The look was slightly butchered when they closed off open spaces with fake wood-grain panels sometime in the 60s, but it's still one of the most impressive small post offices out there. Actually it's so small that it was on the list of post offices to be closed about 2012. This post office is just outside the Eastern corner of the Morristown Green, which is not where the Yelp map shows it as of this writing. If you're lucky you'll get one of the metered parking spaces on the street out front or in the lot right at the side, but they're often full. Oh right, I should review the service :) Two stars is about right. The people here are generally helpful but rarely friendly. Usually there's only one window open and inevitably it seems the person at the head of the line needs to rearrange their entire financial future via money orders. Why does time seem to stop in the post office!? I try to distract myself by looking at the building details. Counter hours are 8:15-4:45 M-F, which the Yelp page might not show because of the quarter hour. They also have many post office boxes here.

Most post office locations close at 5, and even though I don't live as close to this location anymore, I still end up coming here bc of their late hours. Whether you've been in twice or 20 times, each person is so kind & lines go quickly! I don't live in Summit, so this is not my usual post office…read more I was passing by, so went in to drop off three packages that were already addressed and paid for. Usually packages are scanned in front of me, and then I'm asked if I want a receipt. This gentleman put them down, didn't scan them in front of me, when I asked for a receipt, he rudely said -you should've told me that first. He handed me back the packages and told me to go use the machine.... after struggling and figuring out how to use it without any success, I called for him to please come and give me assistance- about six times until he finally begrudgingly walked over - shameful, rude service. I wasn't bothering you. This is your job!!!
