I thought I was being filmed. The service was so bad - the 12 of us in line couldn't help but laugh. One person behind the window was on her phone, eating chips. Another had a box in front of her window. They were talking to each other. It was 11:30A. After about 10 min of waiting, I asked the person eating chips if I could come to her window. She responded - You're not even in line. What?! I'm first in line with 11 people behind me. She made us flip the line and still didn't take me. Every time I go against my instincts and drop a letter in the box, because I'm there, I worry that it won't get to its destination. This post office has the most incomptent people working here. Several times I had package return to sender even though the address was correct. Other people in my building keep getting my mail and vice versa. My mail has been delivered to other buildings on multiple ocassions. I placed several compliants and the same issue still consistently happens. Today, I went to the post office to mail a package. What a nightmare! The place had no AC and the line was wrapped around twice and there was only one person working on all services. Another person was working on passports only. However, the passport agent left and then another person was supposed to come on shift. But, they were just talking to the other only working agent. Twenty minutes later, this woman was still talking and hasn't set up her station. Finally, a third agent comes and middle of my transaction she runs to go chase after the water delivery guy. Who apparently was just asking passport questions without having to wait in line that is now extended past the mailbox. This post office is terribly managed and a disgrace. read more

This is THE worse post office ever. I have been going here for over 10 years and even though the people keep changing, the attitudes and disgusting behaviors of these reps is just deplorable and is somehow passing onto the next worker. Even the supervisor was miserable. They refused to open my PO Box. Sent me back and forth with paperwork they told me to bring and kept denying me. A different post office told me to bring two simple pieces of paper and that's it. I will never step foot into this nasty negative building ever again. Something needs to be done. Complain to USPS guys. USPS offices told me the only way to change something like this is to complain and report this post office after every negative encounter. They also end P.O. Oh my Gosh this post office is the pits. I wanted to purchase stamps no big deal. The self machines were not at the site so I has proceeded to wait on line. Ok fine this is not my hood I was visiting family so I had some time cool I went on line there was seven people ahead of me so I said my self 15 mins I be out. Postal workers Karen and Eva were by far the worst I have ever interacted with not only at this US post office, but at every postal establishment I have ever been to in my 30 years in NY. Karen had the audacity to take photos of me on her personal phone while she was working for some reason. What kind of employee with any training or any intelligence whatsoever does something like this while they are punched in? Eva insisted that she would not process a passport application for an invalid reason that was outdated and incorrect. It was only upon my insistence that the supervisor at this branch, Miss Cook, came out to the service area and assisted me with the staff members that my business was finally concluded after more than 30 minutes, when I had originally had a scheduled appointment. The worst. Everyone knows. No reason to expand on it. Every time I go, every single customer is having an issue. The clerks are super grumpy and rude. One time they refused to deliver mail to our building for over a month because the mailboxes were too small and couldn't find our mail when we went to pick it. Witnessed clerks screaming at customers. No one to report this too. Also, a lot of mail has mysteriously disappeared. I was there for a few hours today and I had to only use one cashier when my husband could easily go to another cashier but they refused to help him. This is in regards to the Postal Office on 1288 Coney Island Avenue This is one of the worst and dirtiest postal office in Brooklyn , not only are the employees are rude and not helpful, the carrier does not deliver the packages to your house . Why pay for shipping and handling if you can even handle the package to the person house. They are not helpful and make you do so much run around. I contacted the local postal and the supervisor at the facility was not helpful. She claimed that she knows that her employees do not deliver packages to the house directly and it was not her problem. She didn't even try to help me locate my package just told me to call an 1800 number which I waited almost an hour to be told to contact the postal service. read more

The 1288 US Postal Service is by far the worst location I have ever dealt with. Here is my laundry list of the reasons why: - They lose your packages - They don't bring the packages to your apartment during delivery and leave it in the mailroom out in the open - Because they don't deliver to your door step, they indirectly caused many packages to be stolen in the past - They force you to come to their location to pick the packages without making an attempt to deliver it - The specific location always has very long lines and low IQ employees behind the window I'm not sure how they stay open for business but if I was the government I would shut them down for horrible service! read more

This is one of the worst post office locations I have been to. I will walk to the Kings Hwy location whenever possible just to avoid this one. Theres generaly a line and most of the employees are rude and not very helpful. There are never enough right size boxes available in the lobby and if I go up to ask for one out of line I get yelled at that I need to be in line first. I do a lot of shipping via ebay and most of the time just need to drop my packages of (they have labels already). There are many times that the drop off mailbox is locked and again I am faced with the "approach the window and get yelled at option", most other offices just let me slide it through any window without any issues. As a grown person I prefer not to get yelled at like Im 10! There also seems to be a major miss with package delivery. Often times I get a notice about attempted deliveries on days when I have been home with my daughter all day waiting for said package. Sometimes I dont even get a notice and find out through amazon email that delivery was attempted. There are two or three people who work here who are very nice so if you get lucky with one of them your good. read more

