DO NOT EVEN THINK OF SENDING YOUR DRY CLEANING TO THESE DISREPUTABLE, INCOMPETENT, WOULD-BE DRY…read moreCLEANERS. After a major move, I dropped off a new suit and an overcoat at sister laundry mat/dry cleaners, Bangor Street Laundromat, 56 Western Ave., Augusta, ME. From there, it was then sent to John's Green Cleaners, 355 Main St, Lewiston, ME 04240. A week later, John's returned my black suit and overcoat to Bangor Street Laundromat where I discovered that both items were severely heat-damaged: the suit in the lapel, waist area, and front and back shoulders; the overcoat was a mass of wrinkles caused by seams that had shrink considerably and totally deformed and diminished each garment. Overzealous or inexperienced pressing had permanently damaged both items. Owner Greg at first responded to a phone call and asked to be given opportunity to correct matters. I sent the damaged items back to John's for a second pressing attempt. A week later, the still-damaged items were miserably the same. Phone calls to Greg's cell and the business went unanswered for at least two weeks. Finally, I wrote an email including the below photo links demanding the filing of a damages claim. Eventually an unknown "John's Cleaner" employee responded to my email by text (unprofessional) and included a photo of theirs still showing the obviously-damaged suit jacket on their presser with warpage all around. Within the text, John's took no responsibility for having damaged both items, provided no means of filing a damage claim, and offered a self-serving resolution: that I subject further articles of clothing to their abuse and receive a one-time 30% discount. Apparently, Greg sees small claims court as the preferred means to resolve damages disputes with his clients. Do yourself a favor: stay away from Bangor Street and all of John's Green Cleaner's affiliates throughout Maine.

I can't believe I only just discovered that the North Windham Pratt Abbott has laundromat services…read moreas well as dry cleaning! It is fantastic! Clean, spacious, easy parking, lots of machines, great staff and so super-modern that you never have to look for coins to load your washer or dryer--it's all down via an incredibly easy app: you just set up your payment method, then scan the barcode on the machine, tap in the options (e.g., hot, warm, cold, super-wash, extra rinse, etc) and hit pay. The washers then start their cycle automatically; with the dryers you then press the start button. Plus, the prices are amazing. Our camp doesn't have a washing machine, so we rely on laundromats, and I just LOVE this place.

In December, there were many difficult family issues that transpired and some cleaning and pressing was urgently needed for some items. I took these items to 4 other dry cleaners and no one could help. My last place to try was We Care. I did not even know where they were located but someone suggested them to me. The employee at this business went out of their way to have the items cleaned and pressed within the time frame r required. They could not have been more helpful and compassionate and also did a terrific job on the articles. When my daughter went to pick up the items, the owner would not let her pay due to the trying circumstances of our life at the time. This is something that we never expected. I will never go to any other dry cleaners. This is the kind of business that I want to promote and to whom I shall give my business. Thank you so much We Care Dry Cleaners! You are awesome!
