Amazingly bad! I used click and ship and dropped my packages in the last door. They lost my packages twice! Today I decided to wait in line to drop my package with an employee there. The woman did't take my package and told me to drop the package in the last door again. Why was not she considerate and take my package? I have had 3 packages so far that have not been delivered and no delivery notices were ever in my mailbox or on my door. They told me that they always send several notices before they send the items back to the sender but i have never recieved one. I always have to wait in a long line and the staff behind the glass are the most unfriendly people. There is no good customer service. The little asian lady is the worst!! I waited in line here the other day to send out a piece of mail priority, and I swear I waited 30 minutes while every person shuffled uncomfortably about. Worst off, there was no air conditioning in the room and it felt like the guy in front of me idea of deodorant was to spray himself full of piss and vinegar. This is one of the few places that make me wish Yelp had a zero star option. Time and time again I am forced to go because the postal service in the neighborhood is so horrible at delivering packages. They frequently leave the dreaded peach slips instead of packages, summoning you to go pick it up yourself. Might I suggest you bring an encyclopedia and better your mind instead of allowing it to rot away while you wait in line., forever. I wouldn't wish a trip to this post office upon my worst enemy. This is THE WORST POST OFFICE IN THE US!!! Even when the Kensington branch is empty, it takes 30 min to get a stamp put on an envelope . There are at most 2 post office workers working. The 2 are as slow as molasses. They have non stop conversations with their friends. The supervisor is no where to be found. I had one worker give me a wrong name when I requested it. The post office workers are rude and nasty. All the workers and supervisor need to be replaced!!! What is taking our boro do or public advocate so long???? I've had my mail delayed and or not sent( lost) when I said something to the worker about helping me. I give up with that branch . I go to park slope to mail everything. Close the branch. This has to be the worst post office in all of Brooklyn. After all, it was immortalized in that famous youtube video. I can see why. I have lived in the neighborhood & used this post office for about 6 years. Something is seriously wrong with the energy level of the people that work here. They disappear for 5-10 minutes to go find something in the back, chit chat rather than take customers & some of them are horribly rude to customers. My main gripe has to be that they never make an honest attempt to deliver packages. I still haven't figured out the rationale behind this. All I know is that every time I am expecting a package I receive an orange slip instead stating that they have attempted delivery. Attempted delivery when? I have a work from home job & am home all day. This has happened when I've been in the house at the exact minute they supposedly attempted delivery numerous times. I don't think they try very hard. They just leave the slip so then you have to go to the post office to deal with their incompetence. Everyone has this complaint. I also tried to put mail on hold & had it scheduled to be delivered to me on a Monday. No mail. When I called there some rude woman named Jackie was completely unhelpful & told me that she had no idea why my mail was still sitting there & I would have to call the next day between 7-9 AM to get an answer from the carrier. She refused to help me. What's the point of requesting a certain mail drop off date then? This post office is so disorganized & unpredictable. I would advise to minimize your dealings with them as much as possible. These people obviously don't know the meaning of customer service or efficiency, nor are their jobs dependent on performing these 2 basics of customer service 101. I will not even go into the actual post office experience and how arrogant and unprofessional inept and incompetent not to mention careless the employees are. that has been hashed over time and again. suffice it to say this is probably the worst post office ever in worldwide history. my complaint is that for the past few months our usual mailman has not been delivering our mail. we have been getting our mail from at least three different mail people. the old guy was kind of creepy but at least he did a somewhat decent job most of the time. the people who now deliver our mail must be trainees or new hires. the reason i say that is because at least two to three times each week we are given mail belonging to other people who live no where near us. this is not a simple error of giving mail to the neighbors accidentally. this is neglect of sorting mail . just dumpling letters wherever they can. I spoke to todays mailman regarding this and i expressed my concern that if i am getting other peoples mail randomly then i is highly probable that other people are getting mine from time to time as well. some of our mail is delivered opened as well which doesn't sit well with me. todays mailman just told me that he is not the regular guy and was filling in just for today. his advice was to wait until i see the new regular guy who is spanish and discuss my concerns with him. im thinking i need to speak to the postmaster general read more