This is the most dysfunctional postal office I have been to yet! The staff is obviously just as frustrated as the customers. But it gets better - after an "attempted delivery" and subsequent 8 day missing package I finally decided to see what was going in down there. Imagine my surprise when 4 other people where there waiting for the supervisor due to the same exact reason! Apparently the delivery people are imputing into their systems that delivery was attempted when in reality it was not. There was no notice left and I was home when I got the notification of attempt. I keep praying for the day when I will not have to go to a post office but until then I will have to grunt and put up with going to the post office to ship my packages. While this post office has self service equipment in the lobby that one can access before and after hours; customer beware. I shipped a couple of items using this self help option and they never got to their destination. Furthermore, while I had a receipt and tracking number no information was available. They are so awful. They never give me my mail. They keep making up reasons to not give me my mail. Then they claim I need to come in and hang up! It's illegal to refuse to give ppl their mail! I'm reporting them and I recommend everyone to also. They also have lied several times about who the manager is. They claim that they shouldn't have to go to the side of the house to give my my mail (that's where I live and where my mail box is!) so instead they just don't give me my mail!!!! Wow!!! They claimed they knocked on the front door but didn't! Everyone was home!!!! Why they lie for!?!? And so many times they put my Landlord's mail in my mailbox and won't even give me my mail! I have to grade on a curve, thus the one star. They lost an important item in the mail. I was waiting for 4 packages at home and only 1 only arrived (it was torn and possibly tampered with). I had to go to this post office and pick up the rest of them, and find out what happened. I reach out to these people and one guy (black guy who sits at window 4 at times) ignores me. The mean West Indian female at window 1 finally finds the 3 packages. I told her, "thank you" twice. I'm still waiting for a response. Hey, my cat will show gratitude when I feed him. If working a job that provides you with a salary, benefits and pension isn't your cup of tea, perhaps you can work somewhere else? Or open your own business? Just some thoughts on my part. If I could give zero stars I would. Whenever I go there is always an issue. Terrible customer service. Employees act as though they don't want to do their job. I've even had an issue where mail was scanned as delivered to my mailbox but when I went to check my secure mailbox the package wasn't there. I called the post office to open an investigation and no one seemed to care. The issue was resolved when the company graciously sent me a new package. The worst post office. People has problems with attitude. They wouldn't take my package, claiming I didn't pay for shipping. When I did pay online 55$. The label was international, not something they deal with regularly. They accused me for lying and not paying, and I was trying to prove them wrong, manager came in, started saying some crap about unpaid bar code( note: I sent packages internationally many times and never had an issue) I started saying that the international label, he closes the window in front of my face saying " u don't wanna listen- that's it" and left. This is ridiculous. When i went to a bigger post office, they explained me calmly what the problem is, without any attitude. The problem was I had to attach 4 same labels. I never really thought about post offices as being shitty. I've lived all over the country, and the service I received never made enough of an impression either way. The post office was where I sent the occasional care package and dropped off my netflix at 5pm to achieve maximum dvd turnaround. That is, until I went here. This place is horrible. There is no one word to describe what a shit show it is, so I will draw you a word picture: When you hear about post offices being shut down and wonder why, picture this place. You walk in, and the staff is behind 3 inches of bullet proof glass. After having interacted with them, I believe this is less due to the threat of theft and more due to repeated threats of being punched in the face. It is dirty, gray, and generally nasty. It has obviously not been cleaned in months. The line has always stretched nearly out the door every single time I've been there, no matter what day or time, because the staff is so freaking inept and slow. Want to send something priority or express and have it ready by the time you get up to the counter? HA! Good luck. The entire place is a barren wasteland, no boxes, no envelopes, no labels, nothing. You have to wait in line FOREVER and haggle with the staff to get the free priority box, get back in line, wait AGAIN, then deal with these idiots all over again. Why? When I asked one staffer, Ivy, she told me they put boxes and labels out every morning and that someone steals them. Really, someone steals priority labels? Whatever, why don't you put more out? This was met with a blank, confused stare. So to sum it up, the staff is totally useless. It breaks my heart that anyone could hate their job so, so much to cause them to behave like such d-bags. But then I remember how long I've been waiting and how rude they've been and that heart break turns to bubbly rage. All in all, this was a big fat NOPE for me. read more

This is the WORST post office in the world. The delivery drivers from the Kensington office constantly claim they are unable to deliver my packages, or report there was a delivery when there was NOT, yet I am sitting waiting for them here all day. Frequently they will just drop a package by the door without even ringing the bell and it is stolen off the doorstep. My apartment is on the first floor and all they need to do is ring the doorbell and Voila! I will come to the door and take the package. This occurs almost every parcel. The woman who delivers the actual mail is great, efficient and competent, but the USPS truck delivery guys are the stupidest, laziest, rudest dolts. I complain to the post office, but nothing is accomplished. Is it so difficult for them to do the job for which they are paid? The worst post office I've ever visited! Went there in my lunch time, and intended to use automated mailing service to save time. Of course , it was out of service. Waited in line for about 40 min. and requested my package to be mailed first class. The woman in a window rolled her eyes and after repeatedly saying " Jesus Christ", stated that I have only two options: to mail it media mail or more expensive 1 day option. After I asked why it can't be mailed first class, she started yelling at me. I still don't get why she refused to mail it. I should have asked for the manager, but I did't have time, so I just left. Funny story, even though you're in Brooklyn where everyone expects to be treated like garbage by anyone in customer service, and even though you're in a completely rundown building in a wasteland of a neighborhood, you still don't get to be an asshole. There are never any flat rate boxes available, no pens to use to fill out any forms, the self service machine is begging to be put out of its misery and the employees are outstandingly horrible at providing any sort of assistance in any capacity. I understand that you hate your job, but at least you have a job. If that's still not good enough for you, either quit or just shoot yourself. Stupidest, slowest, and most ignorant employees I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. How do you go about your day being angry at everyone and everything in the world because your job sucks? After waiting for 4 days for a package to arrive at this particular branch, I had to wait another 8 for them to get their shit together and actually deliver it. They updated the tracking info twice in those 8 days, once to tell me it was delayed (4 days after the expected delivery date had passed) and once to tell me I can come pick it up as opposed to just delivering it like they get paid to do. The one time I had called to ask if I can come pick it up, I got an attitude from one of the workers as if I was asking her to do something ludicrous. I wasn't even asking for a favor, just to do her damn job and answer a simple question. I would wish explosive diarrhea on that entire post office staff but knowing how things work there, it would take just about two weeks to come out. read more
