It has been two weeks and we have yet to receive a single piece of forwarded mail. I called the Waldwick post office to speak with the Postmaster and was told that they don't come in till 10am. At approximately 10:30am I called again. She still was not in, so Corina helped me. She confirmed my request was in the system. She also called my new post office to confirm that they have not received anything. She stated that my mail must be at the sorting location and should be arriving "in drips and drabs" soon. Corina went above and beyond, so I thank her, but if you are moving make sure you put in your request at least two weeks prior. The mail has gotten SO slow.

Since I did get those 2 pieces of mail I know that I did the forward and the follow up validation in the internet. I just spent an hour calling the Saddle River post office starting at 3:45 and finally I called the Saddle River police because I thought that something might be wrong over to at the post office. The recording at the post office clearly states that they are open until 5:pm and that you should hold until "The next available agent is available". I held as the number that was ringing cut me off after about 12 rings. I called back 12 times and got the same result. This is a tiny office that wasn't busy enough during COVID days to be under staffed enough to not be able to answer a phone for over 40 minutes. I asked to drop off a prepaid package--something that should be quick and easy--but Eric, the so-called "lead," insisted I wait in the same long line as others needing full services like label creation. It's as absurd as being asked to stand in line just to drop off a letter. When I questioned why prepaid drop-offs couldn't be handled separately, Eric became rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He initially refused to provide his name and only reluctantly gave his first name without further identification. His behavior created an unnecessarily hostile environment, especially during the busy holiday season. This post office desperately needs a dedicated drop-off area for prepaid packages. Forcing customers to wait in long lines for something so simple is inefficient and unacceptable. I'll be filing a formal complaint and hope management addresses these issues immediately.
