We need to get rid of the USPS completely and utterly. The amount of excuses I get for why they can't do things the way they used to do them anymore is pathetic! I can't get an estimate to ship an item even if I give a zip code and the weight of the item and the dimensions of the item. "You'll have to come in, ma'am, you'll have to come in." or "Go online." Every time I come to this post office I am met with some of the kindest people. I have lived many places, and I can't recall a post office where people are more friendly and helpful. I had a particularly stressful issue yesterday that involved password paperwork, and they immediately helped me and made me feel calm, and the package I sent out last night was already out for delivery this morning! This is just an incredible staff working here. Genuinely care about their residents and their mail and don't recommend you just wait longer when something goes missing. I'm a new resident to Marlborough and living in a Condo for the first time so 2 new experiences for me. That said, package deliveries can be a little more complicated than usual and there are only 2 parcel lockers on site. I had a package with tracking that showed "delivered" and "available for pickup" simultaneously. When the 800 number gave me the same information, I called the PO directly. I spoke with Rick who gave me a couple of scenarios. He asked if I checked the parcel locker just in case which i hadn't done because they both showed as vacant. A postal worker was dispatched to my condo and called me back at my work to confirm that the package was left in the parcel locker it just wasn't updated. Was not expecting this type of service but so appreciative that there are people out there willing to help out and turn my issue into theirs in order to get things accomplished. read more

Okay.. so everything in the original review remains true... but I heart Marlborough Post Office. Everyone inside the building is so helpful and nice (regular staff). Recently, for work, I sent out like 60 or so letters certified mail. They helped me label the envelopes and then patiently scanned each one (I was in the post office for like an hour). Out of this same group, a week later, I'm having issues tracking a handful of them. The post offices they went to have not posted updates (trackign just shows Marlborough rec'd them and that's it). So I called the Post Office main tracking number and then angrily (because you have to be angry with automated systems for them to listen to you - seriously) shouted "operator" until I got a person (who I did not use my angry voice with) who seemed like she was burdened by my phone call (insert various sighs etc). However, at my insistence she took down a bunch of information for me (tracking numbers etc). I believe nothing will come out of this phone call, but I am happy to say that a woman from the Marlborough Post Office was CC'd on my email and tried to help. In the end, it comes down to the fact that I'm going to have to call the other individual post offices who didn't bother to update information to find out where my letters are, but, it's nice to know Marlborough cares. read more

They have a regular staff here; and they are good about being fully staffed when it's busy. Usually, 3 at the counters during the morning and early afternoon. They aren't too friendly. Just doing their job kind of vibe. I'm pretty sure it's the same crowd of people that goes into the post office regularly. However, there's a lack of community love. Even the current postmaster at my complex don't even say anything unless I say something first. Must be depressing working for the post office!!! read more

Everyone that works the counter when you walk in, that I've ever had to deal with was very miserable and cold. A snail drenched in molasses could've moved faster than they could have gotten this line moving. Yet, the mailmen and women I've dealt with day to day on the street in person, are more friendly. Maybe it's something in the air ducts that makes them miserable, and they need fresh air, I'd imagine being cooped up in that place would drive any normal person insane. With all that being said, a lot has changed about the USPS, even delivery has changed! Packages and mails get there a lot quicker, when they said they would, you don't have to add an extra year to your waiting time! I'd advise you to not go inside, and if at any point you do...I wish you luck! read more

This was one of the best post office experiences I have ever had. I walked in with my box ready to go. The gentleman at the counter called me over as everyone else was trying to figure out what forms they needed. After the usual questions, he asked how I wanted it shipped and I said whatever was cheapest. He pointed out that priority mail for the package would be a third of the price of first class and it would arrive in 2 days. So we went with that. I also inquired about buying around 50 post card stamps, and asked about the anticipated price increase that they had been talking about. He told me that the decision to increase wasn't finalize and as long as I mailed the cards before the end of January I'd be fine even if they increased the price. Honestly I hate giving the post office 1 star but there customer service is lousy. They are rude and they talk down to you like a child and when you ask them for help its like your imposing on them. Some of the workers are nice but most of the time I just get someone who seems to hate their job and doesn't' really want to help at all. I went to change my address on line and where I work is also where I live. I live at a school address and they informed me that I couldn't change my address online casue it is a business address. So I went into the post office with a friend and casually brought up how I can't change my address and the guy behind the counter told me that I couldn't do it online but that I could do it in the office and on the written form. After I filled it out I realized I filled out a portion wrong and wanted to call and ask them to fix it. When I did the person on the phone was nothing but rude to me saying that he can't forward from a business address and that he wasn't going to do it. I told thats fine but when I went in to the post office the worker told me I could. WELL I'm telling you, you can't! WHAT A DICK! Its so frustrating to be talked to like a moron when I didn't do anything wrong. read more

Today I visited the post office on Florence street in Marlborough, Ma. I had a very small package with a self postage label. I ask the post office employee at the counter if she could tape it for me. She was very unfriendly and said I was supposed to have that all taped up myself. What has happened with people today? Would the five cents that that small amount of tape cost affect her in anyway? People used to be nice and more friendly and it was a better world to live. Yes, I drove across the street to Walgreens and purchased my four dollar roll of tape that I will have in the future, but it would have been so much nicer if she had taken the time to be human. read more

