This is the third post office I have been to in the last three months and by far the most inept post office I have frequented. I had everything in order to mail an international package; I.e., package taped, label filled out and customs form completed. The lady 'examined' the form and scrutinized every line and then said '"you'll need to fill out a separate line for each item in the box with ounces , quantity and amount or it will be sent back to you". I filled out the form per her instructions. She read out every item, the amount and cost so everyone could hear the contents of my box (you could hear a pin drop inside). I realized that when I first approached the counter, there was one person behind me--When I left the post office, there were 15 people in line. There is no excuse for this type of inconsiderate behavior and incompetence. read more

Went at 2pm as patrons were walking away because the doors were locked. I got lucky and someone unlocked the door and opened up. They do not follow the posted hours (which include closing for lunch) and it is a crap shoot whether or not this location will open when you go. Not to mention the lack of friendliness. I have never seen such poor operations at a post office. This may be a reason why the next closest branch employs so many and still seems beleaguered. I will absolutely avoid the Moreland Little 5 Points branch in future. It was a waste of time. I have a business post office box at this location and they are the WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!!!! It is not unusual for them to just close in the middle of the business day, even when they are supposed to be open. I just went to pick up my mail at 3 pm on a Friday and they were closed. Absolutely horrible. I actually had mailed out a package from there and all the things that I had put in my package did not arrive to the person they were being delivered to. There were things missing from the package which means it was opened and stolen. The person whom I sent it to said there was tons of clear tape wrapped around it which means it was in fact opened. Not only is that absolutely ridiculous and extremely upsetting but that's illegal. It's my own fault for not saving the receipt. They're disorganized, incompetent, have no idea whats going on...DO NOT GO. There are plenty of other post offices in Atlanta that are way better. These guys unfortunately to put it nicely.....really SUCK. read more

My most recent experience here was just terrible. I needed to ship a package to a friend and I had everything boxed up and ready to go and I also had my shipping slip printed out for the top of the box. I walked up to the counter and the woman was clearly not interested. I placed my box on the counter with the slip and mentioned I needed to ship a package. Her immediate response: "You have tape?" Me: I beg your pardon? Her: You have to have your own tape. Me: To tape this on top of the box? Her: Yes. Me: So I have to either have it taped on top of the box or buy tape in order for you to ship my package. Her: Yes (stone-cold stoic face) Me: WOW. I've never experienced that. (Reluctantly purchased tap, taped my slip on top of my box, and walked out fuming) I couldn't believe it. Not a single care in the world of what I was doing, how my day was, where my package was going, etc. Nope. Just "buy your own tape," like I was interrupting the USPS doctrine of shipping practices. Guy at the counter is completely condescending, talking down to me like I don't know how to write an address. Not to mention the 10 mins I waited in line while he chatted with another postal worker. I don't expect any post office to be excellent, but this one is beyond subpar. read more

So disappointing to watch the decline of this institution. The reduced hours make service difficult, and the attitude of employees is often passive-aggressive. When I encounter a pleasant employee it is so refreshing. My residentialUSPS carrier is thoughtful, competent, and a blessing. read more

This is my local post office and while I'm thankful it is in close walking distance, I really hate having to use it on the regular. It seems to be stuck in the postal Dark Ages with absolutely *nothing* being automated. No self-serve machines and you've got to actually go to the counter just to buy stamps. With the lack of machine manpower, you'd think they'd step it up in the staffing realm. Unfortunately I've never seen more than one employee working here, and that one employee is never especially quick or productive. I know it's the holiday season, but I had to wait nearly an hour just to buy some stamps and send some letters internationally. And this was in the middle of the day during the week. Then, when I finally get to the counter, the guy was totally rude and unhelpful: they were out of forever stamps (both holiday and regular) so he gave me stamps honoring the Historic Negro Baseball League. Celebratory, sure, but not exactly the festivity I was hoping for. Along with the inefficiency this place is just sad. They're often out of the slips needed to send packages, there isn't ever a pen to be found, and there's always serious panhandlers outside that seem to have no problem staking the place out as the post office apparently doesn't shoo them away like the businesses across the street. Oh, and let me just say how thankful I am that I don't ever have to use the parking lot. read more

