Their shipping was also half the price of USPS for delivery on Wednesday. Two stars because I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he recently started and doesn't know what he is doing yet/wasn't trained well.

I lived on the west side for years and this used to be my go-to post office. After attending a…read moremeeting on the west side I dropped by to mail a package and was reminded that this is one of the most efficient locations with staff that's on the friendlier side. There's one guy in particular who is super friendly, will explain everything you need to know about pretty much anything, and has worked there for as long as I remember. Every post office needs one of him. Like pretty much every post office I've been in, it's older and a little worse for wear - it's a government entity that does retail (gift cards, envelopes, bubble mailers, etc.) and the emphasis is definitely on the government side of things. At least this location has a lot of windows/skylights so it's nice and bright inside. There is a self-service machine available in the lobby and there are drive-up mailboxes in the parking lot if you're just needing to drop off smaller, pre-stamped items.

She handed me back my birth certificate and never sent this with the passport . She kept asking me if this was my first passport she asked this question excessively approx 10 times . She said there was a problem with my marriage license not having my married name on it . Marriage licenses DO NOT have your married name because name changes are done AFTER you are married ( through social security card reissue which I had and she never asked to see). If passports are going to be required to vote in the future this is a very ineffective way to get one issued. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION for Passports !

But they are usually understaffed at the end of the day, when I come so I make sure to bring patience with me. The building itself has a tricky parking lot (one way) that enters from the side street not the front street. More than once I have pulled in thinking there was a spot, only to see it's the lined off section of the disabled parking space. The lines could be re-done so they were easier to see from the street. The building itself is easy to get into for an older building. The machine in the lobby for stamps and weighing packages for self service is easy to use. I'm glad this is my neighborhood postal office.

They also wrongly charged my media mail materials. I was charged additional 200 dollars for my books, telling me there were children's books in both of my boxes. Saw mail driver do this and went outside and asked why this was. It was explained to me that they don't have to put packages on the porch, as I stood in the pouring rain with my package outside on the ground, in front of my garage door!!!!!
