Terrible work ethic. There have been days my entire street doesn't receive mail at all. Usually a Saturday or day after a federal holiday. Many packages scheduled to deliver on certain days have been delayed because of this office's ineptitude. Last year I complained to the woman in charge and she shrugged. I love the East Atlanta Post Office. I have lived in this neighborhood since 1987 and they have always been wonderful. During this crisis, I know their job must be extra difficult. Today I needed packages picked up and they were on it! Please always appreciate our USPS workers but make it extra thanks and extra smiles during these challenging times. read more

That absolute WORST post office!! I can never get my packages without there being some sort of mix up. "Smitty" normally delivers but he's lost multiple packages just by placing them in wrong boxes. He doesn't deliver on Thursdays but the person that does deliver to us doesn't make it until close to 6pm. I purchased a P.O. box for six months but I never received mail in it for the first three months. I asked for a refund, but I was told I could only receive half of the money, therefore the manager extended the box for an additional three months. I would arrive to pick up my packages and I would be told they were not there or they could not find them. Most of the counter clerks seem to be borderline illiterate. I would print the tracking information and they still would ask a series of idiotic questions that could be answered just be reading the information provided. Furthermore, the wait for service is exhaustive; many times there is one clerk and a line out the door. Avoid this post office at all costs! read more

I moved to the area about two months ago and this is the second time that I have had a package lost in under 30 days. I am pretty sure that my textbook was placed in the wrong mailbox and my leasing office has no record of my blender ever being delivered despite tracking saying that it was delivered. I wish I could avoid using this post office but sometimes there is no way for me to get around it. read more

I realize that the post office is a monopoly so I hold no illusions as to the service I will receive, but this place is beyond the pale. I moved to the area and paid them (40.00) to have my mailbox re-keyed. Three weeks, two visits to the PO and 5 phone calls later, and I am still waiting. Every time I get the response "your mail carrier will do it today and he'll call you later to confirm" and every time nada. I've moved and had my mailbox re-keyed several times before and never had this kind of problem. It is astounding at how poor their follow through is as well as their ability to lie to me all at the same time. Avoid this post office at all costs- it should be closed and we should all be re-directed to a location that actually does the job they are entrusted to do. read more

I've used this Post Office more frequently after recently getting a PO box there. It's located off of Metropolitan street. The parking lot is a little small, but there is more than enough street parking for everyone. The girls who work at the front counter are a little slow but I've found them to be very friendly and helpful. This is easier to get in and out of verses Little 5 Points and I think the service is better as well. As far as Post Offices go this location is A-OK. read more

Can't say enough about how wonderful both the postmaster and the carrier were when a package was incorrectly addressed to me at my son's house and not deliverable. They found my package before it was sent back and redelivered immediately. Kudos -- very nice especially since I called from South Carolina and wasn't even a customer in their area. read more

There are No Lobby hours after 5 p.m. I could have sworn the employee told me when I purchased my p.o box that I could access it after 5 p.m. . This is the only Post office that I am aware of that doesn't offer access tto the lobby/your p.o box after 5 p.m. So now the only way to get to my p.o box is to wait until Saturday once a week. I just hope there's nothing important there waiting on me. read more

Worst post office ever. Ran by a punch of ghetto women who hang up the phone whenever you call or they just don't answer. They are incompetent and lazy and I had to call the inspector general just to find out where my mail was because they either couldn't or wouldn't answer a simple question. read more

I don't understand why for the life of me, people take up these jobs and then treat customers like it's their fault that that's their place of employment!! I understand that some jobs can be more frustrating that others, but you need to understand that due to the line of work you are in you need to maintain a certain level of professionalism and courtesy especially when dealing with a customer. I spoke to a clerk and I genuinely felt like I was not suppose to be asking her the questions I was asking. This seriously has to be the worst PO in Atlanta. Unfortunately, it's the closest one to me, so I usually deal with it. I've NEVER seen all 3 registers in use. Typcially they have only 1 person working - even on the weekends. The employees are all very nice, but you would think they might at least try to move a little quicker. The workers at this post office are very rude. I had a package overnighted with guaranteed delivery by Saturday 12pm and when the package still had not arrived I called the post office directly to check on this issue. I very nicely asked if I could get some information on the package as it showed as out for delivery but it was past noon and I was curious as to where the package was and if I would get it by at least the end of the day. She became very rude and basically told me that there was nothing she would do and I was out of luck until the postal carrier came back to the station. I then asked how the "guaranteed delivery" time worked and how to request a refund for the lack of receiving the item at that time. She then proceeded to yell at me saying that she didn't care that I had paid extra for that service and that I just had to wait. I calmly asked what the point was to pay for expedited services when I don't receive the service. She just sat there and yelled and yelled about how she doesn't care and how the carrier probably attempted the delivery and since no one was there they took it back. I explained that someone has been home all day and we had a signature waiver and no notice was left on the mailbox. She said i was probably lying and that I would have to wait until Monday. Unfortunately I can't call the customer service number either and when I did and attempted to speak with a rep the system hung up on me - 4 different times. read more

I have literally never written a bad review before as I find the process mostly self-serving and arbitrary. I don't mind waiting for efficient service and generally find the post office to be an effective service. I frequent this location often and the customer service here is erratic at best. And today, the postal worker behind the counter was visibly texting throughout our entire transaction, which thusly lasted at least twice as long as it should have because she wasn't paying attention and then condescended to me about a request I had with my package. I was very polite and am in general very understanding of various customer service issues, but this crossed the line and is unacceptable. read more

People really need to modify their expectations of what a tiny neighborhood post office is supposed to be. Yes the parking lot is small, yes there are only a few employees. But those employees are WONDERFUL and helpful and do the best they can with what they've got. I just moved to east atlanta, and have not rcvd mail in 3 weeks. they never even left a note that they came by to deliver a package. when i called to track the package i found out that they hadit there. they gave me the wrong store hours over the phone, and when i was finally able to get there during their open hours they could not locate the package or the delivery man. still no package! read more

I am very disappointed in the high level of attitude that one has to encounter when trying to address issues at this office. I just called to speak with the manager because the knob on my mailbox was broken off. I did not break the knob and assumed that my postal worker had done so accidentally, since that is the only person who opens my box besides me. I started receiving notices in my box to fix the knob and I wanted to call to discuss the issue. When trying to explain the situation, the manager had an instant attitude and wasn't helpful at all. The level of customer service and professionalism was definitely lacking. And sadly, my interaction, seems to be the norm, rather than the exception. read more

Horrible service. I am a very easy going person, but the service was the worst. Someone sent a package to the wrong address and in order to send it back to the sender she charged me $7 because I needed to tape what had been ripped by the mail man. She had no compassion. I asked if I could use one piece of tape to mend what the mail man had broken and she told me they DO NOT have any. It's the POST OFFICE of course they have one little piece of tape. But she was uncompromising and unprofessional about how she handled it. She yelled " Did you not understand WE DO NOT HAVE ANY TAPE!!!." I've been using this post office for my PO Box and other mail needs over the last few months and I have to say everyone I have interacted with (Alicia, Davielle, James) all have been nothing but friendly and helpful. They have exceeded my expectations of what it's like interacting with a local post office. I've had some tricky mail situations over the last few weeks and they have helped me with a smile.
