The employee DAISY is a postal worker on a power trip. I have been selling online for many years; I am accustomed to her behavior at this point. Two years ago, she forced me to repack a package (when Sharpie-ing would have sufficed.) Fine. Ruin my day. I work many jobs and need to sell to supplement my income. I avoid confrontation and did what the woman said. Luckily, I was off from my day job that day (February 2017). I am accustomed to her "by-the-book" behavior. I don't know where Joe went, but he was wonderful. Thank god for the other employees, because they will comfort you when DAISY is scolding you for language, packing ability, or whatever else she feels like f***** up your day with. DAISY, people are in the post office for a reason. I respect your position, but get off your high horse. You are making people's lives HARDER. After I leave this post office, I have an hour commute into Manhattan. Thank god for Del Valle. He should be in charge of the entire Postal System. DAISY will make you go home, cancel a pre-paid invoice, and drive you crazy. She will then scold you because she thinks she is your mother. US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at this location last Wednesday. I was sending packages to Chicago and Florida, and the experience was appalling. Mr. Mock, the representative, was rude and dismissive. I specifically requested 3-day shipping, which was significantly cheaper than the 2-day option. However, Mr. Mock refused to listen and charged me for the more expensive 2-day service, claiming the packages would arrive before Monday. Unfortunately, the packages didn't arrive until Monday, and the recipient had even been informed that it would arrive on that day. I'm still trying to understand why I was charged for a service that wasn't delivered as promised. I strongly advise against using this location, and I'm hoping to get a refund for the unnecessary extra charges. I want my money back !!! read more

Very small post office which can get very crowded. I needed some make-up stamps, and the wait was over 20 minutes because they only had one person working at the window during the week before Christmas. No self-service machines either. Limited selection of stamps, both make-up (no 10 cent stamps that day apparently) and forever ones. The other post office in Bay Ridge on 5th Avenue seems to run better than this one, but sometimes I have to come here when nearby. read more

I need receipts for my prepaid packages because they show the weight of the package in case of a dispute with an on -line buyer and to prevent loss in case of cancellation because the item has not been scanned in a timely manner. Usually I had just 1 package. Do not go there anymore. One of the people gets argumentative when you ask to scan a prepaid package and says that you have a tracking number, leave the package in the window. I do not want to explain why I need it scanned in other Post Offices. I believe I have the right to ask for a receipt politely and just get a receipt. read more

Came here for the first time ever since I moved out of Bay Ridge. I had three packages with paid labels needed to be scanned. Last time I was here a year ago I actually lost my Package after dropping it off there (got a receipt that time). Some bald worker rudely tells me that he only scans 2 items maximum otherwise there's no receipt to be given. He stares at me with a face that screams "tough luck" and tells me otherwise I need to take my packages and go somewhere else. I never had such quick but rude service at USPS. I know this review won't do much but let my fellow readers be aware. If you can stay away I would strongly suggest doing so! read more

Pretty small service spot, not too much space to go about. To the left, writing spaces and postal package envelopes, to the right, service windows. The workers are usually quick, though there's an older gentleman who takes his time. At most, I've seen 3 people at the stations handling lines that can stretch back from the windows to the main entrance. On these rushes, it feels like the whole line stops and drags because of the service pace. Overall, okay location, I get my stamps and send my packages here with ease especially without the line of customers. This place is an easy to go to spot since it's so close from the subway and bus stops. Note: service is from M-F from 9a-5p, the larger branch on 5501 7the ave is opened on Saturdays. read more

I went to the Ovington Post Office branch in Bay Ridge today. New York City is still under a quarantine order from New York State, yet 2 of the workers were not wearing masks. Additionally, a customer was not wearing a mask and it is impossible to safely socially distance in the space within which the branch is located. Lastly, this Post Office branch was incredibly dirty, from the door handles to the counters, and all other surfaces that are regularly touched, which are all incubators for the spread of germs. If not for the fact that I needed to mail important documents, I would have walked right out as soon as I stepped inside. read more

