In their response they said I was welcome to leave, go buy a box somewhere else, pack it and return and offered a 5% discount on future business. Called and requested status and was told they couldn't get ahold of dispatch because it was after hours so they will check tomorrow and call me. How do you receive the shipment over the weekend and four days later not communicate with the customer? Awful service. I feel sorry for anyone who has a shipment through this carrier. UPDATE: Treadmill was delivered the next evening after being told in the morning it would be another 24-48 business hours to process everything. No phone call to schedule the 4-hour delivery window, no required signature (I was supposed to sign for it). Just dropped it off at the side of the driveway, partially on the lawn. I'm reasonably strong and it took three people to drag it into the garage - where I would have asked them to set it had they actually scheduled the delivery as they were supposed to. They made no attempt to knock on the door to see if anyone was home (we were) and sent a text saying they delivered it long after they left. Dispatch was apologetic and owned the mistake, but that really isn't the point. Common sense didn't prevail. If you get a tracking number for this company, say a prayer.

1 STAR -- Extremely poor experience with EFW…read more If I could give EFW zero stars, I would. From the delivery delays to the lack of customer service and ultimately receiving a defective treadmill, this was an extremely frustrating experience. My treadmill was with EFW for over 7 days without anyone contacting me to schedule delivery. I repeatedly tried to get answers and only got movement after I complained to the original retailer, who contacted EFW on my behalf. I was told EFW was simply very busy. My scheduled delivery window was 1:00-5:00 PM. Nobody contacted me during that window. Then, at 7:02 PM, I finally received a call saying they were running late and asking if I still wanted the delivery. I agreed, and they eventually arrived around 9:00 PM. During assembly, the technician asked me to sign an agreement on his phone. I wanted to read the entire agreement first, but he would not allow me to properly review it and became angry when I attempted to navigate back to the agreement. I signed simply to avoid escalating the situation. The worst part came the next day. The treadmill was used for the first time, and it immediately began making an extremely loud screaming noise. I reported the problem and am now waiting to find out when a replacement will arrive. The entire delivery process took close to 25 days, despite an advertised delivery time of 6-10 days. The lack of communication and inability to reach a live customer-service representative made an already bad situation even worse. Customers should not have to repeatedly chase a company for basic information about an expensive purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend EFW. I hope they seriously improve their customer-service communication, delivery scheduling, and overall handling of customers.

Unfortunately, the free notary service at my banks only notarize bank related documents. After calling around I found that both AAA and The UPS Store offer public notary services for $5 per "stamp". I chose the latter because 1) no appointment would be required, 2) its location is more convenient for me to piggyback with other errands. The staff were all wearing masks; however, there's no hand sanitizers anywhere. After a short wait I was quickly served. Nothing wrong with this but I was a bit surprised to learn that the cashier herself is the public notary. Everything went through as expected until when she rang me up. "That'll be $9," she said. I was confused. I asked if it was because it was a deed so it cost more. She said there were the $2 clerical fee and the $2 witness fee. Talk about hidden fees! Needless to say, I wasn't happy. $2 clerical fee for ringing up, and $2 for another cashier's autograph?! I called and confirmed: AAA on Trindle Road costs $5, period, no gimmicks, no hidden charges like this one. The only drawback is you would have to make an appointment. With the bad aftertaste, I won't be back -- unless I'm in a hurry.