I've lived here for 28 years and stopped using this post office 20 years ago. Everything you read is true unfortunately. Packages that are mailed to me don't arrive. I've gotten an average of one package for each 5 shipped to my address. I work at home and know their lies about packages described elsewhere here. But the most damaging things are when you don't get certified letters and there's no way to know this has happened. I called my doctor only to be informed he had sent me a critical certified letter a month before and I did not receive it. A few weeks ago I had a judgement against me in court because I did not receive either of the courts regular mail or certified mail letters telling me there was a hearing. Now I have to hire attorneys and clean up the mess they have made. I am severely disabled and this is keeping me from getting life-saving medical treatment. The post office in Windsor terrace (11215) is best for the neighborhood. They are nice and never crowded. Much better than the Park Slope offices. I've also have had them steal from me as one woman described in her review. I left my wallet in the back room sending a package and immediately asked for it back. They claimed it was not there. This was closing time on 12/24/1999. I spent Christmas Eve canceling all my credit cards then had a huge mess to clean up after Y2K. A few weeks later my wallet--emptied of money--was returned via the post office with no return address. Guess who sent it. read more

While its common for them to leave pink slips at the door to your apartment (without actually ringing the buzzer, or sometimes they just walk in without the packages and white sorry we missed you slips for the whole building), this is not the worst of their manners. To reschedule a delivery, over the course of a day we called a few times. When they finally picked up the phone (incredibly rare) we were promptly greeted with the exclamation of "Shut the F#@#! Up!" After which we were hung up on. (Certain it was the right number, because we got it from calling USPS customer service after having called in the past with no answers). If you ever seen that episode on TV about the "soup Nazi", well this post office has all the "Nazi postal clerks". About 90% of the time, the clerks are treating the customers so rude its really unbelievable. The secret is to wait on the long line quietly...just wait...even if there is just one clerk and the line doesn't move...just wait, then ignore all the comments that the rude clerks are talking about like how rude the people are that they deal with are, (well they wonder why people go off on them, takes two to tango!!) just quickly know what type of service you want and speak plain English....God forbid you have an accent of any type, (in a neighborhood full of immigrants and culturally mixed) clerks get frustrated and rude at you and you wait for more hours.....God forbid you have a question too...just don't speak and say only what you have to and leave. Another thing, never use that machine for stamps inside it takes your money and your not going to get it back, even if you fill out a request for your money back at the window, you don't get a response, never. Another thing...why does the mail come around so late like 3 or 4 pm? It comes later everyday and then out of the blue it comes at 11am...weird. Well I fell lucky, because even if its late and sometimes my neighbor got it and has to give it to me at least I eventually get it in this neighborhood. Its the worst postal office ever, even the big post office service in Manhattan is nice and the lines move and other postal offices in Brooklyn and Queens I been to are friendly. I was there that day that the guy flip out and the video is posted on you tube, the guy just went to go ask if more clerks can come to the window because the line wasn't moving and he just received the rudest service ever. The clerk should have lost her job but the post office has so much red tape that even if they shoot a customer they would still probably have their jobs. At least the public meetings that they have concerning this office has resulted in having for a day or two after the meeting is held a postal van outside the postal office and the hours they are open are more longer and better. read more

