The driveway which is quite passable.

The Mail must get delivered, wind sleet and snow. I think that was once an expression that the USPS attained a highly valued position in the American commerce world. Yesterday I was informed that the mail delivery driver of the Middleton branch was unable to fulfill his delivery. The junk mail was safely delivered, and because I saw it being inserted and watched the little faux Jeep they drive continue to the next stop. A couple hours later I wandered out there and sorted the snail (escargot?) version of modern spam and relocated it to the recycling receptacle. In the evening I see a notification from USPS indicating that my anticipated and promised Amazon package wasn't able to be delivered because of some heinous impeding or treacherous hazard the worthless mail carrier was unable to traverse for unclear reasons. See photos. Both taken from single location, 180 degree views. They were taken when I saw that my package couldn't be delivered and I'd need to contact the nearby friendly Postal office to obtain my items. Which was very helpful when I made the visit this morning. But they informed me that the package wasn't there and perhaps today's carrier was risking life and limb to brave the elements in hopes of fulfilling the mission statement.

The line never dissipates but it went super fast today. The USPS reads Yelp?

No integrity in the work these people do. If you have an issue shipping or receiving you're SOL because they will NOT help you.

I lived on the west side for years and this used to be my go-to post office. After attending a…read moremeeting on the west side I dropped by to mail a package and was reminded that this is one of the most efficient locations with staff that's on the friendlier side. There's one guy in particular who is super friendly, will explain everything you need to know about pretty much anything, and has worked there for as long as I remember. Every post office needs one of him. Like pretty much every post office I've been in, it's older and a little worse for wear - it's a government entity that does retail (gift cards, envelopes, bubble mailers, etc.) and the emphasis is definitely on the government side of things. At least this location has a lot of windows/skylights so it's nice and bright inside. There is a self-service machine available in the lobby and there are drive-up mailboxes in the parking lot if you're just needing to drop off smaller, pre-stamped items.

She handed me back my birth certificate and never sent this with the passport . She kept asking me if this was my first passport she asked this question excessively approx 10 times . She said there was a problem with my marriage license not having my married name on it . Marriage licenses DO NOT have your married name because name changes are done AFTER you are married ( through social security card reissue which I had and she never asked to see). If passports are going to be required to vote in the future this is a very ineffective way to get one issued. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION for Passports !

Usually the few weeks before every election, city of Madison residents can vote early at the library. It's easy, convenient and if you aren't registered, you can even register to vote as well. Need some tax forms for your taxes this year, the library has that too. Need to look something up on the public computers, come on by and log in with your library card. Borrow books, CDs or DVDs all for free if returned by the due date. There is a section of rental books that charge $2 per day for a total of 14 days (usually for new and popular high demand books). Otherwise the library really has everything.

Staff are always friendly and polite and quick to help. I really love their selection of DVDs and CDs. I always forget the library has these offerings! They share a small parking lot with a few other businesses; so, parking can be a drag sometimes. All in all, I'm glad this is the library branch that is nearest my house!
