This store has very aggressively bureaucratic unfriendly systems. While in the store seeking notary service I was told I would have to go home, go online, make an appointment, then come back. I said it would be easier to make an appointment as long as I was there. No go. Apparently my printed image of the return code was to small, so they wouldn't send the package, eventhough the shipping number was on the printout. I called to ask and said we can't ship this way??? I returned with the package and a new printout, but after waiting in line 10 min, I use this crappy scanning device which works on the 13th time. Wonderful store!! Excellent customer service and very careful packing of a fragile item! I stopped in, in a hurry, on my way to the airport because I'd bought a beautiful hand-made drum on vacation in Wisconsin and was afraid that it wouldn't fit in the overhead compartment. I quickly explained the challenge left it with them to pack before I caught my flight. They checked me out quickly with minimal fuss. I just received the drum today -- when I opened the box, it was packed beautifully, better than I would have done myself. The person who packed it took the time to hand-cut cardboard shields to go on the top and bottom of the drum, and did lots of layers of bubble wrap etc so it arrived perfectly. Doesn't accept UPS Account numbers. IT'S A UPS STORE. I get that you're a franchise, but maybe you should look into covering the basics (like other UPS stores have) instead of telling customers, "you'll just have to go to a UPS distribution center, but they're all close for the weekend." I just want give praise to the young man at the counter working alone yesterday, Monday on Aug 15 at around 4 pm. He displayed unfailing professionalism and gave undeserved courtesy to a woman who was very rude and demeaning to him... Monday at that hour in the afternoon is very busy for a business like UPS when people are queuing up to drop off their packages to be shipped off on time. On top of that, the surrounding road construction and traffic does not make customers anymore patient... Myself and my fiancé unfortunately witnessed this woman's behavior towards the employee and were completely shocked. Honestly, if she had spoken one decibel higher with her words and attitude, most decent and civil people would have considered her a "Karen"... Please people, be kind, courteous and compassionate towards those who work hard to serve and assist you. We are all humans. Anyways, shout-out to that young man! read more

My UPS mission was pretty simple - drop off a pre-paid return package after failing to locate the UPS drop box on Midvale near Hilldale. The biggest annoyance was having to circle to get in and out of the parking lot as there's no direct way to get across University at that juncture. Once I finally was able to get to the strip mall where UPS is located I ran in and saw that they had a plastic laundry basket labeled for drop offs - it's one of the first things you see when you walk in the store, which is nice especially if they're busy. Someone sitting in the back of the store stood up when I came in to see if I needed anything in addition to dropping things off. I appreciated their being proactive instead of just waiting to see if I was going to ask for help. I usually use the post office for my shipping needs, but if I find myself needing a UPS I'd consider heading to this location since they seemed ready to help. read more

I have always had great service at this store. Even when they are really busy and there is a long line, they will wave you to the counter if you are just dropping off a package (already paid). Consistently friendly staff, too. That's a bonus! read more

Convenient location with helpful employees. Have worked with them before and it has always been good. Here today for their passport photo service. Were told before that their photos will meet the US State Department's passport photo requirements. Aargh! They did not, which we learned when they were rejected later that day at the passport acceptance center. (The photo dimensions were correct but the visible face sizing was not according to the passport counter clerk). So a trip back to UPS. I think the store really tried, so okay. But pro tip: UPS employee passport photo expertise here may wax and wane so try to check and measure the photo yourself as your technical expertise allows. I know that UPS expertise is often the reason we use passport services like theirs in the first place, particularly when they advertise it. But there it is. Still, a good store and worth patronizing. After re-routing my package to pick it up at the store to ensure I could receive it Monday (instead of missing the delivery at my apartment and having to wait another day) I still was unable to receive my package due to the lack of training of the only person working. I planned my trip to the store so that I could drop something off and pick up my package and not have to make two trips. I waited 15 minutes for the person in front of me to be helped only to be told that my package sitting in the counter ready to be picked-up could not be picked-up and that I would have to come back tomorrow. This was because the UPS worker did not know how to release the package to me (which only required a signature, from my previous experience with a similar order). If you're going to hire someone new, at least train them fully before letting them work alone. A little disappointed in the service here... read more

I've never reviewed a retail store before, but I had such an exceptional experience working with Jenny at the UPS store. She helped me figure out the best way to send a package to Italy (avoiding customs issues), gave me a discount, and then, when she forgot to give me my receipt, emailed it to me. Remarkably, the package was delivered to the address in Rome less than 48 hours after I dropped it off with her. Thank you Jenny for your exceptional service! read more

This lady at the counter was extremely rude to me- as soon as she saw me she changed her tone of voice, started insulting me by implying it would perhaps be too difficult for me to figure out how to affix labels, etc. she was demonstratively nice to other non-minority customers. Interesting... I will never use this store ever again. read more
