06/25 Staples, in my experience, is a big hit or miss. I ordered some product on line for delivery. Checked out and payment was submitted. I get an email later in the day stating that they were out of the product ordered and a refund will be issued. I go in store on 6/28 and they have all the product that I needed except for one piece that I could do without. I wanted colored ink only but they had colored and black ink in one pack. It will work so no harm done. This visit, I had exemplary customer service without delay. So visiting the store was a hit and ordering online was a miss, but not always! I stopped by Staples to return a few Amazon items, as it's one of the locations that accepts Amazon returns. When I walked in, I was surprised to discover that Staples has partnered with Party City and now features a Party City section inside the store. It was unexpected to see balloons, party supplies, and decorations alongside the usual office supplies. The service was great, as always. There always seems to be someone available and willing to help when needed. The location is convenient, and the return process was quick and easy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'll definitely be back whenever I need to make another Amazon return. read more

I stopped in to drop off a return package for Gap Factory. There's one person returning Amazon items so I thought it would be a fast experience. NOPE! She apparently had a box on the floor with plenty of packages to be returned. The Staples employee was working very efficiently despite this customer's many returns. When it was my turn, the employee asked me to wait because she had to help customers waiting for printing and copying orders. She did a few of those people and then came back to me. Another customer further back asked if another Staples employee could come to help and she said no, she was alone. A+ for the worker who kept her cool and worked as fast as humanly possible. The customer service in this location totally sucks. I went to drop off Amazon return package. There were 6 employees standing in the copying section of the store. I was the only customer in this store. They saw me. There was nobody at the drop off desk. I waited for 5 minutes without even being acknowledged, then another customer came and stood behind me. After a second she was asking me what's going on here. Only then one of the employees with attitude in her voice told us " our system is down - thank you " So incredibly rude!!! The other customer told me that they are always rude like this and that they always ignore customers in this location. Whatever salaries they are making it's way too much. I came by to this location as it is the first week of the year, I need to replenish my home office supplies. As always the staff here are always willing to help me in the things that I am looking for in the store, in fact I was asked twice by two different staff if I needed help. When I got to the check-out the cashier suggested a different brand of what I bought and expressed that what she suggested is on sale, I have experienced this pleasant situation in this location so many times, the good part is they help me save a few bucks. The line was pratically out the door the other day when my mom wanted to stop in and grab an electric pencil sharpener real quick. I decided I'd stay in the car because i KNOW when she says she is running in for ONE thing she ends up in this place for an hour.. Not because she ends up picking up more stuff...but BECAUSE the line is always so damn long she ends up standing in their forever. It truly doesn't matter what time of year it is. My experience was a positive one. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Cathy. Immediately I was greeted with a smile. She asked how she could assist me and invited me to the counter to discuss my request. She took the time to listen, and then confirmed my request for accuracy. The service was prompt, pleasant and I found her to be very personable. As a side note, this was at 7pm. I'm not sure how long she was at work today but one would believe it was the top of her day. My gf and I had the WORST shopping experience of my entire life at the @Staples on Jericho Turnpike in Bellrose NY this past Saturday at around 1:50pm. We went in to buy a printer, had the Sales Manager show us a few printers on sale. After he went back to the counter, my gf and I did some price comparison online, looked up reviews, all the normal things people do when shopping. We select an HP 7855 marked down to $99, (which was the first one he showed us) and brought it to the counter. At the counter, he asks how much the printer was. We told him it was $99. He then went to the section where the printers are for about 2 minutes, and calls us over saying he cant find the price we mentioned. We come over to check and THEY CHANGED THE PRICE to $229! From the 2 minutes of us picking up the printer and bringing it to the counter, someone (or this "sales manager") changed the price card! When we told him that someone changed the price, he spent the next 20 minutes trying to convince us that the price was $229 the whole time. He then had the other in-store "manager" talk down to us as if we made up the whole thing or were confusing the prices with other prices we saw. Right as we decided to give up and leave, we remembered that we looked up reviews online. As we pull up @staples website, the hp 7855 was right there for $99!!! They then kept fighting us that this online price cant be honored in store, (eventhough the instore price was $99 before they switched it). They eventually sell us the printer for the CORRECT price of $99. After all this, we take the printer home, open it, and it's a used piece of junk! It was missing instructions, pieces, it was dusty and had been used! My experience in this location was none like any other. I am constantly at staples for various printing purposes. I do a lot of freelance graphic and print work. I usually get my printing done in the city because it is convenient for my commute, home from work. My fiance offered to drive me to the queens village location because the city locations could not help me and I needed my work that same evening. As soon as I approached the the copy and print department I was greeted with a smile from SINGH. This was very refreshing because I had dealt with a lot of negative energy concerning my printing job. Singh was very ready, willing, and able to get my printing job completed that same evening. He was also handing almost 5 to 10 customers work at once and he approached everyone with the same kindly manner as he approached me. Do not place orders with the printing center. They are a hot mess. No communication. Horrific customer service. They Pass the Buck. Have no organization, have no clue what they doing. Placed order for business cards at the "business center." I highly recommend you go anywhere else to order business cards! You would think you were asking them for a baby. Unreal! Good luck. Went Through the Staples website I ordered floorplans at 8:14 am to be printed for same day pickup, the pick up time that Staples gave me was 8:30pm same day. The store had 12 hours and didn't print out my order until I showed up at 8:30pm and stood in front of them.... it took 10 minutes for them to print out. The 2 sets of plans were supposed to be stapled on a single side, which I paid extra for wasn't done either. A customer came in went to the same sales associate. The customer was greeted with all smiles and was helped. The staff here works so hard so I feel bad writing a review about how it's hard to find an employee here. This is really directed towards management if anything. Your employees are great and there are a couple that have taken a significant amount of time out of their busy day to help me find something, but the place is definitely understaffed and needs more associates. Going downhill. Waited twenty minutes for service. In the meantime we found a kiosk with the Fire bundle. It was not on display and there was no price. So when the salesperson showed up we ask for help the price was right. But the manager had to get it. Twenty minutes later it turns out they don't have any even though the kiosk is full of empty boxes. Instead he tries to sell us a higher priced model. We say no. Manager asks us to wait maybe he can find one in another store. Twenty minutes later he's a no show. In the meantime we found it on Amazon for the same reasonable price shipped free in two days. I'm writing this negative review only after several negative experiences with this store. Used to be great. Now poorly run and staff unhelpful. read more