Don't believe the haters, they are just mad because they don't understand how awesome it is. A modicum of kindness towards the staff at this post office goes a long way. They are friendly and have a great selection of stamps, and when you ask them questions they are direct and to the point. This is the best post office I have ever been to, and I do all of my mail-related business there. And about the tape situation, you only have to bring your own if you are not sending your package priority mail. It's not unreasonable for them to expect you to have your items packaged BEFORE you show up, especially if you show up at peak times. read more

What is there to say? The post office is in trouble and soon we will all have to use either Fed Ex or personal drones. So yes, they are slow and grumpy and not at all helpful. And it's true that today -- the main shipping day for folks to get packages out in time for Christmas -- there was only one lady working there. And okay, it's also true that when a guy came in with a somewhat simple question about insurance through usps.com they told him to call the 800 number because "they don't answer computer questions." But...it's my local post office and I think they are doing the best they can and I don't mind the long lines because that's why God invented Candy Crush. read more

Little Five Points post office is pathetic. Three time now in the past few months, I have been there and their system was down and they couldn't mail my packages!!! I always try to support the USPO but I get way better service at the UPS store - way more expensive though but the people there are so much more friendly and helpful. Also one PO worker told me that they couldn't insure my package but they didn't know why and didn't seem to care to find out. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Workers aren't polite or helpful - you'd think they hate their jobs. They're never in a hurry and bottom line, could care less about customer service. The USPS is constantly changing their policies and procedures. It's so worth the extra expense to ship via fedex or ups where your business is valued and it shows from the time you walk through the door to the time you leave. Why do I always want to go to the post office between 11 a.m. and noon? I have walked the half mile to this post office from my house twice at that time, only to find that the post office closes during this time period. Also, service is very nonchalant. Many times, there will be no one at the counter, even though they're open. Someone will eventually sloth out. Even though they know people are waiting, they will slowly process paperwork or check emails or whatever before offering help. I have yet to find a well run post office. read more

Come here only if your life depends upon it! The L5P post office keeps odd hours (basically its closed when you are not at work). There are no machines. There is a post box, but only takes postage under 13 oz. Otherwise you need to go to the counter and the counter service is enough to make a sane man contemplate suicide. I simply can not move as slowly or inefficiently as those people, it beggars belief what they do. If the line drops to below 3 or 4 people they shut one of the counters to make sure you wait at least 45 minutes. You have been warned. Now - the good bit. The pharmacy opposite sells books of stamps. Purchasing your stamps there will take a few seconds only. The Highland business center in Inman Park will handle your packages and give you options of USPS, UPS or FEDEX. Only use this PO is you absolutely must read more

I have a very difficult time giving the USPS a bad review because you get so much for what you pay. That being said It wouldn't hurt to sweep and mop every once in a while. It seems that no matter what location I go pop in, including this one, they are filthy. So filthy in fact that if I ran the place people would be fired. That being said I mailed something on a Thursday morning and it was delivered by noon the next day for $15 and change. Now that is a deal! read more

I've never had such bad service at a post office, and that's saying something. I walked in just before 10am, and it was completely empty. So, I peeked around the corner to see if there was anyone at the desk, and found a lady looking down at her cell phone. She never acknowledged me. So, after a while of standing there, I said politely, "Hello, are you open?" in an effort to get some help. She just looks up at the front door and goes, "The door is open, isn't it?" and looks back down at her phone. I had to get out my package and place it in front of her on the desk and start asking for what I needed for her to finally get off her phone and do something. Her name is Mrs. Walton, I gathered from her name tag. I've never in my life been greeted like that in customer service, or should I say, not greeted. The worst post office I've ever been to. I'm a glutton for punishment because I keep going back since it's the closest to home. Service is excruciatingly slow. Often there's a line out the door and only one postal worker upfront. They are never stocked appropriately with packaging etc. One time they didn't have stamps. STAMPS!! read more

This post office is close to my house, however, I will never use it again. The employees clearly could care less about their job or their customers, and they are miserable and rude. I went in today to mail a small package and buy a book of stamps. After the woman had marked my package with postage and given me the stamps ($11.98 total), I gave her a $20 bill. She then informed me she did not have change. She could have cared less, so I left and took my business to the UPS store. No wonder USPS is about to go under. read more
