0 stars for passport services. Went to get one for a baby which requires both adults to be present. Picked business open hours for passport. First person tried to tell us they didn't do them because it was Friday...it was Tuesday. Then when we got up in line the only person on site that can do them was "on lunch" at 9am when the open passport hours are 9-10am. Two inconvenienced adults with a baby and they couldn't be bothered to take 2 min. When they are supposed to be open for that service. Never go to this location. Rude and lacks service. read more

I've never been treated like less than a human being in my entire life. They have the worst possible staff at any place of employment on earth. I will never step inside this building again for the rest of my life. They truly do not want to help you. It was an incredibly upsetting experience. read more

The Mail must get delivered, wind sleet and snow. I think that was once an expression that the USPS attained a highly valued position in the American commerce world. Yesterday I was informed that the mail delivery driver of the Middleton branch was unable to fulfill his delivery. The junk mail was safely delivered, and because I saw it being inserted and watched the little faux Jeep they drive continue to the next stop. A couple hours later I wandered out there and sorted the snail (escargot?) version of modern spam and relocated it to the recycling receptacle. In the evening I see a notification from USPS indicating that my anticipated and promised Amazon package wasn't able to be delivered because of some heinous impeding or treacherous hazard the worthless mail carrier was unable to traverse for unclear reasons. See photos. Both taken from single location, 180 degree views. They were taken when I saw that my package couldn't be delivered and I'd need to contact the nearby friendly Postal office to obtain my items. Which was very helpful when I made the visit this morning. But they informed me that the package wasn't there and perhaps today's carrier was risking life and limb to brave the elements in hopes of fulfilling the mission statement. read more

I can't really say if this is a 1 star "Me thinks not" or a 2 star so I've chosen the two star. Baby!!!!!! The line was ridiculous at 9am and then someone actually was holding a place in line for someone who stepped out, wrote a package cover, taped said package, browsed the items for sale on the stand, didn't pick out anything new, looked at the window adoringly, fiddled through her purse, then as I asked, "Excuse me sir. Are you waiting or moving ahead?" He said - he was waiting for the lady to come back to her place. This dude literally walked in with me and we both never saw her in line - what are you waiting for? She finally mosey'd on back in the line. REALLY!! I have to work so I politely turned around to use the automated machine. The machine said I only needed 1 stamp alas the wedding card was returned for failing to have 2 stamps. Argh! I'm Charlie Brown. To boot, the committee member never got the wedding card. I guess someone decided to take it as it was very pretty. Post offices are post offices - some seem to lack service but this "little town" mirage goes too far sometimes. read more

At 6:15 tonight, I planned to drop off xmas cards at the two large mail drops across from the Middleton Post Office. Both were so completely crammed full I could easily have grabbed a giant fistful of mail! Never have I seen a giant mail box completely full. Obviously, nobody made the scheduled pick up. What a horrendous security risk. read more

The counter clerk at this post office wanted me to pay $4 and some change for an inch of tape . . . We just relocated to Wisconsin from another State and had a prepaid package to mail. This small package/box needed an inch (at most) of tape to hold down the the lid of the box. This clerk told me I had to buy a $4+ tape because he "had no tape to give me". I was just shocked; my first experience with a Post Office in Wisconsin - not a good one! read more

Pretty standard. The line moves pretty fast, thanks in part to the clerks asking anyone standing in line with a package if they're just dropping it off. Nearly everyone with a box is doing exactly that so it gets them out of line because they can just drop it at the counter and peace out. There's a small selection of greeting cards, bubble mailers, boxes, and more for you to peruse before hopping in line, and like any post office location you can buy stamps at the counter. The available designs are displayed at each register so you don't have to ask what they have available. One woman did get a bit of lecture for showing up to her passport appointment late - they close the passport facilities earlier than the office itself, so make sure to give yourself time to arrive or you might be out of luck if they've already locked up that portion of the office for the day. read more

An important package was to be delivered to our home on January 12. When tracking the package, there was a notation that delivery couldn't be made because access couldn't be made, but that delivery would be made the next business day. I have now been waiting three days, and no delivery. I was able to get through their phone once, and the man who answered was of no help -- he couldn't locate the package. What kind of service is this? I have been trying to call again, several times, and they won't answer the phone. read more

EVERY time I've been here there has been a line(anywhere from 10 to 20+ people) and only ONE person working the counter. Parking outside is very limited, and often there is a queue.. I try to go after "peak" hours...but it's still ridiculous. Last time I was there, I felt bad for the woman behind the counter(who was really trying to do her best) because the line was literally out the door. Every person in line was pissy, and several people voiced their dissatisfaction. Bottom line: avoid at all costs. There HAS to be another Post Office in the Madison area that is better staffed. read more

Good news: they had 3 people working the counter today, so the line moved pretty quickly. Bad news: one of said employees has a major "Alpha Male" thing going on and was condescending to customers, loud and annoying. Avoid the middle-aged guy with the gray curly hair and glasses. In addition to being rude to customers, he roughly tossed a woman's Priority Mail package WITH FRUIT IN IT into the mailing bin when she wasn't looking. read more

My experience was fine. Lady was nice enough helping me mail some important documents express and there wasnt much of a line at 230pm when i was there. Standard post office but could see how if only one person was working it might take a while. read more

I wish someone could tell me where my mail is going. Today I received all of my neighbor's mail - different name, different house number, different street name. No sign of my mail. I was excited that for once the mail arrived before 6:30 pm and then realized it wasn't even mine. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard to take more care in delivering the mail and have standard hours in which it's delivered. One day last week I didn't receive any mail at all. This happens year round, not just during this busy season. And I wish the mail trucks would obey the speed limit and not cruise through a 25 mph zone at 45-50 mph. We don't have sidewalks here and it seems like the mail carriers just don't care about the neighborhood. read more

One star is over what they deserve. Only 2 supervisors. Both do not follow through. Terrible customer service. I had a package that was sent to my old address from years ago. Forwarding had expired. I was sent an email from the post office saying contact the post office for your package. 3 weeks, 8 phone calls and 2 emails saying the package was being redirected to my right address they sent it back to sender. Don't ever buy postage stamps by mail at the Middleton Post Office. I did and never received them. I called the post office and told them about it. They said they would get back to me. The next day they called and said the carrier put them in my box. I said they did not, I never received them. Then in so many words they called me a lier. So if you want to get ripped off order stamps by mail from the Middleton Post Office. read more

Disaster.Incredibly long lines any time, any day. Personnel simply walk off for their breaks right in front of long lines. Mistakes everywhere. Use the online site to print your own postage and have carrier pick up your packages or use UPS. One positive note:our carrier has never missed a package pick up right at our home. However, they held our mail AFTER we had cancelled a mail hold. Big problem. Just avoid the post office unless you really don't care about your mail arriving elsewhere safely or getting to you. read more

Long lines I agree. Very small parking lot, yes. Service is excellent. They helped me send an important and unusual package to Russia when I had no idea how. Customer service is five stars as they have kindly helped me every time despite the impatience of others in line. read more