Awful. They have lost multiple packages and important documents of mine. At this point whenever I order something I know there's at least a 50% chance it will not arrive. I complained via the USPS website and got a voicemail from them telling me to call them back so I could discuss the matter with them. Well, I have been calling that number for days now (and at multiple times of the day) and they have not picked up. From now on all important mail and packages goes to my parents' place in Park Slope. The biggest gripe I have about this post office is how they have such a limited window for package pickup. I work during the day M-F and am never home to sign for deliveries. Since they leave a slip (understandably, as packages could easily be stolen on my busy street), it's almost always guaranteed that I'll have to schlep a mile in both directions from Ditmas Park to McDonald Avenue in Kensington between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm on a Saturday to get my package. This is incredibly limiting and inconvenient, especially if I have other plans for the day. It makes ordering things online hardly worth it. The location is always very crowded with long lines, and the clerks clearly do not want to be there. They're very snappy and unfriendly to patrons. I guess you can't expect much from USPS. read more

This has got to be one of the worst post office in Brooklyn. Pretty much every time I apprehensively go, there are only one or two counters open and I have to wait in line for AT LEAST 40 minutes. Although it has never happened to me, I've seen many people being turned back at the counter after waiting in line for hours, just because there may have been a small, easily fixable mistake with their package or form, making them stand in line again. And more often than not, the employees are quite rude to the customers. As a side note, I would totally recommend checking out the video of a guy freaking out at this post office. I think that they don not and they don't give a shit , because if they do so they would close close the office or at least chang the staff . My experience today was miserable , I went there to return a package I bought recently from walmart .Before I got into the office I bought a tape because they sell u one with price doubled . They gave me an open ended box to put the package an stick the return label on it . Actually , I found me self unable to make it because I have a little disability in my left hand . So, I told the lady on the window to help me with that ,she told me with a bleak face "I can' t" . I tried to make it but it was hard to lock an opened box from tow sides , everyone in this office saw me struggling , my fingure was bledding because of that sharp end of the tape and the employee did nothing . Terrible services. I got a package a few days ago but missed the delivery. The package uses one of my family members names so I went to pick up the day afterwards. So APPARENTLY we can't pick it up because that wasn't my name and I needed to get a signature from that family member, so I did JUST that. A week later after I had my family members consent, I went to pick it up AGAIN. But "shocker" I got sent back with bad service saying "oh you need a note this time and need that member to come" keep in mind, this isn't the first time I've came to pick up packages. Every other time it's ok. But this time, they had to send me back TWICE. Not only a waste of money but my time is precious thank you very much. read more

Came in at 5:30 (she told me it was too late, closes at 6) with about 15 packages that I'd previously weighed, it was half the weight of 1st class, and should be about 3:34 but she's claiming they were heavier, and would cost over $7, basically lied about the weight. I had weighed it at a previous post office so I know it was real.... Absolutely rude and obnoxious woman. My partner just went in and asked the same question and she said it would be $3:34 which was correct, the woman basically lied to me... This place should be closed down. read more

They have not delivered my mail in two weeks. I'm missing credit cards, pay stubs, and several packages. No slip is ever left and when I search the tracking numbers provided it just says "delivery was attempted" and it hasnt been. When you call they never answer, the phone just rings and rings and then after 30 seconds an incredibly loud beep sounds and the line disconnects. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