Great store with variety. Sale prices are the deal. Not many employees to help in the aisles. The managers are hands on working and helping. That means the employees are on their toes and helpful. They have sufficient of whatever you want and what's 'on sale'. This store is also a UPS and USPS participant. Making it convenient all around. Plenty of parking is also a plus. If you're in the neighborhood and need something, use them. read more

This is the worst staples, the only reason I come here is because it's near my home and job. This place sold us a defective printer, which I understand it was not the store's fault; but the hassle they gave us when we tried to exchange it less than 24 hours later was ridiculous. The manager said we had to purchase the protection plan for it. Um, no. After a lot of arguing, we were able to exchange it; but not before the manager told us this was the "last time" he would allow that. If you sell a product that doesn't work you Have to take it back, you're not doing me a favor. This was only one incident. I shop here often because I constantly need office supplies, so every month we spend about $1000 on average. (It's for work) Staples is always advertising they have the lowest prices because of their price match guarantee. Well, if you find the product lower somewhere else and come here for convenience get ready for the run around. They are going to check on your phone, add it to the cart on your phone and then go around to their own computers and check on there, you know, just in case you decided to build a fake amazon.com in order to save a couple of dollars. I don't recommend this place, horrible customer service. They have too many "procedures" for price match. Also, if you're looking for someone to help you, good luck. There are barely any floor employees and they literally run from you. As you start walking toward one they start power walking in the opposite direction. If by chance you catch one before he runs into the stock room he's probably already helping someone else and you're going to have to wait a while. I have never seen more than 1 cashier working at a time so there usually is a line. read more

We went to the Valley Stream Staples which I won't recommend anyone to go too. The service there was horrible. We needed invitations done for a celebration that we were hosting. The guy (Kyle) that printed our invitations looked like he was fighting zombies and he kept flirting, playing around, and eating pretzels with his co-friend sitting behind the computer. Very unprofessional as well as unkempt. Black and Brown dreads and a very rumpled staples shirt as if he had just tumbled in a field full of weeds. He was in a serious zone when asked questions about printing paper and he looked as if he didn't want to be there. Honestly the loc in Valley Stream needs to be tore down and the space needs to be reused for a multi-plaza. Ever time I come it's always a different story. At the Jericho store loc. the lady that I and my fiancée saw was Rachel. She was very kind to us and attentive. She redid an invitation order that Valley Stream made a huge mistake on. I'll give her 5 Stars. The only downfall was the invitations that Rachel did was missing the background detailing (embroidered image) which made the invitations cards look nice and they didn't have a sharp / good quality cutter for us to cut our invitations so we had to drive back over to the Valley Stream staples to use their cutter. We decided to call the store before going back to Valley Stream to stalk to a manger and see what could be done but no one was picking up the phone. I like that this location has a shipping center to accept USPS parcels and UPs parcels. Overall this location can use some improvement. Their products and items are not organized and so finding items can be difficult. In passing the managers show interested to greet their customers and offer help, however the other staff members just pass along and seem to run away from their customers. A few times in my visits, I have asked the copy and print center questions about printing or about the different grades of paper to print on. I am not a fan of those employees who pas the baton to another employee and say to me that they don't have the answers, I will have to ask someone else. Once in particular I inquired about a specific card stock paper. I usually purchase my own pack of paper and use as needed. I did not want to open a pack of card stock paper in their paper department so I decided to see if they have the same paper already opened in the Copy and Printer center. The manager of the store said sorry the packs you buy are not what we print on. You have to use what we have in order to print your documents. I was a bit baffled in that I've brought my own paper to them many times to have large quantities of documents printed in the past. I still come back to this location because it is the closest staples from home for me. I guess I'll either need to move or travel further for better customer service. read more
