The post office delivered a package in a cardboard envelope and just left it lie on the porch, (the porch is not covered) in the pouring rain. Never rang the doorbell (I was home all day) so that tells me the carrier just came part way up the steps to the porch and just threw the package which landed in front of the door. I never knew it was there till I went out to check on the mail. In speaking with the postmaster at Ephrata Post Office he seemed to want to blame the company I ordered my package from questioning why they did not ship it in a plastic envelope bag. I agree with him on that matter however that does not excuse the carrier for just letting a package sit in the open in pouring rain. What kind of a person would do that and think that it is OK. The package was dripping wet when I picked it up and the paper back book inside was ruined.

Always understaffed and a few people in line makes this place a drawn out affair instead of a quick transaction. The staff are usually friendly but sometimes barely speak. Depends who you get and how busy it is. I would normally give 3 stars for this, but I feel extremely generous today. Don't avoid this place at all costs, but Camp Hill and Lemoyne are a few minutes away and with free parking.

It's a small post office, I guess, though I'm not too familiar with how large the average post office is, but it's big enough for Annville and for all of your postal needs. The employees here seem a bit standoffish for some reason, but are fast and efficient and will have you in and out of the place quickly.

I had an outstanding experience with my local Social Security office (Harrisburg, PA) yesterday. I…read moreknow, shocking - right? The truth is, it took me FOUR tries to get an agent to listen to me, hear what I was saying, and help me. Oh, and the person who provided the worst and most inaccurate information? A gentleman from that same office. I took a deep breath and called again. Fortune finally decided to smile on me. I spoke with Julie, who listened and helped. She was the person to find the information I'd provided. It had been there the whole time. It's true - Social Security is understaffed. Their job is unrewarding. I get that. But in my instance, the agent in charge of my case mis-filed my proof of insurance coverage: not my fault and how was I to know??? As a result of this person's lack of care, I was threatened by that Harrisburg gentleman with permanent penalties and lack of coverage. Ummm, nope. What is the purpose of my message and why is it relevant? It's two-fold - To tell my fellow seniors that if you believe you are being under-served, you very likely are. Get off the phone with the joker you are talking to and try again. Yes, it's going to take some time. But it's your healthcare and your money. Many agents hide behind their anonymity and shotgun mis-information. (Don't get me started on the entire process - it was way more convoluted that what I'm telling you). Stick with things and see them through. The second purpose is to state whatever role/job you have, know there are people like me who count on you to do the right thing. It matters. Thank you, Julie.
