Stopped by today to return an Amazon package. Michelle was friendly and it was the first good encounter I've had recently. She told me about their new return policy being that the boxes need to be taped up or it would be a $2 fee. She was very polite and kind about it. She also let me know their store has a $5 minimum so make sure you tape up your packages before returning them. This store in the past has not been my favorite and I honestly stopped going there for a while, but after such a good interaction with Michelle today I will definitely be going back. I want to apologize for my prior review. I now realize I was just angry. I know it is hard to find good help and the store manager there is doing her best. She is always calm, efficient, professional, and friendly, to spite the lines, and impatient people, like me. I have just rearranged my schedule and go in the mornings now and never have to wait. The same girl is always there, all by herself, and is always nothing but great. I checked the website before driving to the Lemoyne, PA store for the store hours. The website says the store is open on Mondays at 8 am. I was there at 8:04 am and looked at door. the sign on the door says open at 8 am on Mondays. chain fence down and no one there. VERY poor service. Could not complete a transaction on Saturday afternoon, but promised to process it and confirm it on Monday morning. When I heard nothing by Monday afternoon, I drove back to the store, where the manager told me "it was a busy morning, and I didn't get to it. I waited while she processed the Amazon returns of another customer, then when she finally processed my item it was done in seconds. No explanation, no apology. I've been here three times, and thought the customer service was poor each time. I came here for one simple task. I needed a box. I let the employee know the dimensions & what I was looking for. I was looking for something, LIKE, the size of an express box. I was brought an express box. Initially, she said it was free, since it's an express box. Yet, I was charged almost $5 for this free box. In fact, when I looked on the receipt, I was charged for something called a bubble mailer, which is not the express box at all. It was never made clear what the situation was regarding this "free" box. Furthermore, before I checked out, I asked if the box has to be sent as express. She said no. As soon as I walked out the door, I looked at the box, and it said very clearly what UPS services it can't be used for. I walked right back in and returned it my free box that I paid $5 for. I exchanged the box for a different one. I could have walked out without paying the difference, but I didn't, for two reasons. I didn't trust her, and also, I have integrity. The blonde woman in charge of notaries refused to notarize a color photocopy of my passport (that I needed apostilled the Pennsylvania Secretary of State) by falsely telling me it's illegal in the state of Pennsylvania to have a color copy of my passport. All you have to do is a quick Google search or ask any appropriate government office to know that every US state allows color photocopies of passports becuase foreign governments (and the Pennsylvania Secretary of State requires it). The woman in the store this around noon was so rude and spoke like a robot to me simply repeating the same words she kept saying over and over again, and not really clarifying. I recall having a bad experiences previously and clearly nothing has changed as I haven't been back in at least a year. I don't know how she still has a job if she talks to everyone this way ...with this many unemployed people, and the low reviews here on yelp that management puts up with these people. I was asked to notarize and overnight some documentation on short notice so I was perplexed on where to go. When I googled notary info in Harrisburg, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the UPS Store can provide all the services I was looking for. This location was very convenient for me and the gentleman who runs this store made this a quick and efficient process for me. The notary service was $8 for one signature and the UPS overnight was whatever the standard fee is for a letter. In addition, you get a small discount for being a AAA member and it is well posted at the counter. read more

The lady Michelle that works here is the lowest bar a business would want to set. She's rude, unprofessional, condescending and impolite. She has no business being in CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Being unfamiliar with the process, I relied on the lady here to help me. You would have thought I was asking her to come up with a new theory for relativity. She had a magical way of making me feel like an idiot for asking how this works. If you can't treat customers with at least some degree of kindness, maybe you're in the wrong line of work. April 15 I went to this store. I wire a mask and gloves. The person working didn't have a mask, did not clean the virtual pen that I had to use to pay by credit card and her young son was in the store without a mask. Even worse, another customer entered the store after me and didn't practice social distancing, was not wearing a mask and was rude when I asked her to move back. Soon after, another customer entered with no mask and was also not practicing social distancing. The store owners are ignorant or worse and must not think Covid19 social distancing applies to them or their customers. I will not patronize this store again. Just