the route at all. We then get fill in mailmen who may be covering multiple routes and as a result mail gets delivered late in the day on those days we actually get mail. read more

We need to appreciate our essential workers. The customer facing staff are wonderful. I've never had an issue when sending out packages.

Been dealing with this post office my whole life never had any problem. Being retired I live in NHP during the summer, then head out to Arizona in the fall. Stopping mail and forwarding mail is a hassle. Fran, the manager has been most helpful in helping me with getting the mail to the right place. Love the service I get there! Thanks. read more

I had a great transaction at the post office. I went in to purchase stamps and I needed to fill an envelope but was unprepared to go to the window. Monique helped with my other transactions while I filled out my envelope. She was very patient with me and asked if I needed extra services and gave an explanation of what they provide. I selected certified based upon my needs. She even reviewed my receipt and showed me the expected date the addressee would receive the letter and my purchases. Monique was extremely professional and courteous and I am extremely satisfied with the service I received. I have had bad experiences and this was a total opposite from those times. read more

Not like this review is going to change anything, but this post office sucks. Unfortunately we've been dealing with them for years. As a business, we're lucky to get our mail maybe once a week... Whenever I have to drop off the mail that wasn't picked up the employees are rude... and when we call them, they see our phone number on the caller ID and hang up. I don't know why I come to this location. Well I mean I do, my po box is here, but that's the only reason why. This place is always so slow. They have counter space for four or five employees but I've never seen more than two. And usually it's just one. The people are usually pretty nice but sometimes they're not always the brightest bulbs. And I think because of that the service really is lacking in this location. Oh man I wish I can drop a -1 Star for this place! Seriously lousy customer services.Shame on this branch and it's management team for not providing at least a satisfactory in service for passport customers. I came her for my 6 mo old daughter passport to be done, the lady who helped us had no heart! I was missing the back copy of the Birth certificate part ( Which didn't state to make a copy off ) and she wouldn't bother to make a copy for us! All she said was our copier is down and not working! Mind you my daughter on my arms getting cranky and me wondering not one copy machine working in this big office building the size of a Costco? I had one of the worst experiences of my life here. I have been coming to this post office for 25 yrs. the service is usually tolerable but today I was spoken to with such rudeness, contempt and sarcasm I was shaken and extremely humiliated in front of a crowded room full of customers.
