In spite of Christmas rush, I had a good experience at this post office. At mid-day 4 of the 5 service windows were open, so the long line moved fairly quickly. The person who attended me for the various items I needed was efficient and cheerful. read more

If I could give zero star I would. Staff is rude. I went there several times to pick up a package because a notice was left (never got any notice left but tracked my package online which said so...). The teller told me that my package was being processed (the attempted delivery was 2 days prior) and that I had to come back after noon to pick up my package. I came back at noon and same teller told me that my package was in the truck to get delivered... No explanation, no apologies.... read more

after having read all these reviews i was pretty terrified to go here. it's right on my way home from work & i didn't feel like going out of my way today so i bit the bullet. it wasn't so bad! the lady who served me was in training so she had to be nice. the woman training her was helpful & gave me a cheaper rate than i had been using where i used to live! the worst part was there was a little bit of a wait. now i just pray my packages don't get misplaced/lost. read more

I am in the process of looking for a package that the tracking number states was delivered by USPS. I haven't received the package as of yet, but i am being helped by a Ms. C. Who is the supervisor at Adelphi post office, I have to say she has been so helpful, she is reliable and calls back when she says she is going too, she is going beyond and above in helping me resolve my lost package. Long long lines. This post office was unable to accommodate the number of residents when I moved here over twenty years ago and now with the influx of additional people it's impossible. We continue to get more and more people and less and less service. I wrote to the USPS and inquired about redelivery and that service is unavailable in this zip code. If I could give a zero I would. Unfortunately this has always been my post office. Yes their are a few carriers that are REALLY nice. However the post office itself has major issues delivering packages. I can not count how many time I received a notice when I was home. Or didn't receive a notice but tracked it an saw that that their was "an attempt to deliver". What is worse is they NEVER answer your phone, you go their in person and they still don't produce your package. And I always have to schedule at least 5 re deliveries and file a complaint before my package is resent. read more

unprofessional i think this word describes all that i would have to say about this place!! i had a package shipped through usps and i received a notice of attempt to deliver meanwhile i was home wasting my time for the package and no one ever came up to deliver they just left the notice. then my husband goes and tries to pick up the package the next day and supposedly the carrier had taken it to redeliver which is total bull because they don't do this unless you order a redelivery!!! my husband went a second time to pick up the package and they tell him that they can't find it "this is a quite professional excuse" then they tell him come back tomorrow, this time i go with my husband and they still don't find my package!!!! where can it be? no one knows! that's their response. supervisors are no help at all!!! they tell you to call their # and it never works. beware!!!! read more

This PO left me a delivery receipt. When I went to the PO to pick up my package, it wasn't there. They couldn't find it. Then they said that someone had signed for it but they refused to let me see the signature. Told me to go home and look it up online or use my smartphone. When I looked it up, there was no signature and the number on the original receipt didn't exist. Try calling them and after 10 rings sounds like a fax machine picks up. Never had the US PO lie to me before. Called the main number and they said it should still be at the PO and scheduled redelivery. Bad experience. Going forward have packages delivered to my work address. This sucked!! read more

I have lived near this post office for 26years. It is the worst, from no reply from management when you have a complaint, to no getting through when you call the post office. The way packages are delivered Is terrible. They refuse to leave a pick up notification so they leave them in an unsecure location my residence. One was even taken by someone. I even called and spoke to someone responsible for complaints about this post office. This person has not gotten back to me in years ! Maybe that is why they feel safe in continuing to give such poor service. I try and do most of my transactions at the main post office downtown Brooklyn. read more

I never write a review but this time i feel i should share my experience. Beware of this post office- 950 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11238. Please dont make any other appointment if you have appointment with this post office. I doubt you could meet the other schedule. One of the worst post office we ever visited. The staff are rude. The manager has no sense of responsibility. We had appointment for passport renewal but there is nobody to attend us or the other people waiting for their turn. Absolutely unorganized. The manager came out of his office once but he does not know when his staff will show up.. We are waiting for someone to come out but not sure how long we need to wait! read more

Came for my wife's passport appointment today, 9/25, made about a week in advance. The person able to actually do passport paperwork was at least an hour late, and people with prior appointments were still waiting. While we waited, it was obvious the place was understaffed by people that didn't seem to mind how backed up the office was becoming. The line for normal USPS windows was backed up outside the office. On top of all of this, the workers were very rude to my wife. They insisted she sit on a bench that was already full and then later accused her of getting in the way of other customers. We simply left and will schedule her appointment somewhere else. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

This is the second time in two months that something sketchy has happened with my mail. I just received a greeting card, which was obviously opened (to see if there was money in it, no doubt). My girlfriend had a birthday card with two gift cards in it stolen at this place, only to be used at the local chain store at Atlantic Center. It HAD to be someone at Adelphi. Seriously, tell relatives not to send cards with checks or money, or it will be stolen for sure. read more