got done this UPS store, and it gets 3 stars based on the customer service and lack of time it took me to get in and get out with a large package to ship. It loses 2 stars on the fact that there was not a single mask in sight, no cleaning of surfaces between customer use, no limiting people. I've been coming to this UPS store 3-5 days per week for over a year now and have nothing but great things to say! I have a clothing rental subscription and am worried about my packages getting stolen from my doorstep in Harrisburg so I have everything delivered here. Staff don't even have to ask my name and make picking up and checking out extremely easy. Not only do staff make picking up my packages easy, they're all so friendly and never make you feel like you're putting them out-- even when I'm there the minute they open or right before closing. Sadly, while I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about the USPS, I have nothing but GREAT experiences with this store and it's staff. I should also say I shop A LOT online - almost exclusively - and I am in this store nearly every single week. I have ALWAYS received EXCELLENT customer service AND in a swift, yet friendly way. The staff cares about their work and their customers and it shows. While many VENDORS screw up their orders and tracking (I'm looking at YOU, AMAZON) the staff at this store ALWAYS watches out for me and can always cut through the convoluted and just-plain-wrong info that sometimes (and lately OFTEN) can accompany the shipment. They always have my package and are able to swiftly and accurately retrieve it. Bottom Line: these are experienced, kind, and caring professionals and this will always be my mail order repository of choice. I hadn't planned on reviewing a UPS store today, but here I am, spending some time to do so. I'm doing so because they deserve my time to express some kind words. The gal working ( Michelle ) couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. 3 people came into the store while I was there & she greeted them all with an enthusiastic hello. I had what felt like a barrage of questions to throw at her & she patiently walked me thru every answer & even expounded with her own ideas about my shipping needs. The store was well kept, well stocked & well staffed. We have had the worst experience with this company. Do not use this company if you can help it at all. This has been the most horrible customer experience ever. We shipped a 170 lb trunk through them on June 15th to get there by June 23rd. Michelle told us that 7 days would not be long enough to get the package there on time via ground service and duped us into paying $499 for three day air, which was completely unnecessary. The trunk contained a trade show booth for a conference. When we got to the conference the following week in Kansas City, there was no trunk. It was a Saturday after 2:00 pm when we got there so their store was closed; therefore, we called UPS. UPS told us that the vendor never got the package to them for shipping. There we were- at a trade show 1000 miles away with no marketing material. At a show we paid upwards of ten thousand dollars to be at after travel expenses. I emailed the address on the website and got a response the next day, Sunday, from Bud,the owner. Bud was quite flippant in his email responses. Here is the chain: Hi Samantha, I was not aware there was an issue with delivery, only with my bill. I was not aware of the problem until I received that email from you yesterday. We will notify you when we receive it. Now, we would have to resubmit the receipts and wait another eight days. We have another conference to attend in two weeks; therefore, waiting another 8 days is not really an option for us. We either need to retrieve the package or order all new marketing material today. In light of this, we called Michelle today to find out what happened insofar as her getting the receipts we sent her on 6/27 to UPS. She refused to answer the phone for us several times. We kept calling. When she did answer, she was rude- cutting us off as we were speaking and then hung up on us. I would implore anyone to never use this business if you care about your packages or being treated like a paying customer. Horrible service all around!! Update- when we told Bud we would have to get an attorney involved because we were getting nowhere, this was part of his email response: Attached is the contract you signed when you shipped the package. I run a small business. During my rounds, I've visited 7 different UPS Stores around Central PA and this one is the absolute worst. Dropping off a prepaid package (as most people do) and the woman working behind the counter said she couldn't give me a drop off receipt because I didn't pay her to ship it. When I mentioned to her about how every other UPS store issues a drop off receipt with no issues, she made the comment "well I hope you won't come back here then!" Absolutely rude & unprofessional. My one visit to this location has been my last. I called UPS Store HQ after my experience and they confirmed that a UPS Store location can't refuse to give a drop off receipt, as issuing one is standard operating procedure. I recommend anyone else having issues with this location to call the HQ Customer Support at (800) 789-4623. After reading all these similar reviews it's clear that the Owner needs to clean house soon or he's not going to have a business left after employees like the one I interacted with repel customers one by one! read more
