Except for when the mail truck knocked over my original mail box, and required me to get a new one (I shared the post that the two boxes sit on with my neighbor), my mail delivery has been great. It is a truly tiny post office. The parking lot is practically non-existent, but you can park on the street near by. Usually there is only one Postal worker, but they are very friendly and make a good effort to get what you need. I actually don't go inside this Post Office too much, but instead use the incredibly handy outside mail box. The mail gets picked up at 1pm most days and has proven to be very fast and reliable in getting the mail where it is going.

After making several attempts to get in contact with the person who had received it, Dante personally went to the address, retrieved my package, and then hand-delivered it to me at my place of employment. That kind of dedication and customer service is rare these days. It's really good to know there are still people out there who genuinely care and are willing to go the extra mile to help someone. I started tracking it about 10 days ago when it was in Santa Barbara & then in Texas & then Arizona! It was so close & then it was crazy whatever was happening!!! I was ready to cancel & just purchase it from my store cuz they finally got it in their store! Anyway.... Until our post office here, in Paso Robles California got involved. They have actually called me to update me twice Matt the supervisor here at the post office just called me to tell me that my package was on its way! You can park on the first floor of the parking garage in the 20-minute spaces, but they are sometimes all full during the day. I was able to walk over with my package after conferring with the security guard at my bank, who had seen me walk into the bank, that I had actually used the bank and now had 20 minutes if I needed to run an errand. As soon as I entered the second clerk went on a break, leaving only one clerk at a window. She valiantly worked on by herself. A mail carrier was helping her out, so he kind of wandered back and forth. They were out of passport applications, and he gave information to a person who would have just had to stand in line for nothing. Then he kindly took my package, which was prepaid and for which I only needed a receipt, so good team work. It seems like the Postal service needs to supply more clerks to this post office since it gets a lot of use from the students and tourists, as it is still the central Post Office.

I've waited in line both times (holding a pre-stamped, ready-to-go package), and instead of letting me know that I can place it on the counter, the cashier continues to scroll through her phone. Not sure if the phone is working as the "register" but today was my third and final time at this location. Today as I entered, there was a man sitting across the counter (yes, you read that right) reading a cutting board that the store was selling. The cashier continued to scroll through her phone. I was the only other person in the store, so there was not a line. I waited for a few minutes, and I finally interrupted the cutting board reading / cell phone scrolling to ask where to place my ready-to-go package. I guess I was waiting for a man with a chainsaw to come out and drag me to the back. If not Chainsaw Massacre vibes, then definitely Twilight Zone. This place is a "no" for me.