Yesterday, while standing in line for a somewhat reasonable 10 minutes or less, I said to myself over and over, get in and get out. Say as little as possible because the more you open you mouth, the more opportunity there will be for conflict with the window attendant. After the lady in front of me left the post office shaking her head in frustration, I realized it was my turn to face the judge behind the glass. The lady behind window #5 signaled for me to come to her. As i slipped my carefully prepared 'window envelope' through the window opening, she wasted no time shaking her head at my obvious incompetence, then stuffed it in a larger envelope. "Didn't you see the larger envelopes in the back?" "Are you sending a check?" she asked me. "Yes." "If I could see that, what do you think is going to happen?" I must have been blind and stupid according to her. Nevermind the fact that I may have my own reasons for wanting to use the smaller envelope which I use every month for the same sensitive mailing task, and my routine has yet to fail me. Also, note that she did not give me the option to stick with my routine by enclosing the larger envelope with my envelope now safely trapped inside it with the postage sticker affixed to the outside. "Why don't I get the option to send it my way? Why can't you politely suggest that I use the larger envelope while still letting me use the smaller envelope?" She didn't like my attitude, so she shoved my mail back through the bottom opening in the glass and told me to get back in line because she was not going to help me now. "Fuck you," I said back to her as I got back in front of the line. "Fuck you," she returned. The manager/postmaster asshole person then attended me. He obviously was there to support her, while pretending to 'serve' me. He asked if she disrespected me. I said yes, but before I could explain how she disrespected me, he then asked, "Did she curse at you?" "No. Well, yes. I said, 'fuck you,' then she said, 'fuck you,' so we both cursed at each other. But you can disrespect someone without cursing at them." As I tried to explain the situation to him, he focused on details that were irrelevant to her attitude and more on the logistics of sending mail. After a few frustrating rounds with him, he very politely refused to serve me. It was clear at the end of this encounter that he never intended to serve me. He just wanted to exercise his little/big man power before turning me away. After I riding a few blocks over to the Pratt Station on Myrtle Avenue, I told the lady there, "They were not feeling me or hearing me at the other p.o. on Fulton." "Adelphi Station?" she asked. "I guess so." She looked at the return address on my envelope. "Yes, that's your station." "Ok, I guess it was the Adelphi Station." "I think it was your fault," she spoke in a flat voice with deadpan expression. But even without showing emotion, I knew that she was only kidding me and we both burst out in laughter in unison. She made me feel better about my afternoon. I vow to NEVER return to Adelphi Station. And will continue encouraging people sending me packages to use UPS or FedEx due to the fact that Adelphi has lost my mail in the past, in addition to everything written above. read more

Complete asshats working here... supposed to receive a package yesterday...when it didn't arrive, the website indicated that an attempt was made, but then rerouted back to the office. Today, I've been home throughout the day, and another attempt was supposedly made, at 5:00 with a notice left. Hmmmm...that's unusual because the mailperson usually comes around 1:00....and the notice, of course you left it there and it magically blew away with a gentle gust...just like the last time! worst post office, i agree with other reviewers - this is not an overstatement. i've had identical experiencethat they don't actually even attempt to deliver at all. sometimes they don't even bother to leave a notice. too lazy, the package might be too heavy and they just don't feel like it. why bother? just leave a notice so they can go collect them. but sometimes even leaving a notice is too taxing and they leave that part out too. so you have huge lines in the post office on the weekends. the most blatant example was this (happened earlier this year, 2017): after the usps website stated that the delivery was attempted, there was no notice/slip whatsoever. i went to the post office, and signed for and picked up a huge box - no doubt, too big and heavy to bother for a delivery. the darnest thing happened next. a week later, i got a notice, finally, in the mail box, saying that delivery was attempted and nobody was home. what?! after i signed and picked up the package already? how did they even attempt a delivery without the package? it's hard evidence that they don't bother to make a delivery. read more

WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this post office and their god-awful employees a zero-star rating I would. To be fair, I do not know about the employees who work in the office, but the ones who "deliver" (and I use that term loosely) the mail are terrible. It is appalling that my tax dollars are paying for such unabashed incompetence are utter disregard for the customer. These delivery people LIE ON A REGULAR BASIS, claiming that they have attempted delivery and left a notice because nobody was available. Not only has someone in my household been home EVERY SINGLE TIME they claim no authorized recipient was available, but in the 10 years I have lived in my apartment and the dozens, if not hundreds, of packages I have had delivered, I can count on ONE HAND the amount of times the post office actually left a notice! I lived in a communist country and received better postal service with more honest employees! These people need to be fired, at the very least. I am disgusted with these employees. It would be nice if ONCE the USPS took note of the MANY, MANY complaints of non-delivery and falsely-reported delivery attempts/notices left that so many of us have made throughout the years! THE ABSOLUTE WORST! I have never had so much trouble receiving a package in my life! It has been over 10 days since i was first sent a package from Los Angeles and given a tracking number....when my package did not arrive the day it was supposed to according to the tracking # with no note left of an attempted delivery I decided to walk over and see what the problem was. I told the man I was there to pick up a package, his response was, "the problem is, i dont know exactly where you package is..." ???? he told me he would look for it and call me by the end of that day. SURPRISE...no phone call. I once again tracked the package and learned it was back on its way to the sender in Los Angeles. The sender re-sent me the package and it was scheduled to arrive yesterday. SURPRISE...no package was delivered. I authorized my friend to go pick it up this morning....and once again he was told my package has been sent back. WHAT A JOKE! This time the tracking # told me the address is not valid...i live 3 blocks away from this post office!!!!! i have had so many packages delivered....I was told by a supervisor that it seems like someone over there is clearly not doing their job....after all this venting the point is, this is a very poorly run post office and someone is clearly no doing their job correctly. I am unable to get a answer to what exactly is wrong with the address and why my package is not being held at the office for pick up. I called to find out if my package was there early this morning and was told "i cant look that up right now, have someone come in after 11," no one should be inconvenienced in this way, deal with this place as a LAST RESORT! read more
