It has a beautiful view of the river and/or Harrisburg city, depending on which window you are peeking out of. A pathway out back that goes along the river will take you all the way into the city (about a mile walk). If you work here, there is plenty of free employee parking. The customer lot for PennDOT is a decent size, but a little small for the volume they get at certain times of the month.

I became involved through YPOC, which holds its meetings at La Cultura, and there is leadership overlap between the organization and this establishment. Because of that connection, my experience with the organization is directly tied to what I experienced inside this space. What is publicly presented as an inclusive, welcoming environment felt very different in practice. Over several months, I consistently felt like I was walking on eggshells while attending meetings and participating in events held here. When I was asked for honest feedback and gave it respectfully, I was later told I needed to apologize simply for being honest. My character and intentions were questioned, and I was accused of seeking attention for participating in activities I had been invited to be part of. The contrast between the messaging of inclusion and the behavior I experienced felt like subtle prejudice and exclusion. It was not overt, but it was clear enough to make me feel unwelcome and diminished. After I ended my membership (the $65 fee is non-refundable), communication from several members abruptly stopped. A board member who had just gotten to know me blocked me the next day. Messages wishing people well went unanswered. If you are considering attending events, joining memberships, or financially supporting initiatives connected to La Cultura, I encourage you to observe carefully and ask questions before committing. My experience shifted significantly once I became a paying member. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision, especially sponsors.

She refused to be helpful or review any information. The maintenance man was rude and I was only filling out an application, so god forbid I actually was renting a place and had to deal with him. The overall experience was poor, the workers are rude and they were negligent at their jobs. This experience was enough to turn me off from ever renting from them.

The packages we needed shipped got there but my goodness, I think we are the first people the staff talked to. Update: the girl taking care of us tried to get us to pay for it when we told her 5 times to put it on the company account. The managers have had to get involved and they are having to call somebody not here. We are just standing around Update: they literally couldn't do it. This is so wild.
