It is sad to read so many bad reviews; this USPS location is a blessing to the community. Yes, they might not be readily responsive to redelivery requests, but at the very least you know your packages are safe and not mishandled like it happens with FedEx. The package will stay at the location until redelivery, or you can pickup yourself. I love that they respect their hours of operation. When it says that it opens at 8 am, you can rest assured the office is indeed open at 8 am sharp; not 8.15 am, not 8.30 am, not 10 am. You will never be late for work. I also appreciate that they do not drop off if there is no safe location to leave the package. We need to be appreciative that Jackson Hill has a USPS office, instead of having to take a hike to a farther location. Also this office is clean, and service is fast. read more

Priority mail package shows "delayed" in on;lone system, already 4 days late. Finally, tracking system shows "redeivery unavailable, pick up at post office". Well, this Post Office is horrible, long lines, and slow service, and oftentimes they cannot find items and tell you to come back. Generally they only have one person at the window. I was given a phone number to call, and of course, no answer after trying multiple times. I will never go to this location, especially around the end of the month where many people are buying money orders, making the waits impossibly long. read more

Ghetto! Oh my goodness. If you're not from this neighborhood then you're in for a surprise. They have bullet proof windows, which I've never seen at any usps except this location. You have to put your package or parcel in this bullet proof sliding window and lock it before the workers could receive it on their end.. I definitely didn't feel safe here. I send out a package on 01/26/2026 this package is a certified Mail and was delivered in the evening were the business was closed they say they're going to redeliver the next day it pass 3 days and still not there going on 15 days the package has not been delivered. Manager at that location needs to be fired he is not keeping up or keeping track with his staff very important documents in this package are they stealing packages. Poor terrible service. Next time I'll use a fax they need to closed this facility down or get rid of management they don't know what they are doing. It's incredible how this once proud and reliable service has degraded so much. The postal "person" who delivers to our office(Besides the fact that she was horrible at her job. ALWAYS on her cell phone. I won't even mention the illegal moves she was making DAILY when leaving our building by turning the wrong way on a one way street) was moved to a different route. There was no other carrier assigned to the route. They just didn't bother delivering our mail until we complained about it. It's been a week since our mail was delivered. Consistently one of the worse USPS locations out of my experience of any USPS locations in NJ. It's funny cause its right in front of a police station and centrally located but they always have one person working the window and it's a shame they know how bad they are and are willing to do nothing to change. Even if they had five employees on the shift only two will help customers. Come here if you like wasting your time or very long lines. The only good reason you should have to visit this location is if you have to pick up something have no other option. Normally they have two clerks at best helping with pickups and day-to-day transactions (even when more agents are visibly there they won't help the clerks of it gets busy). On average they take about 10-15 minutes to process each customer, even for simple pick ups! The line regularly extends from the customer service desk to the door, and an average wait time is normally around 30 minutes at least. The one saving grace is the reps are nice, indifferent about the wait times and achingly slow, but nice. If you have another choice in post offices, choose another. read more

This is by far the WORST place. . All i want is my package but no, instead all i get from the nasty lady who answered the phone with, "hello, whadda you need!" I had to confirm that i had reached the post office. Then, i tell them that im calling about a package that someone lied about "doortag" and that i want my package. I explained that im disabled and cant drive and i was promised it would be redelivered monday, then tuesday and then again today. She tells me they only have 1 redelivery day which was monday and "she's sorry that it wasnt delivered monday." I tell her that i need this package. I haven't had the best experiences in the past but lately it has been better. Where I live, there's no secure location for packages so I appreciate them keeping my things safe. I went there 8 in the morning and the line was almost to the door. At first I'm like eh almost 20 people shouldn't be THAT bad, it's only 8..........I was on that line for almost 3 hours! Mind you, people were getting off the line because they had to go to work, was on break or it was simply taking too long. When I finally get to the front, the woman behind the counter said I can't get my package. Even though I had the email with the tracking number, I needed a hard copy of my address with my name and/or ID to prove it was my package. I recently moved so I get it, but it's 2017 USPS! For a variety of bogus reasons USPS always say my packages were "ATTEMPTED" to be delivered or "UNDELIVERABLE" even though I never see them step foot on my doorstep from my security camera unless these people are equipped with invisible cloaking devices or have the power of invisibility. There are 3 windows and they were not manned the majority of the time. This place needs a new Manager/Supervisor and start firing employees who don't want to work. The 3 windows should always be manned. This is a poor community section in Jersey City, most of the people do not have checking accounts and come here to get money orders. This post office is ridiculously a mess! I had a packaged delivered a week ago, they didnt leave it by my door...mailman never picked up the redelivery note i taped by the mailbox and he or she cannot miss it! I got home the note is still there! I called usps to redelivery gave me a confirmation jumber for redelivery on a thursday.i stayed home and not a ring on my doorbell no package redelivered. I call usps thursday night theyvsaid this post office didnt even check the email nor processes my redelivery. Today end of the week i call this post office finally after 7 times calling w no answer somebody picked up my package is still in their office and mailman or usps guy are all gone! My boyfriend ordered a package and expected delivery January 4, 2019. The package was marked delivered.....you think we got it? NO. This post office continuously has problems delivering to this block. When we went to the post office to speak to a rep, the mail carrier had informed us that he "delivered our package to another mailbox because it was dark at the time of his delivery and he could not make out the numbers on the package." This was our THIRD trip to this location within two days to find the same package. He then asked us to ask our neighbors could they check their mailboxes. This is the saddest excuse for mail service. What if that was my insulin? Or my son's epi pen?? Ridiculous. Poor service. Terrible customer service. Inefficient deliveries. The mail carrier Patel....pitiful.
