I think that this post office provides superior service. The USPS employees are friendly, courteous and really do a good job...and make a very special effort to help me in my mail delivery and pickup needs. And, I do use them a lot. They are understaffed. I genuinely don't understand how this post office is run. I was supposed to receive my mailbox key two weeks ago, and I still don't have it. On top of that, they made us fill out FOUR separate forms because they kept losing them just so our mail could be held at the post office instead of being delivered to our mailbox. Every time we go in, we're told they'll "talk to the supervisor," and somehow it gets messed up again. There's zero accountability, zero organization, and no sense of urgency. The staff seems completely incompetent and no one knows what's going on. To make it even worse, they don't answer the phone, so there's no way to get updates without going in person and dealing with the same issues over and over again. This has been beyond frustrating and honestly unacceptable. 0 stars if I could. read more

Whoever delivers the mail to Five East apartments, aka Place Duplantiar apartments needs to never deliver mail to us again. The community mailbox has been left open and unlocked without the mail person checking back to see if they are closed. The mail person comes in plainclothes A LOT. They pretend to deliver things, but enter it in system "undeliverable. I saw it for myself. I'll put it this way. I work for a state agency that issues refunds in direct deposit or by paper checks. I opted to receive a paycheck. A long length of time passed. So since I work where I do, if we don't receive our paper refund, we have to report it to a director for it to be redelivered. The director said the mail person entered in the system that the check was undelivered because the address was invalid. My address was correct. So basically, I caught whomever delivers the in a lazy lie. I have also received calls at work from people who didn't receive the refund for the exact reason, although the address was actually correct. These people live in the same complex I do, although I can't disclose that to them. This is too careless. I am a combat military veteran who suffers from PTSD. My medication comes in the mail from the VA. So there have probably been times my medication was taken when the mail person failed to remember to close the community mailboxes and lock them. Do better, not worse. read more

I have had to use the post office to send off many things lately. This location is less than 5-minutes from where I live, so it's the most convenient. The employees have always been really kind and the wait has never been extraordinarily long. Of course I go during off-peak times. I love that they have a self-service machine, too, if you want to send of packages that way and not deal face-to-face with someone. I often send out priority mail flat rate boxes, so those machines are super helpful, when planning to send those out. The one thing I cannot stand is driving into the parking lot. There is a huge pothole that has not been repaired. I have a brand new car and that darn thing has the potential to damage a vehicle, so I've always had to be careful driving into that parking lot. If it's dark when you're driving into the parking lot, BEWARE!! You'd think that some city official has already experienced driving over that pothole. Also, I'm not sure why they don't have shipping boxes out for priority mail with the labels and such. Last time I went they said they were out of labels and I had to write on the box itself. I didn't mind doing that, but why not have the labels? Other locations have them! Anyway... I put my 2 cents in. read more

I don't know how so many people at this location can all have such different experiences. I've literally NEVER had an issue and I'm there often, so maybe that's why. There's an older black woman that I always go to, and she's amazing! Goes above and beyond, because I'm a little dingy when it comes to filling things out accurately lol. She literally saved me from leaving something off many times, and I also left my wallet once, which she caught immediately. read more

This place is absolutely terrible , you're lucky if there are two people working at once and then as soon as they get a tiny bit tired they take a break and there's like eight people in line but they don't care it's ridiculous I can't believe how bad the service is! The older white lady that worked this morning does not listen and is smart mouth. I'm unsure why every kiosk in the city seems to be down but I hope they get back to working soon. There was literally nothing to write address on package with in lobby, package was given to me to send out and being that usually there is something to write on or kiosk works I didn't have them put address on box and trying to tell her that she wanted to be smart about it. read more

The small lobby had more than 6 people in it. The 1 man who was working left his desk for about 8 minutes to get a roll of tape :( in addition to him waiting on ONE woman for 15 minutes. The line was SO long. That was crazy. They have to do better. read more

Mailed a package with incorrect address and zip code. It bounced around various Baton Rouge post offices for five weeks until a wonderful employee at Bennington Street post office took down all the information we had and was able to find it!!! The worst post office I've ever been to! The people are so rude and don't care to help.

I came here with my roommate today and Carol was assisting us. Assisting us is used very loosely. We were asking her to help us scan our QR code and she told us we had to do that on our own and they didn't have the "capacity" to do it. The scanner was right in front of her and she proceeded to be rude to us. We ended up having to leave due to her wanting to argue with us instead of help us and do her job. I do not recommend coming here and based of other reviews others have had the same type of experiences. I also walked back in to ask her for her name and she flipped back her hair and said her name in the most sarcastic way. I do not think people who have terrible customer service should work with people all day. She seemed to hate her job and her life. I feel bad for anyone else who has to start their day off like I did with this interaction. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Aside from the fact that is took three visits and about 30 minutes to find my package that they lost, they refuse to serve anyone with a mask (which I agree with) but the clerk BETH refused to wear one herself because it's "uncomfortable" read more

Clerk by the name of Carol told me that it was going to be a problem to ring me up for my prepaid packages and give me a receipt because she might get a long line. She then took each package and threw it over a 15-foot gap into the priority mail bin missing and just hitting the wall twice and not retrieving the packages. This place sucks and I feel bad for you if you ever have to deal with this location. Everyone is unprofessional, and lazy. You can never call this location because the phone doesn't work, and they are rude. This woman literally got into it with me today because she didn't want to do her job and get up and track my package that wasn't delivered. They lost my package and two ladys' packages behind me so this obviously isn't a rare occurrence. Customer service was slow and terrible. My package wasn't even supposed to need a signature but for some reason they wouldn't leave it (this also happened to one of the women who were behind me) and the woman who went on our deliveries wasn't even there to be asked why this had happened. I left my number and they were supposed to look for the package and call me and it's been over and week and I haven't gotten a call. I tried to call them and the phone always has a busy signal. read more
