Sometimes they start the hold late. They never start the delivery again on the right day. How hard is a vacation hold, guys! Twice, I've picked up a trail of letters strewn down the road to deliver to my neighbors' mailboxes myself. We get each other's mail all the time. They can't seem to close the mailboxes - maybe they need to hold a training on how to lift up the lid and close a mailbox? That seems to be very hard as well. Leaving an over-sized box by opening the mailbox and "teetering it" on the open lid? Really? In the rain? Levels of incompetence that border on unreal. Unfortunately, they're a monopoly. As a business, they would have zero customers...

Horrible service. Refusing to deliver to an established and…read moregrandfathered mailbox for 21 years due to logistics. The mail that they did deliver (wrong address on the other side of the town has been in the mailbox with the flag up for over two weeks, and they have refused to service the address, stating that it's a hazard and that they can't back up. There's more than enough room for a three point turn inside of the driveway (16' wide) to turn around, and if they don't want to....there's a turnaround and the end allowing for no backing up. The lies by this office are insane, making every excuse possible even though refutable, simply because it's 20 minutes extra on their route, and because of the "volume of packages" received. After visiting the house, the supervisor admitted that it was an established grandfathered mailbox, and that the carrier was asking to place the mailbox in the drainage ditch (5' deep less than 2 feet from the edge of the road), because she didn't feel safe pulling into the driveway, but would feel safe enough to deliver the mail in the breakdown lane of a 55MPH zone. He admitted that the driveway was safer than the side of the road, but would not address the package volume. I don't believe that ALL of the employees are incompetent, but one carrier has rallied the other employees with sob stories, and has poisoned the entire staff, because of the "volume of packages". I'm seeing the same issue with many other homeowners in the Effingham / Ossipee area, suggesting that this office may need to become a clean slate with all new employees. Extremely rude and unprofessional behavior on every clerk and carrier I have come into contact at this office. Truth is a must, as it requires public trust. This office offers no truth, but instead is defensive, accusatory and insulting.

BUT they said fill out this card and we can deliver going forward... filled out the card and... next package was returned to sender anyway. I was staying locally for almost a month, so I had to get some items delivered by USPS, no worries…read moreright? Well some places on private roads still don't have USPS service...and I was staying at one. What to do? Call the local USPS office and ask if they can hold the package there for you to pick up. No worries. Called in, showed up the next morning (had to wait until it came back on the truck) and picked up my package. Excellent phone and in person service! Parking was easy in their decent size parking lot.
