Made an appointment for passports applications at this location. I was there earlier than my scheduled time and was taken care of right away. The gentleman, Murino took care of us. Process was smooth with minimal waiting. This is the first time I had a good experience at a post office. Staff was friendly, location was clean and stocked with all shipping needs. Worst experience ever. I had a package miss sent to the 10465 office instead of my local office. I called customer service and was advised to contact or visit the office holding my package so I can intercept it since it would be on the re routed track and further delayed possibly weeks. I was told to kindly ask to speak to a supervisor by customer service and provide my tracking information and identification and they should be able to assist me. When I got to the 10465 office I was met at the window by CLERK NUMBER 4.(name refused). I said good morning and explained my issue of the wrong shipping route and before I could even continue I was rudely cut off by this clerk #4. She was very rude and adamant in telling me she can't help me,even though she's at her window she doesn't have to help me and laughed and walked away briefly. When she returned I asked her can I speak to a supervisor to assist me and she repeatedly denied my request. She told me to leave my name and number and she will pass it off to be contacted later. I asked her can I just please speak to the supervisor now I'm trying to catch the wrongly shipped package before it hits the streets please. I begged. She still refused. I told her I just doing what customer service suggested to do which was contact the holding branch for better assistance. Still she looked at me in disgust and ignored me this time not even answering me and just sipping her coffee. Fortunately another clerk stationed their window. I briefly explained my issues and asked to speak to a supervisor it's very urgent. 5 mins later a supervisor came and I asked him to possibly help me locate my mail. I provided my id and tracking and he helped me retrieve it wrong the route it was going by to be mid delivered. I thank him for that. I am however so very disappointed in the lack of courtesy respect and quality of customer service provided specifically by CLERK #4. This is not the way of business nor simple human compassion. SHE LACKS THE QUALITIES LIKE BASIC COMMUNICATION SKILL EMPATHY AND REASONING THAT SHOULD BE REQUIRED AT THE FRONT LINE OF A BUSINESS!!! If there's one thing The BX, BK, Manhattan, QNS, oh...and SI have in common is that many (let's just say all) gov't offices, lack good old-fashioned customer service. Am I wrong? But this location on East Tremont in Schuylerville, defied that. We all know customer satisfaction is never guaranteed, but you might get lucky- because even for my quick in & out visit for really cute stamps, the gentleman helping me was cordial and even a conversationalist (who knew....in a post office of all places). This P.O. is decently sized I guess and ran smoothly while I was here. The only problem is that this location has dirty floors and no one seems to keep up with basic housekeeping. read more

One of the few US Post Offices I've been to on multiple occasions with no real wait. Greatly appreciated! The staff isn't super friendly but they are very efficient. Which is perfectly fine with me. I don't need the small talk with my book of stamps it just makes the process longer. As long as you are not rude I'm good, and I have never experienced rude service. This isn't my regular P.O. so my visits are infrequent. Only metered parking, and that can be a pain at times. Overall a perfectly fine Post Office... Definitely better then most. read more

Compared to most post offices, the "lobby" inside of this one is small. Add to the increase of people currently living in the Throgs Neck area (it seems about 30+ percent over the past 27 years), you can understand the wait time in this one. There are usually three tellers behind the service windows, so I wouldn't go during peak hours/times. In the past, it had the same reputation as going to the DMV...where they treated their patrons like crap. They made it seem like we were doing THEM the favor. Then, instead of helping you the first time, they'd get annoyed if you filled out the wrong paperwork. It was a nightmare; and I actually hated going there. Now I'm not sure when they began to focus on Customer Service, but it seems they stepped up their game. I find the tellers to be courteous, friendlier and very willing to help. Sure, you probably have to wait a few extra minutes on average; but I'd rather have the customer service than to be pushed along like cattle. read more

Worst post office service in the planet!! There were 16 people in the lobby and only to postal service windows open; all of us with mask BUT breathing the same air only TWO feet apart! The postman responsible for this branch should get fire for negligence! Not only was this experience negative, but I had so many other negative experiences there; some of employees behind the counter act condescending and rude and they feel that they can get away with it. Every time I've waited in the lines here, the opinions around me are unanimous. This has to be one of the worst USPS's ever. I would say every 1 out of 3 times I hear someone getting angry with the worker they're with, because of how obscenely stupid they are. I've never had a problem with any of the gentleman, a nice Hispanic lady or the Asian lady behind the windows. However, there are a couple women who usually work the middle windows that are literal wastes of space. In addition, the post lady, who you can hear from about 15 feet from your house because she's always yapping on her phone, has misdelivered my package to the right number, but the wrong street. You figure they would hire people who can read, but that's probably asking too much. Every misdelivered package is a complaint. Every complaint ends up getting a mysterious email from that post office saying they've already called and asking how the service was. Well if they didn't lie and actually called me, I'm sure it would have been pretty bad. I have a feeling they may have been vindictively misdelivering my packages since I complained about the post lady who broke something in front of my house. They'll probably be more vindictive when they see this too. We'll see. Once again, absolutely terrible. read more

I have never in my whole life encountered dishonest mail/package delivery personnel than these lazy guys. If you want heart attack, use this post office. 1.They dont pick up schedule packages and yet send messages that packages were successfully picked up. 2. they dont deliver, they dont ring bells, they dont knock your door but 3 days later they return to your mailbox and shove attempted delivery notice in your mail box. 3. Dear Throggs Neck Post Office, You are horrendous!!! Completely 100% horrible. Your workers are nasty and lazy. I have now had to mail out invitations twice! People still are not receiving them. I have added extra postage because you claim an envelope that is 5.25" is too high! Besides the fact that this is absolutely ridiculous, I gave in and added the EXTRA 22 cents. I have already received one back because you marked the wrong side of the envelope when it went through the machine! Exactly how hard is it to put envelopes through a machine!?!?! Now only certain people are receiving the invites. How is it that 1 person in City Island, 1 person in Monroe and 1 person off bruckner blvd can receive it but someone off Pelham Parkway and people in Long Island are still waiting?? I live in northeast Queens and could not find a post office in Queens with walk-in passport service. I work in the Bronx so I knew this location was close to the Whitestone bridge. I went on a Saturday morning around 10. The staff was very helpful, efficient, and friendly. There was an employee there who made sure the customers had all the necessary documents for passport applications. I was out in about 40 minutes. The clerk was very nice and worked efficiently. I wish I had this post office in my neighborhood. Would recommend passport services here in a heartbeat. read more

This is by far the worst post office i have ever had to deal with. On numerous occasions they claim they delivered a package when it wasnt and when they are questioned about it they say well its your word against the delivery person. How difficult is it to read a name on a box and deliver it to the proper address. Seriously we learn our numbers and alphabet in the first grade so unless a five year old is delivering my mail it shouldnt be that difficult. read more