HORRIBLE!!! TERRIBLE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL!!! WORST POST OFFICE EVER!! From the mail carrier who does not bother to ring the bell and just dumps my package by my door to the nasty people who answer the phones, this post office is truly a dump. I also notice that the mail I get from Victoria's Secret comes without the discount card, which the carrier steals !!! They dumped a package with $52 worth of merchandise by my door which ended up being stolen. They claimed we weren't home, but I had 3 people in the house. They didn't bother ringing the bell. This is the 2nd time within a week that a package is either lost of goes back to the post office because they claim we weren't home when we WERE (my husband works from home, so somebody is always here). I was actually yelled at by an employee (as she sat safely behind the glass) - the booth light lit up and ringed, but when I walked up to her counter, she shouted "YOU NEED TO FOCUS!", and then pointed at the booth next to her. "This booth is closed. Pay attention." I asked her to repeat this, and she said it again. "you need to focus!" ... now, okay, I'm a man in my 30s who has been using the PO all my life on an almost weekly basis, but let's entertain for a second that I was somehow being a space cadet - does that still warrant her reaction? I have had a business in the community for 60 years. In the past six months I have had little to no mail delivered. I spoke to the letter carrier and he said I told him that this business did not exist. I told him he was never informed of that my me or anyone else. I went to the post office and spoke to the Post Master. She said she would look into it. On the day before 6/20/12this I mailed a letter to my business with my home address as a return address. The letter was returned to me at HOME on 7/3/12, marked "return to sender". When I returned to the Post Office today and spoke again the the same Post Master, and showed her the returned letter she was not able to justify her previous comments. Bad customer services. No one will try to help when lot of people on the line only one window open all other there chat and laughing . I track my package was not delivery because no secure location available. The notice left at 11AM I go in at 4pm. I went there without their USPS notice. I wait 15min on line the lady told me go to the machine print to the package status info they not even care you show them with your 6 inch smartphone. Okay I print it and go back to the window the lady on package pickup window told me get on the line. Okay I take that another 10 min great. OMG!!!!! Well let me tell you something, I have see and I have heard a lot off things but what happened to me today it's below any level!!! I went to this US Post Office-Kensington, for the first time after long, long time. I approach to this " lady " window, after she called " next", I tried to explain my self that I need some help since I haven't use USPS for so long and that I was not sure what I should do to mail my documents with a certified mail, the " lady" started yelling at me and giving me a nasty attitude, I asked her to " come down it's not necessary to be rude I'm asking you nicely for help, why are you giving me an attitude"?! She started yelling at me telling me "You don't needs envelop, you need regular envelope.....", with her big nasty mouth like she was waiting for someone to argue with. I don't know what was her problem, if she had a bad day or if maybe she needs some drugs but the service she provided it's not service it's more like watching scary movies. Listen I don't care who you are, what you are, where you come from and what color is your skin, I respect every human being with the level of respect they earn but YOU " lady" if you ever read this, I hope you will, you don't deserve any job, because you have no life no personality no manner for to do anything, I don't know how you got this job and I'm shocked how you're still there? Maybe you boss is nothing better then you, so he keeps you there!!! That approves all this reviews that I have read about this post office. do not bother trying to call the advertised phone number or the 1-800 number. no one answers at the local number, ever, and the 1-800 people can do nothing to help you. call 718-348-3900 or 718-435-6537 to get an actual person. in terms of actual review, this place is laughably inept. they cannot do this job, and they can't even be nice about how horrible they are at what they are supposed to do. they didn't deliver mail to me for a week, left no notices, and acted miffed when i called them about it! they misdeliver mail constantly (my building has a very clearly marked street #), and lie about leaving notices. one time i got a notice that they could not deliver a package, would not try to redeliver it, with tracking number "91-------------03" they just put a line in the middle, they were too lazy to write the whole number!! so i could not call anyone and give the tracking number that i was calling about! absurd. read more

