This is the worst post office I've ever experienced. Not only does mail take forever when sent from this location, I've twice had mail I sent from Chatham mysteriously go missing...and amazingly, no one employed there ever has answers or is held accountable. Chatham post office is the personification of our family's joke about a job done half-assed: Good enough for government work. I've learned my lesson to never mail items from this location, but as a town resident, I'm a captive victim of their poor service when it comes to mail delivery (or should I say non-delivery). read more

Do not trust anything important via Chatham USPS. They will lose and/or destroy it after it's delayed.

The prior employees at this post office were really rude and abrupt. But lately every time that I've gone into ship something out or pick up shipping supplies the service has been really great and everyone has been very nice and accommodating. read more

With the exception of one tall lady, the staff at the Summit P.O. are the rudest and most obnoxious bunch I've ever met. Also, volunteers had to clean up the front property because it was so filthy and overgrown. I now patronize the Chatham P.O., clean with pleasant staff. read more

If I could give 0 stars for this post office for my experience today I would. After waiting 18 minutes in line, I walked up to the register and Fabricio was there to greet me with "this should be ready before you even step up here" in a rude and condescending tone. Well hello to you too! The reason my labels weren't on the envelope yet was because it was my first time mailing something certified, and I had a question that needed to be answered before committing to it. The certified labels had already been filled out... and it's not my problem that they have an 18 minute line and only 2 people working. Fabricio needs a lesson in customer service! read more

Without a doubt, the worst post office I've ever used. Horrible customer service. They will charge different prices and different rates for the same items on different days. The tellers will also converse back in forth in a foreign language in front of customers. Very rude. The only reason I gave it one star is because it has late hours. read more

Typical postal Service in a suburban location. They also have passport services here. However you need to make a reservation for these passport services. The frustrating thing about this post Office and all post offices are the generally slow service and the mediocre quality of the personnel. read more

I have never dealt with such an inconsistent Post Office. I have lived in Chatham for over one year and I continue to get mail left on our front steps which sometimes get wet, instead of inside our locked door in the mailbox where it is supposed to be placed. It depends on the day if the mail carrier decides to place it in the mailbox or not. Also, pieces of important mail have not been delivered consistently which is very frustrating. When I call the post office, they do not help whatsoever. Can't wait to move out of the town in a few months and never have to deal with this post office again. The worst service!!! read more

DO NOT even go to this post office for passport renewal. My appointment was canceled and rescheduled 3 times. Every time, the lady will call you like the last min and say something wrong with the system, covid understaff, or photo machine is broken and ask you to just reschedule. I spoke to her that we are taking time off our job because you need both parents to be there for my child's passport renewal. She literally called me at 3:00 pm when my appointment is 3:45 to inform me that the photo service is down. Repeatedly she refuses to help out even I ask her that I need a little more time. When I ask her that I want to speak to her supervisor, she refuses to do so and start saying she doesn't work in this office and just helping out, etc, and taking no accountability. She could have called me the day or earlier that morning, instead she decided to let us know right before an appointment, which makes it almost impossible to make it happen. If they can't keep up, why don't they just stop offering the service altogether. read more

Our regular carrier, Dan, is terrific. Daily mail by 11:00 am, and all packages to the door. When its not him, mail arrives by 2-3:00 pm and packaging, more often than not, are tossed out the window of the truck against my mailbox and lie near the street. Anyone could take them, plus its often wet there. If you can't do your job any better than that, think about a new job. I also had a fill-in, a girl, who drove off the side of my driveway last year, got stuck and left a 12 ft patch up the side of my driveway. Could you leave me your address, I'd like to come over to where you live and trash it. You're all sad. Maybe Dan could give you lessons. read more

When we moved into Chatham Hill apartments, it took them 2 and a half weeks to put a new lock and key on our mailbox. I called multiple times and was given the run around and was told that the guy whose responsibility it was to do this was on vacation. God forbid someone covers for him... Then when we moved back into our house, they weren't delivering our mail and I had to go down to PO and sort it out. read more

My company does 3 large mailings a year for marketing. Patrice saw me with 4 larges boxes of bubble mailers prepaid, right near their closing time and she welcomed me and showed me where to put the boxes. She was so pleasant and answered all of my questions about the post office. I will come here next time definitely! read more

Recently went to drop off a package which the manager Tracy rejected even though it was not expired and the label was less than 24 hours old. When I tried to explain she wouldn't listen and told me that she was the manager and knew the rules/regulations. I opened a case with USPS and was told that I actually was not wrong and allowed to ship within 24 hours with Priority Mail 2-3 delivery. The case associate tried explaining it to Tracy and then she still said I was in the wrong and didn't go to the retail counter. Again, not true. I called again to verify that I could drop off there with no issue and Tracy said that I was obviously not understanding the situation and that Elizabeth (the claim associate) did not explain the rules to me! She then proceeded to say there was no point of going back and forth with me so she hung up the phone.Tracy was extremely rude, dismissive, and was talking to other associates in the background while I was on the phone talking. No apology or at least acknowledging that I did nothing wrong and should have been able to drop off my package instead of going back home to re-print the same label! read more