Mail delivery in Marlborough SUCKS. Mail delivery is perfect, however, if you want your mail delivered to other people's homes, and you enjoy getting other people's bank statements, and financial mail... the carriers are not able, somehow, to match streets and house numbers, to those printed on mail. read more

While the people working there are nice, and they always have a good size staff... they have now lost or misplaced FIVE of my incoming letters. I run a local business and accept payments to my P.O.Box, and now have THREE separate instances where clients have sent me payments but I never received them, and TWO other mailing that friends/family said they sent but we also never received. With regarss to my client payments, this looks REALLY bad when I have to call them and ask them to re-send money. That is the single worst thing a client wants to hear because they automatically assume I am lying. In these cases though, it was relatively easy for them to check their account and see that I never desposited those original payments, AND for these things I KNEW I was supposed to be receiving them. But the bigger issue is that what other mail is getting lost... things that I don't ever know are being sent to me????? I visited them numerous times to see if there was any way to track these mailings, and they told me no... which I don't beleive. They said I can mail something using certified mail. And explained to them that that has nothing to do with the problem!!!!! Am I supposed to tell all of my customers to send their mailings to me using certified mail??? How stupid is that?? And regardless... if the mail is lost, then what difference does it matter HOW it was sent? ALSO, I have now TWICE received mail to my box that was not mine... Just someone elses mail who rents a different box in the same post office. So this tells me that it is highly likely that the sorters in THIS POST OFFICE are mishandling the mail. Luckily I am a nioce person ans always bring the erroneous mail mack the desk to be resorted. But is highly likely that if my mail got put into someone else's box they would not bring it back to the Psoit Office. The whole thing sucks, and when I bring this to their attention, they make it seem like it's a fluke, and not to worry about it. Well I AM FURIOUS ABOUT IT. What should a customer do when you track your package and it is delivered to a mailbox? However, you live an apartment building inside the mailbox the only thing that fits are pieces of mail. This happend on January 23, 2015. I've been expecting a package which in contained Toy Story backpack for my five year grandson. i did a tracking on my pc and the replay was delievered to mailbox. I called the post office immediatly after picking up a piece of mail little after 4:30 PM and I explained my situation to the person on the other line . I wanted to know where was my package and what it meant to be delievered at the mailbox. When he tracked it down he told me it was left in the mailbox. I already had picked one piece of mail in my the mailbox the only thing it fit are mail. Second, he said it was left at the main office. I told him that the main office has a strict policy of not receiving packages for tenants. Third, he told it was left at my door or in the first floor. I told him for the carrier to be able to leave it at my door he need to be buzz in and if he left at the foyer I came throught it and there was no package. I scatter each floor and look inside the laudry room in the basement. I went to each door of my neighbors and asked. After, he ask for my name and phone number, because he wasn't able to provide with the help any answered to my questions. January 24, 2015 I call back this time I spoke to Rick ,of course he was no different from the first one I spoke the day before. Once more i gave the same information because either they lost my information or they really don't care. however, Rick suggested that maybe one of my neighbors walked away with my package. He didn't ackwoledge or took responsibility for his post carrier that maybe he delivered to a different building or lost it, or kept to himself. He may have logged it on the system delievered to cover his butt...... That same day after speaking with Rick I created a formal complaint on the site of USPS, and for my surprise Rick is Richard Walker the supervisor of our local postal office. January 26, 2015 very polity he send me an email that the investigation was done and over. Due to the fact, that his post carrier delivered the package to my door. My question is way would I have bother to calling them twice and creating a formal complain, if the package was delivered. Or it could have been the seller it's from ebay and the company name is fantasyshopgift.com the post carrier thoguht it was something worth keeping it I wonder. I trusted the employee of the post office but with this unpleasant expereince any longer. I will have to use a different carrier or use another post office not the local one. If you have a very valuable package do not ship it at this post office.. i just lost a item that i sold on eBay.. and guess what?? i lost $70 bucks because i had to refund the money to the buyer..The lady the was there when i went there to complain about was very rude..and just told me : " the package is not here. the computer is not showing anything... The lady doing passports on Saturdays is a complete b*tch. I needed to get our 5 month old daughter a passport for our trip to Aruba and since both my wife and I work we could only really go on a Saturday morning. I called the Marlborough PO on a Friday afternoon and asked for the hours and where to get a picture taken. The guy on the phone was actually helpful - he told us that getting a baby photo is difficult and that AAA is pretty good at it, and also its free if you are a member (I am). He also said that it gets busy on Saturdays for passports so get there 15 minutes before they start. So Friday evening we got the photo done at AAA, no problem. On Saturday, I forget if it was 8 or 9 AM but we got there 15 minutes early and were the 3rd group in line. The lady immediately yelled at us and said she did not have time for passports today and was angry that we did not see the sign on the door (there was a very small sign on 8X11 paper taped by where the PO boxes are that they could not do passports because they were so short-staffed that day) Neither I nor my wife saw the sign. This lady was very rude from the get go. The worst part was that she said she would take the 2 families before us and told us to go home...even though we got there 15 minutes before it was even supposed to start! I was in complete shock, I honestly thought I was on candid camera or Punk'd. It was such horrible customer service that I could not even believe what was happening. My next door neighbor is a postman in Marlbough and he told me to report it, but I never did. I just won't go there anymore. He told us to try Berlin, and while it was a good 15 minute ride, we were in and out in 20 minutes. Luckily someone at my work picks up and drops off the mail everyday, but if I ever have to go to the PO in person I will go to Berlin for sure. read more
