There's a USPS employee, behind the window, not looking at you, closed for business. Get used to it.

USPS: Please shut this location down. Please let the employees go without pensions so our tax dollars can be used elsewhere. This neighborhood would be better off with no post office than with this one. At least no one would have to waste their time trying to do anything at this place. You can hear lots of employees shouting, laughing, and talking in the back while the line of customers grows. Sometimes the employees will keep on laughing and chatting back there for up to 30 minutes past when the office should be open - but no one will come out to help the customers. If you're lucky, one service window will open up. The person who greets you will make you feel like they hate that you are there.

This sign is a total lie. They don't even care to give 1% customer satisfaction

Review Highlights - US Post Office

I've lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and have had my share of issues with this branch, but I felt compelled to leave a positive review because yesterday one of the workers saved my hide.

I am quite amazed when I see the sea of negative reviews/comments regarding this Post Office, but I…read morewant to share my amazing experience with the Bath Beach team and in particular the MVP Ruth who went above and beyond with my situation and deserves a promotion there (all the recognition at the very least). Everyone may have different experiences, but hopefully I can at least show that there are good people there. So to preface my story, I had a very expensive laptop being shipped priority mail express to a buyer in North Carolina. I was greeted by Ruth who took my package on the side of the queue (as it was a drop-off) and even went to the front of the line to have a question asked for me (bypassing another customer for a brief moment). Packaged dropped off, scanned, and everything was GUCCI... until a few hours later driving home, I check my emails and come across several emails from the merchant stating that there was an issue and that the purchase was not authorized by the buyer. A surge of emotion hit me, including disbelief, panic, and a good dose of "are you f---ing kidding me". The merchant advises me to go back to the Post Office and track that package down. With no hesitation, I drove back to the office and waved Ruth down and she immediately took me to the back with no questions asked. I told her my situation and she takes it with urgency; she checks to see if the package was still there... She looks at me with a concerned look on her face and I knew it was gone before she had said anything. But without even a pause, she walks over to another member of the team who had worked at the headquarters previously. Ruth had been so amazing and asked all the right people. Before I can even show any distraught or concern, she knew exactly what to do and that time was of the essence. We NEEDED to track that van down. Within a few moments and me writing my information down, I get the good news. The package was intercepted. The driver had found my package and it was just moments away from being sent to the sorting facility which most likely have meant that I was not going to see it. I have never felt so relieved to hear some random guy's name. So now, here at home as I'm typing this on a rainy New York day, I can relax a little bit easier all thanks to Ruth and her team. She has gone above and beyond all of my expectations to help me with my situation. I can't thank her enough. She's always had this amazing energy to her on a normal day and if any of you guys have any problems, she's the one to help you. I'm don't think this review can really express my gratitude enough but I know she had to pull some strings to save me from a $3000+ headache. For everything she's done. I am grateful. Her and her staff work hard and may get a lot of slack for other things, but they are great people.

I heard her getting nasty to an elderly man, shame on her, wasn't she taught to respect her elders?? The man was very nice and respectful to her, she had no right to get nasty towards him. Also I was here when they opened up in the morning and no one was at the front desk there was a line already forming we heard laughing in the back, the workers were walking by definitely made eye contact, we all said "hello, is anyone going to work here??" a young girl came out to look at her compact mirror & put lipgloss on, I said hi I just need to mail this and get stamps. this lazy bum says "I'm not on duty yet" I said "Oh really, yea that lazy attitude & lip gloss isn't going to help you, girl!" all I gotta say is no wonder, they're cutting federal employees, they need to start with THIS place! Reading the other reviews & even THEY mentioned "ms.tan", this b*tch is clearly on a power trip, she's obviously a loser who needs to feel important at the expense of others, no matter what age they are, "ms. tan" is despicable & NEEDS TO BE FIRED, ASAP!!

US Post Office - Not sure if it's legal to close the whole post office and take over 1 hour lunch without notifying the community.

All I wanted to do was ship my package back, but she kept telling me that it's UPS and to go to the Metro PCS across the street. The person who sent me the box used UPS, but it doesn't mean I need to use UPS to send it back. I kept trying to explain that, but she kept cutting me off and saying it's UPS...I KNOW IT'S UPS, I CAN READ THE 3 LETTERS ON THE BOX TOO. It's extremely difficult to keep composure when you're being disrespected for no reason. However, I somehow managed to keep calm and even tried to ease the tension by saying please and thank you at every opportunity. I was really hoping for a quick in and out, but when I asked her a simple question, she raised her voice and spoke to me like I was a moron. At that point, I had enough and asked her to give me my package back. It took every ounce of effort to hold back my anger and to say something to her. I ended up going to the NY Mailbox Center on 65th st and shipped my package for almost half the price and the guy there was super nice and helpful. Never coming back here, I'd rather drive to another post office than have to deal with that kind of disrespect again.