What can I say its the Post Office, sometimes the last place you wanna be. I have experienced many a postal station that the civil servants were lazier than sloths crawling up trees. I have been here before and it was a good experience. I came in today and there was a black guy who was absolutely so horrible he reminded me of George Jefferson from The Jefferson's insulting customers and acting boldly entitled as if customers have to use his business...except this was no comedy. I came up with my box and he said very rudely, "You're going to have to tape up that box YOURSELF!!!" Yes, dude actually yelled at me very disrespectfully when I had literally done nothing to initiate it. I didn't respond in a nasty way either because I had been meditating earlier and felt centered and at peace (sounds so bohemian of me but it did help me to not get rude back). However, other customers were floored at how he spoke to me and another customer said, "I thought it was bad on 5th ave, but this is worse." I wish that was all I had to say about this guy but there were several more times he continued to be rude. I completed the package address form for express next day because there were no priority stickers in the office where I could have the address filled out in advance. I did everything I could BEFORE getting to the counter to make this quick because I had places to go and things to do, and they had a long line. I had my pen out and ready, my money ready, address ready and in my experience every post office worker taped up the box for me so yeah..Anyway, he put the tape in the window for me to retrieve and didn't even have scissors or a tape cutter I could use along with the priority sticker I needed to put the address on. I had to get out of line to tape it up myself and another customer voluntarily helped me to tape it up. He did say express was going to be expensive and suggest priority, but he even made that rude lol. I wish I would have had someone with me to record it so you can see that this is just not my point of view and I am not embellishing this to make it seem worse than what it was. Dude spoke to me like I was retarded at one point lol. I saw the amount on the card swiper and started to lift the window so I could have my card ready to swipe when ever he told me to go ahead and pay. He assumed that I was going to swipe right away I guess and yelled at me JUST WAIT. I was so ready to get out of there that I left without my receipt which would have the tracking info on it so I inadvertently gave him another reason to yell again lol. I hope he got all of his rudeness and yelling out of his system but I seriously doubt it. This would have been a one star review but I believe this guy just ships the packages and they try to limit his interaction with the public unless they really need to because of long lines. read more

Very convenient location for me since I live around the area. A very small retail location, but you can get anything done at this location. The only thing you can't do, off the top of my head, is pick up packages or mail here. This place will get crowded and the lines can go as far as the door way. There is usually only one person at the counters, but the most I've ever seen is two. The line can move very slow. Overall this place gets the job done. Convenient location for people that live around Bay Ridge Ave area. read more

Now I have seen everything. It's bad enough that the Post Office on Ovington Avenue in Brooklyn has no paperwork such as certified mail forms, return receipt forms and Post Office box applications. Its even worse that it is only open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 which means you'll never be able to use it if you work. But a few weeks ago, I stopped by about noon and there was a huge sign on the door "closed for lunch, we will be back at 3pm". Closed for lunch? Was there only one person working that day? Let's just say that the people who needed their services and saw the sign were not happy as well. read more

If there was a 0 star that's exactly what they would get. Worse service ever!!! Have one person working, the line is out the door & the rep is super slow! Takes forever with each person. And on top there are rude customers on the line letting others in front of them. Which means a longer wait if your behind. Seriously one person working on a Tuesday. That is insane. read more

As far as Brooklyn US post offices, this one is typical. Not bad, not amazing. It has some friendly workers there (if you are friendly to begin yourself of course) and is usually only moderately busy whenever I go (usually in the early afternoon). I hate having to walk 1 mile to get there from my apartment, but that's not their fault. read more

I totally agree with the people writing these reviews - BUT (and this isn't the fault of the branch) wtf!!! (excuse me) why can't the USPS allow this tiny little branch to be open on Sat.? and why can't USPS squeeze in one self service machine? That being said - most of the other post offices (with the luxury of a LOT more space ........e.g. the one up on 5th Ave.) are part of the USPS nightmare (OUR tax dollars, thank you very much - so what's up with the mandatory resentment and sullen, entitled, bullying attitude of most post office workers? - you're getting a steady paycheck on MY dollar...ok I'll stop) - so back to the little Ovington branch - 4 stars!
