The building looks like a historic building and when you walk into the lobby its like your going back in time. The old tile work is cool and neat to see the old mailboxes. I went about 10am and they had no line, I was able to get in and out. Lots of free parking around the building. They have free USPS shipping boxes and they sell tape and other size boxes if you need them.. The clerks were very professional and polite. Glad I found this spot and I would certainly return if I have to mail something again.

I don't feel like I am bothering her with my questions so I have learned a few things. Like, the boxes provided at the post offices are designed to be handled by machine so the rate is cheaper. If you bring your own box it has to be hand stamped and hand carried so the rate is higher. Also, the boxes are self stick so no use for tape. * I have seen her be most courteous to some really rude people. Her service was the same for every person in her line. I have worked retail and I know how difficult it is to be nice to someone when they are demanding, rude & obnoxious. She handles it like a pro.

Today I got scolded for not affixing my certified mail receipts to the envelope. I told the clerk after having the cops called on me in McKinleyville, I'm scared to death to make a mistake. I've never had anyone complain about having to affix the certified mail receipts before. Isn't that part of the job? ‍ He tried to make it sound like it was policy but I'm not seeing any evidence of that. These customer facing employees seriously need to get over themselves. They offer a lot of things, including shipping, of course, you can have items copied, printed, faxed, they have a notary, you can rent a mailbox, etc.... I've never had a problem with Amazon returns. Under most situations, all you have to do is come in have your Amazon return code scanned, and just hand them the item. It's a rare situation where Amazon makes you pack the item yourself to return it. Packing and shipping prices are reasonable, and they also offer a military discount. Thanks for the help.

I used to go to the other location on Harris near E Street in Eureka and would donate my peanuts…read morefor their packing, maybe mailing an item on occasion with no outlandish costs. This time I went to this new location at 307 West Harris (Harris & Summer), only to encounter a very rude woman, too busy to greet people by standing up. From her computer 6 feet away, she ordered me to fill out a form, when I only need to price a box for mailing the following week. Apparently upset that I did not want to fill out a form, this rude blond-haired woman begrudgingly checked the weight and measurements and quoted me $80!!! I kid you not. This was a lightweight box with a jar of honey and a lightweight honey pot, with foam and paper to protect against breakage. Two minutes earlier I got a quote of $19.60 from Henderson Post Office, to get there in 5 days. After this rude outlandish experience, I went to the UPS and Fed Ex places up the road. One is next to BevMo near Eureka Natural Foods and the other is across from Costco in Eureka. One quoted me 29.99 for 5 day and the other quoted me 31.00 for 5 day ground, so $50 less than this rip off place, and only $10 more than the USPS. The USPS is $60 less than this rip-off place. All the other places have excellent customer service after years of dealing with them all. Save your hard-earned money and maintain your peace of mind and go anywhere but here. This is a business trying to bilk people during financially challenging times, and I hope you spread the word to never go here.