I want to tell you my story on how the Kensington branch post office in Brooklyn stole the Christmas presents to be mailed for my family in Sweden. This all started around noon today (Sat, Dec 21). I packed all presents in a box and went to the post office. I told the post office service clerk that I was mailing my box to Sweden to be there for Christmas and asked if I could please have the required address slip and customs paper work. The clerk, tells me in rude tone that they don't have no slips for packages and that I have to write the address on the box. I tell him that I usually fill out a slip earlier years and ask if he is sure there are no form of mailing where you need a slip. He says no and that I have to write on the box. My box had no lines for address and I had no pen. I asked the clerk if he could lend me a sharpie pen as the box had glossy paper surface and he tells me he don't lend out pens.I ask the clerk if I maybe need another box? He says yes but he only has one size. I say the size will be fine and buy it for $3:49 and tape for another $3:45. I have a pen in my car and go outside and repackage all the gifts. Back inside - same clerk - He gives me the shipping options. There is the 1-3 day option at $121 and the 3-6 day option at $55. I tell him I'd like the $121 option. He asks and I tell him again. So he stamps the box and put all info in the computer and tells me "it will be $55". I say I don't want the $55 option, I want the $121 option. He tells me "well you can't have that because we don't have the required stationary". I ask if he is sure there are none in the entire post office. He says there are not. So he tells me to take the package and leave as he can't help me. I am really angry by now and ask for a supervisor and he tells me to go to the corner and wait. I do and wait and wait and wait. There is nobody supervisor in the corner or anywhere else. I go back to the clerk and tells him to get the supervisor. Now the clerk next to him pitch in to help and asks what's up. I tell her and she gets a slip and gives it to me and says "here use this". My response is that I can't believe what your colleague just told me and tell her I want my $7 back I had to pay for the new box and tape. This makes the new clerk put off and tells me they don't refund nothing. I look at the slip she is about to give me and it looks as a domestic slip. Now she is irritated and I am fuming as it turns out this is the wrong slip. She huff and puff and goes and gets two separate 4-pg forms and tells me to fill them out - these are the forms the original clerk told me they did not have in house. I am really irritated and don't want to be there anymore. I tell her I don't want to fill out more paperwork and ask her to just give me the box back so I can leave and go somewhere else. She gets angry and yells and picks up my box - which is unpaid for in terms of postage and lacks address slips - and throws it in the back of the post office behind the counter and tells me she won't give it to me. I yell at her to give me my christmas presents back but she says no. She tells me to go get the supervisor. I wait again for a supervisor, who won't come. I felt completely helpless and call 311 for advise. After hearing the story they tell me I need to get the police to go over there and help me and connect me to 911. I explain my story and they tell me they will immediately send a car if I can meet them outside the post office. It takes a while for the officers to arrive and by then the post office is closed and there is nothing to do. The officers tells me to go back to the office on Monday and talk to the manager and if they don't immediately give me my package back to call 911 and have the officers help me. She also suggest I file a complaint in the small claims court for the post office preventing me from getting my gifts to Sweden on time and essentially stealing the box. Right now I am completely disappointed and baffled that we won't be able to get the gifts to Sweden on time for my parents and niece and nephew. Also the fact that they essentially stole the gifts is completely crazy. read more

I wish I could give this place no stars because it is by far the worst post office in existence. You better not have anything to do if you have to come here because walking inside will trap you in a time-space continuum and you will be wondering how it took you an hour just to mail a letter. No matter when you come in there are always long lines wrapping around the place. Even if you come in at that rare moment when there are not as many people it will still take an eternity because the employees work at a snails pace. They are also extremely rude in person and over the phone. (Ok, maybe half of them are rude, there are a few people who work there who are friendly and helpful) Another warning, if you call on the phone, expect to be put on hold and forgotten about. Just hang up after 10-15 minutes and call back again. You can also expect to be put on hold and then hung up on. Just call back again. Not only are the clerks in the post office bad, but if you are unlucky enough to live in the neighborhood then you have assuredly experienced the poor practices of the mailmen as well. You better make sure you are sitting on your doorstep when he arrives because they will not make any effort to actually deliver your package. I once heard my door ring, and in the 15 seconds it took me to respond the mailman had already walked away. I knew this because right after I walked to my window and saw him walking to the truck and leaving. I have lost count of the "sorry we missed you" slips I have received for all the packages they have failed to deliver despite me being home. The real reason I am writing this review now is because I've finally reached my limit after a $150 pair of shoes I got sent is now missing. The tracking number said it was delivered when I was home but I never got anything. Now I am going through the torment of having to endlessly call the post office and try and speak to the guy who delivered it. Wherever my package is, I know the guy didn't do his job right because he either gave it to the wrong person, or it's still on his truck even though he said it was delivered. The only saving grace to this hellhole of a post office is the automated machine. This has saved me so much time lately as it's usually available and saves you the agony of interacting with the clerks and waiting on line. read more
