Im shocked at the negative reviews here. This place is great! Its small with only 1pr staff members working at a time. They do require you to purchase tape, a box, envelope etc ( which is to be expected ). They also empower the customer to do things on there own. Example: properly place your items in the box and tape it up. Some people are helpless and act like they cant do it...these employees are not here to "baby" you. Its apart of growing up and being courteous. Ive witnessed people being so rude to these employees and its just gross. You are an adult now doing adult things. This location is great. I always have a pleasant experience here, but today's service was truly above and beyond. I was helped by Jas, who greeted me as I walked in while he was tidying up the packing stations during a quiet moment. He immediately offered to assist me in finding the best-sized and most cost-effective box for my shipment. As I began packing, he briefly helped a few other customers, and when the line cleared again, he came right back to assist me--especially when it became clear I was struggling to keep the box shut and tape it properly! A lot of people walk into that store a bit lost (I saw a few today--and was definitely one of them), but Jas was consistently kind, patient, and helpful with everyone. I left with tears of gratitude. His generosity and care turned a my errand (sending a package filled with gifts telling my dad and grandma they're going to be grandparents!) into an even more meaningful experience. Very convenient; plenty of free parking. In the UCI Campus shopping/business center so it is super easy to get multiple things done here. The Post Office is small but full service. Packing materials, greeting cards, etc for sale at reasonable prices. (There is a Target next door if you want to compare.) Every employee that I've met is gracious and upbeat - I sense good morale at this location. If you're a stamp collector; I've found this location to have a better variety. read more

Not sure why the negative reviews for this place. A lot of the common complaints are "they charge you for tape". No shit, that's every US Post office you go to. You want cheap transport for whatever you're shipping? That's why you came to USPS and not UPS/FedEx. Now get over yourself. The folks here are friendly and merchandise is clearly marked and prices are visible. Security is good here, there are cameras everywhere. They take credit cards here and they'll try to sell you stamps because that's just part of USPS directive. Plenty of parking outside, and there is a bridge that you can walk across if you're coming from UC Irvine which is literally across the street. And yes, bring your tape. Now shut up. read more

I can't blame the way this post office is architecturally set up but I can comment on the workers. It's no secret that post office workers are literally the worst. They all seem to hate their jobs and lives so so much even though all they're doing is simple customer service with a few extra rules. I've had experience with three workers here, two of whom suuuuucked but the third actually didn't treat me like the scum of the earth. DIAMOND--I hope you get fired. You are literally the absolute WORST person to be working in a customer service role. If you hate people and your job so much, get another one please. She was the only clerk working with a long line, which I get. But she was literally yelling at every customer. She got angry with one girl who was packing her package wrong. She said to her in front of all the customers in line: "Lady, what are you doing?" And proceeded to throw some tape at her. Zero respect for others. Another lady was shipping nearly 10 envelopes and diamond told her she could only process five of them and to go to the back of the line to do another five. Filipino man I don't know the name of--also rude and yelling at people in his loud Filipino voice. Older white or Hispanic lady with short hair--she was actually nice! I have been frequenting this location since 2014. I have never had any problem with their services. Since I often mail items to Chinese-speaking countries, all the employees were very helpful in making sure that I got the best price, and that items were sent to expected locations. One woman who worked there was from Taiwan. She was extremely helpful in making sure I got all the details right (bilingual addresses, etc.) to make sure that the item would arrive in a timely manner. The tape policy can be a bit of a problem, but it does not take much effort to bring your own time. Since this is the closest post office in the university area, it tends to get packed during lunch time/afternoon. Still, a very solid post office. read more

Ridiculous that this store doesn't work the same as others and refuses to provide a receipt for drop off scans. On multiple occasions I have received receipt for drop off scan at this location and EVERY other location provides every time. I don't understand why it effects them wether or not they provide me a receipt to show the date and time it was dropped off. If the package is not handled properly by the person I have given it to, I have no proof that I came in and gave it to them. This seems absolutely unnecessary and I'm obviously not the only one that has been effected by this*policy* I have left the rating at 3 stars because on more Han one occasion the gentleman who works this store has helped answer questions and solve problems in an effective manner. read more

I just wanted a receipt for the package I was dropping off and the guy wouldn't give me one and tried to explain to me how a tracking number works. really just wanted the receipt because I've been to the usps before and know how incompetent they are and wanted to make sure that my package would get scanned in correctly so I could get proof that I dropped it off. read more

If I could give 0 starts I definitely would. The employees have the worst attitude everyday and act like they are forced to be there working. USPS needs to fire these employees immediately. One worker (the man) tried to scold me on not covering a sticker on my envelope that stated the packages weight (had no names or barcodes and was almost covered by the flap) and told me to "pay attention next time." After telling him it was my first time being told, he went on saying he always had to cover the stickers for others and that again to follow directions. I understand, but a simple "don't forget next time you need to take an extra stickers need to be off" would have done it. I've also seen all 3 employees be very rude to other customers. Got here around 4:20 so totally understandable that they are in a rush but the male (Jas) working the front lobby was so rude. I asked for tape to close my box because I ship things rather frequently, I know usps has tape I can use when I forget mine. However, instead of pointing out the tape, he pointed at the display and very rudely told me if I wanted tape I'd have to buy it and that they were closing soon anyways so I shouldn't have come. I'm not sure if this is normal for this location BUT I dropped off some packages for my customers and the woman at the counter (older woman) told me that they don't scan or give a receipt which was ODD! That's the first time I've ever heard that! That's very sketchy to me. read more

