The building looks like a historic building and when you walk into the lobby its like your going back in time. The old tile work is cool and neat to see the old mailboxes. I went about 10am and they had no line, I was able to get in and out. Lots of free parking around the building. They have free USPS shipping boxes and they sell tape and other size boxes if you need them.. The clerks were very professional and polite. Glad I found this spot and I would certainly return if I have to mail something again.

I don't feel like I am bothering her with my questions so I have learned a few things. Like, the boxes provided at the post offices are designed to be handled by machine so the rate is cheaper. If you bring your own box it has to be hand stamped and hand carried so the rate is higher. Also, the boxes are self stick so no use for tape. * I have seen her be most courteous to some really rude people. Her service was the same for every person in her line. I have worked retail and I know how difficult it is to be nice to someone when they are demanding, rude & obnoxious. She handles it like a pro.

I highly appreciate that this post office offers services such as passport photos, money orders (cheaper than my bank), greeting cards along with gift cards, boxes, tape, bubble wrap in a small/medium/ large sized packet, a packet of envelopes, PO Boxes, and stamps behind the counter. Today I got scolded for not affixing my certified mail receipts to the envelope. I told the clerk after having the cops called on me in McKinleyville, I'm scared to death to make a mistake. I've never had anyone complain about having to affix the certified mail receipts before. Isn't that part of the job? ‍ He tried to make it sound like it was policy but I'm not seeing any evidence of that. These customer facing employees seriously need to get over themselves. It was a real come down after such a great experience at Post Haste. These two post offices are in desperate need of training. But, I won't hold my breath. The customer service was disappointing from start to finish. One employee in particular had such a loud, shouting voice that it was difficult to carry on a conversation with the person assisting me. Overall, the experience was frustrating. The customer service leaves much to be desired, and they appear to charge extra for nearly every small service. Based on my experience, I will not return and cannot recommend them to others.
