I personally think that it would be unfair to rate all US Post Offices the same. There are many workers suffering with underlying behaviors and underlying issues caused by socio- cultural pressures influencing each postal workers movement. That being said, I have not experienced any complications at this post office, the clerks provide excellent customer service. Also the postal service is an excellent alternative for greeting cards and gift cards. One way USPS can improve in customers service is by broadening the gift card selection. By doing so would increase revenue for the postal service while giving the customer another reason to shop at the post office. I took a friend to Target to purchase a couple of gift cards. The lines were extremely long. I told my friend that the postal service sells gift cards, she stated that she didn't know that. So we scurried on over to the local post office to find that there selection was limited to almost nothing. I was so embarrassed that I suggested to go. Now we must go back to Target when the lines deminish. Even though my word of mouth didn't help either parties, I'm still inclined to.. Inspire more, Yelp more. read more

There is always a line at this location, no matter what time you show up. It always feel as if time moves slower while in here. There's no sense of urgency when there's a line out the door. there's about five people in there and but only two are working at a time. Janiqua and Julie were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help me with my kids' passports. Janiqua took her time to get my autistic son's pictures even though it was a challenge because he's non verbal. She was patient and careful to make him feel comfortable. Julie postponed her break to help us finish since she didn't want us to wait with 3 kids. Just two amazing individuals who made this stressful experience much more bearable! read more

Snail mail. Having a small thing to mail, and being in the area I used to live in, I popped in here to get the thing mailed and I walk smack into a massive line of people waiting to do their holiday mailing etc. Silly them- I managed to move a few people out of my way, got access to the automated mailing machine that most of the post offices have now and mailed my stuff in like 2 minutes - all while the rest of the schlubs looked on. I don't understand why more people do not use those... Win! Parking on the street or a free lot up on the corner. read more

Awful, awful, AWFUL! There has never been a time that I have came to this location and had a positive experience. Be prepared for long lines, and staff that complains in front of you and can't work efficiently for the life of them. I came in on a Friday and paid $25 to have a package sent over night to a location not even 40 miles away. The package never arrived, and it's now Monday at 2 PM, and the package is still not there. I called this location about 10x to see what the process was and no one answers the phone. I ended up visiting this location just to be told that I have to wait for my package to be delivered before I can even get my money back. Thanks for nothing- as usual! read more

I was receiving a package as a gift for someone and was requesting that it be held at the facility so I can pick it up myself, which is not a very difficult request. I was met with the most rude lady that said she can hold it but would be forced to deliver since she doesn't "believe" that I'm the actual person receiving the package. I called back the next day to someone slightly more helpful (or so I thought) who said he would hold the package and I would've able to have it delivered on a set day. As I called back a third time because my package for some reason was NOT sent to me I was told they "don't know where it is. I was forced to call back once again only to find out that they have shipped it back to the sender. Now I have to reach out to the sender and request another delivery which will make it so I don't have the package in time to give as a gift. this place fricking sucks and best of luck to anyone who's package UNFORTUNATELY lands here. read more

One of the worst businesses I've ever had to deal with. One of the workers Chris is constantly miserable and does is job dragging his/her feet. I always try to avoid him and it's clear other due too! The manager Silvia I think is her name took my information down and told me she'd contact me in 2 days about a package that they lost over a month ago. I've sent the same package to the same address many times before and never had an issue. The one time I do it with Chris my package gets lost and it's worth a 400 dollar return if on time. Really sad how some people choose to behave at work. read more

Worst post office ever! I had a 2:30-3:00 appointment and arrived at 2:40pm and they refused to take me. The lady in front of me said they were running a half hour behind and she had to wait over a half hour for her appointment. I said to the lady working behind the counter that if I got her at 2:30 I would have had to wait over a half hour any way so I don't understand why me being 10 minutes late even matters. The whole line of people there agreed it made no sense! I had everything ready for my children's passports because that was all I was doing was two child passports. It would have taken her all of 5 minutes to do it but she was too lazy to. I cannot believe as a Franklin Square resident that they would be so rude. Passport appointments are not easy to get especially with children in school. My daughters bus was late otherwise I would have been there on time but would have just had to wait anyway! Apparently the post office can be late with apppointments but their paying customers cannot. Just ridiculous! read more

This post office is the worst I've ever dealt with, they lose packages and then mark them as delivered and you will never get a straight answer from anyone. They know we can't do anything about their horrible attitude and lack of professionalism. There's absolutely nothing we can do to hold them accountable for not caring about our mail. They literally don't care about any complaints cause it doesn't go anywhere. They have lost my dogs very important medication more than once ...my dog suffers while they lie to me. The postmaster and Natalie have been the same people I have to deal with and NOTHING ever get corrected ...the only thing that happens is I have to watch my dog suffer until a new order get sent through a different delivery service. read more

Post office claims the mail gets taken to brooklyn for processing....so what, somehow all those invitations got lost along the way? 03-23-18 Approx. 2:15 pm at the Franklin Square, LI, NY 11010 post office. I was born and raised here and am known in this post office. YET My wife and I, we feel, were just DISCRIMINATED against with possible racism attached by one of the tellers (counter people)! We came in to renew my wife's Passport with 3 tellers working. Two tellers doing customers and 1 doing passports. When we were called up to the counter we asked about having the passport renewed and this woman teller said either one of the other two women can do it but I can't, right now the (she didn't say it this way but to show you I am) white woman is doing them and the Indian woman can do them as well. The white woman told me to wait about 20 minutes and said she might be able to fit us in. The Indian woman, who told me the other day for renewals you don't need an appointment, said she couldn't do it as the white woman is and we can't do more than 1 passport at a time. White teller got done and called us up and started to take care of passport renewal when the next appointment showed up. We look over to the Indian teller and she takes on a New Passport, not a renewal, applicant of Spanish decent! We told the white teller of what the Indian teller told us, while the PO had no customers and two tellers doing nothing, and she said that it wasn't right and she apologized for her. This is Discrimination and b/c my wife and I are white I feel it's also racist on the Indian tellers part! In this day and age I can't believe this is going on in Franklin Square and at the Gov't job of the Post Office! As the Indian Teller was dong the applicant, she kept looking over at us! read more

The slowest post office in life! How are there four individuals working behind the desk with this line moving like a snail. Yes it's conveniently open on Saturday until 2:00 PM, but I could've literally took a nap and still wouldn't be at the front of the line!