I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to sending stuff. I just asked the lady who was working scanned my QR code to return a package. They gave me a box since I had priority shipping. Packaged everything myself, no tape needed. The box had pre applied glue on the inside flaps. Pretty simple and easy. read more

First to review? For a high traffic post office, I'm surprised I'm the first the review. I've shipped a couple packages out of this location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are pretty good and the location is clean. Some post offices will make you buy tape if you need it, but they're generous enough here to let you borrow theirs. The downside to this location is it's closed on Saturdays. Overall, happy with this place! About my credentials: I'm on a first name basis with the woman that works at the US Post Office. She's been taking care of my package for the past 10 years. I've been buying and selling stuff on Ebay before Craigslist ever existed. So yes, I've had a lot of experience shipping things. read more

Okay. I was GOING to give the place at least 3 stars because the service IS decently fast, its just there's only 3 possible open stations...and most of the time its just 1. So if you run into someone who is very troublesome, you're gonna spend a lot of time waiting. That's not something to complain about if you're just walking in at the wrong time. What made me change my mind to rate this place as a one star, is because I've been sending a lot of packages, first class and media mail, but the lady told me that Media Mail takes 7-10 days regardless of how far the trip is. WHICH IS B.S. because my big packages made it across the country in 3-4 days....despite all the hurricanes/flooding, despite the long weekends...etc..This package was just going 40 miles away so I really don't see whats the hold up. So she told me to do first class instead because it'll get there in 3-4 days. Well, this receipt says it'll arrive in 1 day, so either they're trying to rip me off or they really gave me the wrong info. I even did my research online regarding the delivery dates before going. ANOTHER thing I must complain...I'm not sure if this happens anywhere else in the US but where I'm from, all 4 post offices I've been to do the work FOR YOU. THIS POST OFFICE made me stand on the side to fill out my own confirmation receipt. And on top of it, she said I filled it out wrong. Well, I just did what we used to do up in the North. I'm sorry if you guys like to do extra work. Besides, its only my receipt and if I think what I wrote is fine, why correct it? You know, I'm glad that she gave me helpful suggestions, but she was just plain wrong about them. Plus I really don't appreciate having to stand back in line JUST because I had to write 2 words on a confirmation slip. I would give this establishment one star for location, and a second star for but one person that dealt with my transactions. Other than that, overall customer service was very rude and sassy. My notable experience involves my desire to ensure a letter to be sent. I was sassily told that insurance on letters are not possible. Even if these are the current rules of postal service, a reasonable and calm explanation would have sufficed. Rather than a half-assed explanation while avoiding all eye contact like I wasn't worth the two seconds of the day it took to tell me it wasn't possible. Additionally, let me mention that as I prepared my letter, there was a very clear sign in front of me stating instance for letters AND packages were possible and feasible options. Perhaps the workers could learn a thing or two about customer service, and an update on their 'informative' signs would probably help too. read more

It's a rather small post office, but it's adequate if you're able to get there when there aren't too many people wanting to mail stuff. During Christmas time, you might want to go elsewhere as there's pretty much only 2 employees working at the counter. You really can't fit anymore employees as it's a really small room. I recently came here to mail in my passport renewal. The guy that helped me was pretty helpful and quick, but he had difficulty charging my credit card with the remote device. He eventually had to cancel the original postage which he ripped off of the envelope and printed out a new one on the desktop computer. I work for a local business that requires me to visit the Post Office every single day. I got off to an extremely rocky start with this Post Office as the clerks were misinformed about the services they were required to perform. After filing numerous complaints with USPS regional management I am happy to say that this Post Office has done a complete 180!! The clerks are all very pleasant and efficient with my requests and I have had absolutely no problems in almost a year. 1 star off because of just how much trouble they caused me in the beginning but I'm happy things have turned around. They need to staff this post office. It's 12:30 on a Monday and there's one poor clerk with a huge line. AC wouldn't be bad either. An easy close door might prevent it from slamming every time someone comes in or leaves. Standing in line for 30 minutes= a lot of slams. What time is the cut off for express mail? Five stars purely on the fact that a postal worker named Cynthia was very nice today. My experience with most post offices are that the workers seem quite tired and fed up with customers not understanding how things work. But today, Cynthia was very patient. I saw that she helped a deaf customer with care even though it seemed they were having trouble communicating without sign language. I was in line after this customer and I didn't mind waiting as things were figured out. I hope to see Cynthia more often when I mail things out! read more

I come to this location quite often since I'm on campus weekdays, and to be quite honest, its not too bad. They open very early compared to other post offices. I've never had a problem with the workers. I just go there to ship things and there's no hassle except sometimes waiting in line for a while. I can see why people may think the post office workers may be rude, their expressions may not be the happiest most times, but... they get VERY busy ESPECIALLY because their location is on a campus with tons of people needing to ship things every day. Their office is also quite small, so there will only be at most 3 people working (2 at the counter and 1 outside), but usually its just 1-2 at the counter. So, yeah I just go there to ship... It's pretty much the same experience I have with most other USPS locations. I only gave this a star off because shipping here can be slow sometimes. read more

Friendly staff. Whenever I have been there, the lines aren't that big. And I get pretty good service from Cindy and the staff there. Go there after lunch time and before closing to avoid the rush. Some customers suck up a lot of time because they aren't ready and just have too many questions. What can the postal employees do?
